Combine fillable forms with identical field names in one pdf
When merging two/more fillable forms that contain identical field names (e.g., 'Name' in two distinct form sections) into one document, the information from the first form automatically populates the corresponding fields across all forms. There should be an opt-out from this feature to prevent data duplication when the forms represent different information and still need to be combined in one document.

Adobe Acrobat fails to render PDF content when Form XObjects are too deeply nested
- Open the attached "test53.pdf" in Adobe Acrobat.
- The PDF contains 53 levels of nested Form XObjects (XObjects within XObjects).
- Beyond a certain depth (52), the nested content does not render at all, even though the PDF is valid according to ISO 32000 (no recursion, only nesting).
Expected behavior:
Content should render consistently, as the PDF spec allows arbitrary nesting of Form XObjects.Actual behavior:
Beyond 52 levels of nesting, the PDF viewer skips rendering the content.Attached is also a "test52.pdf" file with 52 levels of nested Form XObjects that renders correctly.

Creash on document open
I'm operating on a Windows 10 Pro v22H2 64bit machine with 8 GB of RAM; everytime I open a document w/Adobe Acrobat Pro it appears and then crashes and disappears. Usually the second time the document is opened it is stable. Is there a fix for this? Nothing much has changed since this started happening other than designating AA Pro as the preferred app to open pdfs.

There was an error while reading a stream
I am getting this error message "There was an error while reading a stream" when opening several newly created PDFs today. Older files open fine. I have the latest Adobe reader DC and have tried a reinstall. If I open the files within a browser, either Chrome or Firefox, they open just fine.

Reduce tab size at top of screen
When you have multiple documents open, they appear as tabs on the top of the screen. The tabs are really large. When you have a split screen (so sharing Adobe with a different software at the same time on your screen), only one tab shows at a time because the tabs are so large. It makes it very difficult to move between documents. The old version of Acrobat Pro had the tabs smaller so you could more easily navigate between documents at once.

Why is Acrobat (Reader?) such an unmitigated mess?
Supposedly, I have Acrobat Reader installed - I honestly can't even tell. That's what the menu has anyway, "About Acrobat Reader". Everywhere else it's just "Adobe Acrobat". I clicked on Share feedback, it took me to this page - "Acrobat for Windows and Mac". But in that long list on the left, there's a separate link/section "Acrobat Reader for Windows and Mac". Like I said, I can't even tell this much, not with any certainty. And then, supposedly, it's "DC", the version that came after 11 (or was it XI?), but then the About section only says 2025.001.21151. I can't even.
On to Preferences, my main grudge. It's an INSANE amount of settings. And the list of pages can be scrolled easily, even with a touchpad. But then select General, and the page suddenly grows, in a way that cuts off the bottom part, and the scroll bar is now on the right edge of the window, to support THAT insane long list of general settings... and it doesn't even work, unless actually operated with the cursor, and even then it's "move the scrollbar first, the list will jump to the new position upon release", not a continuously scrolling list as one would expect. No wheel/gesture scrolling anymore at all. And during this all, the OK and Cancel buttons are stuck at the very bottom, not visible unless we actually scroll to the bottom. Which only works in that insanely-stuck-in-the-past way as described above. Security - the same, grows the window compared to many others, and then still leaves the OK/Cancel buttons cut off at the end. I can't even.
I wish Acrobat Reader, ACTUAL Acrobat Reader still actually existed. That's all I need: a simple PDF reader. Access to cloud storages might be nice, but everything else is completely superfluous. I don't need measuring and forms and signatures and commenting and spellchecking and RSS(??) and ADS and plugs everywhere for paywalled features, I MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT NEED OR WANT AI IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM.
I just do wish THE supplier of the PDF format had a simple, no-nonsense READER app, like it used to. I don't need a funky, bloated, performance hog of a UI - but I do wish the app had a modern, actually sensible, consistent UI throughout. Instead of a mess of an unprofessional mix of parts that look like they belong in the 2020s and others that look AND FEEL like they're stuck on Win95. With all the money the company has the gall to ask, and thus makes, it's ludicruous what an absolute mess this supposedly simplest piece of software is. It's ludicruous to think that any number of people work on it and think this is fine, the way this is is fine. It's ludicruous to think how many layers of approval it must go through, and nobody raises an eyebrow at any part of it.

"An error occurred while printing the document, kindly use our help page to trouble shoot."
Your AI is useless. I cannot figure out how to get ANY Help from Adobe. I click Visit Help. I try their fix, but I cannot get to "
"Open Acrobat.
Select Menu > Help > " THIS IS WHERE I AM STYMIED. WHERE IS THE NEXT STEP CHECKING FOR UPDATES."Check for updates (Windows) or Help > Check for updates (macOS).
Install available updates and restart Acrobat. "

Dragging PDFs from email to the personal drive NOT Working
There has been a major issue with dragging PDFs from an email (outlook) to a personal drive on Windows and from there not being able to open/view the PDF with an error message popping up. I now have to open the adobe PDF in the email and print as Adobe PDF and save, which takes more time. Also, I just became aware of this issue and I'm no longer to able to access older PDFs that I have saved originally by dragging, which was no issue before.

Default installation of Adobe Acrobat Pro to include all features and components
Microsoft blocked-off standard users being able to add features later (to the installation from CCDA - eg PreFlight to allow production and verification of PDF/A). This was by blocking MSI repair and feature additions for standard users. MSI being run by SYSTEM/local admin from a full installer and configured to simply pre-install everything does work (eg ADDLOCAL=ALL).
We have now deployed the 64-bit installer as enterprise-managed, as all-inclusive, as above.
Also, we need to either:
• Hide the CCDA installation of Acrobat Pro (because the default does not include all features)
OR
• Have the CCDA configurable to install all features/components by default, so we will not need a separate enterprise-managed installer.Needs to work for Windows 11 and later, and also for Windows 10 for clients on extended security updates (ESU).

Bug: First open/First save fails.
When opening a fillable form in Acrobat. Upon the first time its opened, edited, and saved acrobat states it cannot save the file. No protections enabled. After closing all the prompts and the save window. When you save the file again it saves without a message. The save went through when its re opened. Seems to only happen when you first open the software.
I cannot show much in images because it is private info.Windows laptop continual update version. If you are a dev. then I have an older email attached to the account different from this one.
- Save a word document to Microsoft PDF.
- Open said PDF in acrobat and click Prepare form.
- Create a field(s) and save this form version of the pdf.
- Close out of acrobat entirely.
- Open new form acrobat file and edit it.
- Press save, or CTRL + S and the message below pops up.
There are no protections on my current document. It only shows the message once every time the program is opened.

cannot dismiss install app suggestion
When I opened a PDF yesterday, I was shown a hover dialog suggesting I install a specific "app" and I could not dismiss the dialog without clicking the "Add" button. I clicked outside of the dialog. I clicked on it. There was no close button. I had to click Add, and then I cancelled the installation.

Acrobat Fails on second "Create Document from Folder" after running once
ssue: Acrobat Pro Hangs on Sequential Folder Processing
Summary: Acrobat Pro becomes unresponsive when attempting to load a second folder of PDFs immediately after saving/closing a previous batch operation.
Steps to Reproduce:
Use "Combine Files" or "Action Wizard" to load a folder containing multiple PDFs.
Complete the process (e.g., Combine or OCR) and Save the resulting file(s).
Close the active document/tab but keep Acrobat Pro open.
Attempt to load a different folder of PDFs using the same method.
Observed Result: The application enters a "Not Responding" state. The file explorer window may hang, or the "Add Files" dialog freezes. A full application restart is required to process the next folder.
Expected Result: The application should clear the previous session's file handles and allow a new batch process to begin immediately without a restart.
Environment:
App: Adobe Acrobat Pro (Latest Version)
Frequency: Consistent (happens every time)
Impact: High (breaks batch workflow productivity)

Accessible PDF form not working with NVDA in Adobe Acrobat Pro 2025
I have created a PDF form using Adobe Acrobat Pro and tagged every form manually to ensure that the NVDA user can fill out the form without accessibility issues, but NVDA does not interact with the form fields and user can not enter the text in the fields. If users use the Arrow key, NVDA reads all the text on the form but when using the Tab key for navigation, focus does not move and NVDA does not announce anything.

Override Text Color in Bookmark Pane
In Adobe Reader, don't use the text color from the document in for the text in the bookmark pane UI, as it may make it hard to read depending on the selected theme. Instead, use the same color as the rest of the UI. Or at least provide an option.

Do not send agreement when form fields are added via API
When an agreement is created in the AUTHORING state, updating form fields via the API endpoint PUT /agreements/{agreementId}/formFields should not automatically transition the agreement to IN_PROCESS.
Currently, calling this endpoint causes the agreement to be sent immediately. This makes it impossible for integrations to programmatically place required signature fields and still allow users to review the agreement as a draft before sending.
This behavior differs from the Adobe Sign web UI, where users can place form fields, save the agreement, and continue reviewing or editing without triggering a send. The UI appears to perform a form-field update operation while preserving the AUTHORING state. Additionally, programmatically setting form fields without automatically sending was previously possible in earlier versions of the API.
A typical integration workflow would look like:
1. Create an agreement via API with state = AUTHORING
2. Programmatically add required signature fields (including page number and x/y coordinates) using PUT /agreements/{agreementId}/formFields
3. Present the user with an AUTHORING view of the agreement for review
4. Allow the user to explicitly send the agreement when ready (via UI or PUT /agreements/{agreementId}/state)This feature would allow Adobe Sign integrations to support a consistent and user-friendly authoring experience:
- Enables dynamic placement of required signature fields
- Preserves user control over when an agreement is sent
- Aligns public API behavior with the Adobe Sign UI
- Avoids forcing integrators to rely on static templates or manual field placementWhen an agreement is created in the AUTHORING state, updating form fields via the API endpoint PUT /agreements/{agreementId}/formFields should not automatically transition the agreement to IN_PROCESS.
