1. Problems with jpeg2000 in pdf since version 2021.011.20039

   Since the last update to version 2021.011.20039, Acrobat DC no longer displays PDFs with JPEG2000 compressed images. When loading, the error message 'Insufficient data for an image' appears. Previous versions of Acrobat DC had no problems with these files. Other viewers on the market can still display these PDFs.

   What's the mistake here? A problem in Acrobat DC or in the file?

2. Allocate RAM to Adobe Acrobat

   Please let us allocate RAM to Adobe Acrobat. I have 32 GB of RAM and when I open a few heavy documents (the OECD transfer pricing guidelines in different editions), one of them comparing 2 heavy documents, everything slows down considerably. I subscribe to Creative Cloud, everything is up to date.

5. Feature request: overwrite open PDF file with same name

   Often when exporting a file as a PDF, I will accidentally have the old version already open. I then receive a message saying "Cannot save to the file "xyz.pdf", because it is already open."

   It would be helpful if there was an option to "save anyway and overwrite open file", so that I don't have to cancel the export process, close the open PDF file, and then go through the export process again.

6. management of signatures

   It should be possible for a TEAM manager to see the status of signature requests / access signed documents for all team members. If a Team member goes on vacation, there is no way to see the status of a signature request or retrieve the signed document until they return.

8. Change format of Highlight Current Bookmark feature

   The "Highlight Current Bookmark" option currently makes the outline of the bookmark icon a little darker or bolder, but I can barely tell the difference to see which is highlighted. Could the "highlighting" be changed somehow to make it stand out a little more? Maybe the fill color for icon of the current bookmark could be a different color or darker shade.

9. Bring "Take a snapshot" out of nested menus

   Before you decided we'd be better off with "Take a snapshot" nested behind 2 layers of menus, it was simply Alt, E, A to use the Edit > Take a snapshot tool. I've seen enough of the ignored forum posts asking for it to be added as a hotkey item that we could put where we want, but I'm not even asking for that... I just don't want to have to navigate through yet another nested menu to use a tool that should be so much more accessible to begin with.

10. Text embedded in decorative shapes in PowerPoint should be tagged as artifact when converted to PDF

    When PowerPoint files are converted to PDF, all shapes containing embedded text that were excluded from reading order in PowerPoint are being tagged inappropriately during the conversion to be read by assistive technology anyway. Tagging and reading order as specified in PowerPoint should be carried over to Adobe PDF, and if text is marked to be excluded from reading order because it is actually decorative, this should be honored in the conversion process. For example, we use callout markers that consist of a solid circle with a number embedded in it (1, 2, 3, etc.). The numbered circles are excluded from reading order in PowerPoint because the screenshot they are marking is already described in brief text on the slide, and the numbers in the circles, by themselves, are meaningless when read by a screen reader. However, when I convert the file to PDF, the numbers in the circles are tagged as readable text for assistive technology.

    Yes, Adobe Acrobat Pro supplies ways to manually fix accessibility issues, but we shouldn't have to use it to fix accessibility issues caused by Adobe during the conversion process when the source file was set up correctly for accessibility in PowerPoint, Word, etc.

11. PowerPoint titles converting to H2 in PDF

    When PowerPoint files are converted to PDF, slide titles should be converted to H1 because PowerPoint currently does not establish a hierarchy of headings. However, when I test the PDF output with a screen reader, I discover that they are all converted to H2, and there is no H1 anywhere in the file. Adobe Acrobat Pro is flagging this as a heading issue in accessibility checker, but the slides are properly set up with title placeholders on the master layouts, so Adobe is improperly applying H2 to slide titles when no H1 is present. 12. Stop using Internet Explorer for application logins, PLEASE !

    By way of background, we have investment managers that protect their Acrobat PDF files with remote sign-in via a third party portal (Intralinks).

    This used to be available until security settings via GP where set to block IE due to security issues.

    My complaint is no different to others and it is very poor of Adobe to not have created a solution when Microsoft stated that IE was coming to end of life on June 15 2022. Leaving a fix to this issue so close to this date is very poor.

    Do not close this case and say it is going to be fixed until it is. You just did this in my comment to Matts suggestion "Stop using Internet Explorer for application logins"

13. Unique Sequential Number in each printed copy of a document

    Documents such as petitions are often numbered. This is so a set of identical documents assigned to different people can be tracked, to ensure that all pages are accounted for. Being able to print a unique sequential number in the footer of each page would be a tremendous enhancement. For example, if I were printing 500 pages of a 2-page document in duplex mode, I would want a serial number to appear on the footer of the first page in this sequence: 1001, 1002, 1003.....1499, 1500.

14. Installing Acrobat Pro plus Acrobat Reader is a necessity

    PDF forms developpers needs to test their forms (created with Acrobat Pro) with Acrobat Reader, so we need to have Acrobat Pro AND Acrobat Reader on the same computer.

    Preventing us from doing so is a nonsense that forces us to use competing software (Foxit or PDF Studio).
