Bug: worst case file handling wrong
- Topic: bad PDF file handling in worst case situations.
- Situation: you open a PDF from a network drive and start to edit, then the network connection gets lost. Several issues might now occur, see below.
- Windows 10
- It would be expectable that Acrobat can still save the file, because it resides in memory or Acrobat has a cache and can save from there.
- What happened: A file has been opened from a network drive, something that's common in companies with many PCs. The first issue was that this approx. 40 MB file had a lot of comments and while scrollin/skipping to the next comment, Acrobat suddenly came up with an error like "Cannot read comment". That means, it didn't load the entire 40 MB file into RAM (streamload?). Then I wanted to save the file to a local drive, but it kept saying "Invalid object" or similar. No matter what I tried, like Save as, all didn't work. So I lost about 2 hours of work of commenting comments. I couldn't see whether and when it had probably auto-saved the file, because the network connection was lost for more than an hour. Such things happen. The concept with, for example, Indesign is to have a file cache so the next start could repair/restore the file, but Acrobat doesn't have such.

Changing the colour of the pages
it would be beneficial for some users, myself included, to be able to change the colour of the document's pages we are reading from the default white to whatever background colour works best for our vision. For example, when I'm working in MS Word, I'll often change the page colour to various shades of blue as it helps me to see / read the test easier. If this feature could be added to this product, that would reduce the strain on my eyes when reading many documents using this software.
Sincerely,
Jim

Constantly changing interface
Almost every time I open Acrobat, whether on restart or wake-up, the locations of interface items changes. Today, "Recent files" is populated with the contents of my starred folder. Which is great because usually my starred folder is inexplicably empty, Today it's recent files that's empty.
Regularly I'm greeted with "Bytes not Ready" when performing basic commands.
Then I get some messages that are upside down and backwards! What is that?!
Signatures weren't available last week but they're back now!
As many others have suggested about going back to the old interface - Mine does that about every 8th time I open the program! It's great when that happens but it only lasts for a day. The new interface is far less intuitive and requires many more clicks to perform the same commands. Why?
I'm up to date on everything and, yes, I've turned it off and back on again...

BUG: Adobe Acrobat Sign changes Centered data fields to Right Justified
When creating an Adobe Sign Agreement (or Template or Web Form) by importing a PDF document originally created by Acrobat, any fillable fields that are specified to center the entered data end up, instead, with the data fields right justified.
This requires manually correcting the appearance of each field from right justified back to centered in order to correctly match the original document.

BUG: Adobe Acrobat Sign checkbox properties
Adobe Sign fails to implement checkbox properties from Acrobat forms.
When creating an Adobe Sign webform or signature template by importing an Acrobat form with existing fillable fields, the following checkbox properties are
are not correctly implemented:
• During on-screen filling of form
o Check boxes defined using "cross" option appear round, instead
o Check box color is not displayed. All selections appear "blue" on-screen.
• The final PDF output
o Check box colors are wrong. The color of the first checkbox in any group is
applied to all checkboxes, even those defined with different colors.
Example: A 3-page form for medical history and examination
The form uses color-keyed checkboxes:
• Green - Routine findings
• Red - Non-routine findings
• Black - Neither of the above

I dont like the layout to complicated. The create scanner also is bad cannot save any scanner settings when scanning in documents.
It also skips documents when scanning keep on stopping. There is too many step to create .pdf. I have no problem using the older version. Also paper size keeps going back to A4 size paper I want it to stay on Legal Size paper instead. How do you save the setting?

J'ai deux documents similaires et je voudrais les comparer pour voir les différences. Comment procéder ?
Il faudrait pouvoir mettre les deux fenêtres côte à côte et faire défiler le texte en parralléle.

accessibility background and text colour change doesn't change anything
I went to preferences - accessibility and then changed the colours of the text and background (black to white and white to black). It worked in the acrobat app because the colours really did change as I wanted. but then when both saving and exporting the pdf, it still looks the same. I want to view my pdfs in preview, not acrobat. So if this option doesn't actually change the pdf itself but just views it differently in the app, then it is useless.

Add window snap for Windows 11 to Adobe Acrobat
Windows 11 allows to use window snapping layouts to maximize the use of screen, it can be done literraly with any app, but Acrobat does not support window snapping layouts. It is a very useful feature to quickly arrange windows in a way to maximize productivity for example when comparing a PDF versus another PDF or another text in another document

Drawing a straight line but unable to finish/exit the operation.
Hi.
I am experiencing a bug where when I try to draw a line and make it either horizantally or vertically aligned using [Shift] button, it makes the operation unable to end. And when I try to navigate, the line just stretches along with the mouse. I can still navigate to other windows, but when I return to the PDF window I am originally working on, it still is in the same condition and the line operation is still running.
For now, the work around is that I need to "fake close" (close the file by middle mouse click and select "No" when prompted to save). But it is really inconvenient.

Add "add text comment" (without a border) tool back to new August 2023 Acrobat experience
I can't find "add text comment" (without a border) tool in August 2023 Acrobat.
When I choose another similar sounding tool called "insert text comment" and clicking on a newly-created blank page, nothing happens. (I don't know what this for in either old or new version. It may have something to do with cursor?)
Workaround is to use "add text comment" (with a border), change properties to always have no border displayed and resize the border after typing.
The old version behavior of "add text comment" appeared to add text at position clicked on a page and then flowed right until reaching the edge of the document before wrapping to a line below original click.
Is there a way to accomplish the old behavior of the "add text comment" without a border tool in the new version?
