1. Drawing markup has become unnecessarily difficult

   I've been using Adobe Acrobat Pro to review and mark up engineering drawings, and I wanted to share my experience with the latest release.

   Today I needed to perform a very simple task: add a double-ended dimension arrow and a text label to a PDF drawing. What should have taken around two minutes instead took well over half an hour.

   The main issue was not a lack of functionality, but that the functionality was extremely difficult to discover.

   The ⋯ button on the toolbar opens Customize Toolbar, which naturally led me to believe that this was where I needed to add the drawing tools. I spent a considerable amount of time trying to understand why I could see tools such as Line, Arrow and Rectangle in the customization dialog, but could not add them to the toolbar because the Add button was disabled. It was completely unclear that these tools already existed elsewhere.

   Eventually I discovered that the drawing tools are hidden behind a tool called Draw, which I only found by using the search box. This wasn't obvious from the interface, and I don't think many users would intuitively think to search for "Draw" simply to find basic markup tools.

   Once I had found the drawing tools, I was able to create an arrow, but even then the workflow was confusing. It wasn't immediately obvious that a double-ended arrow is created by changing the Start and End properties separately. The terminology (Open, Closed, Reverse, Butt, Slash, etc.) is not self-explanatory for users who simply want an arrow at each end.

   Adding text was equally frustrating. I found multiple text tools with similar names—Add Text Comment, Text Callout, and other annotation options—but they behaved differently and it was difficult to determine which one was appropriate. The text editing toolbar also appeared to have very limited formatting capabilities. I couldn't find a straightforward way to make text bold or change its colour, both of which are common requirements when marking up technical drawings.

   My overall impression is that the interface has become significantly harder to learn than previous versions. Simple engineering review tasks now require users to search for hidden tools, interpret unfamiliar terminology, and work around interface limitations.

   Adobe Acrobat is widely used by engineers, architects and designers to review PDF drawings. I believe the markup tools would benefit from being much more discoverable, with a dedicated, clearly labelled drawing toolbar and consistent text formatting options.

   I hope this feedback is helpful. I think Acrobat remains an excellent PDF viewer and editor, but the markup experience for technical drawing review has become unnecessarily complex and time-consuming.

2. keyboard shortcut for page display tools

   Wasn't sure if this should go under UI or Accessibility, but... I often need to change the view of pages (single, two-page, scrolling, no scrolling).

   It would be helpful if this could be toggled with keyboard shortcuts instead of having to click them in the quick tools bar.

   If this is already possible, I'd greatly appreciate if someone could let me know how!

4. Adobe not running smooth. Cannot work with it currently (August 5, 2026)

   Adobe is freezing and reporting errors on documents used before. We cannot use it in it's current form today. It worked fine yesterday. Please Help!
   When I open a document in portfolio view the document opens and nothing is there.

5. Horrendously Ridiculous Gawdawful New Design

   Your new design is Horrendous. I can't find anything. Why do you shuffle everything around and hide all the most useful tools so no one can find them. Do you delight in making your users crazy? Not to mention terribly inefficient - it takes me 5 times longer to create and edit a document and even then it's not how I want it to appear. I often have to just save and move the file to my old PC and work off my old Adobe Acrobat (in no time it turns out just how I want it!!). Who on earth thought up this new design?!?!?
   
   And - please get rid of the stupid nuisance annoying AI.

6. Bug Report: Mixed Page-Size (Letter/Legal) Printing fails when document contains mixed page sizes. Reproduced on multiple

   Bug Report: Version 2026.001.2771 Mixed-Page Size within document causes error instead of printing to proper paper trays. For example is page 1 is Letter then page 2 is Legal the print will fail rather than printing page 1 with letter paper and page 2 with legal paper. Tested with multiple docs, multiple PCs, and with multiple printers.(Letter/Legal/Tabloid). Installing older version of Acrobat Reader resolves issue.

7. add custom column for user information to admin portal

   add the ability to create a custom field for user information. I would personally use it to add the Employee ID from my organization in order for my finance department to better run user audits. This column would need to be able to be included in a .csv export. This would turn hours of work from our finance team during renewal time into minutes as we could cross reference the employee id with our workforce management system.

8. Sharing documents as attachments not links - bring back the option

   In my experience, sharing links to documents creates unnecessary frustration for recipients. Links often take a long time to load, may not work correctly due to permissions or network restrictions, and many recipients do not realise that access may be password protected. This results in confusion, delays, and additional support requests.

   A PDF attachment is simple, reliable, and universally understood. Recipients can immediately access the document without navigating online portals, signing in, or dealing with permissions issues.

   Please restore PDF attachments as the primary and most prominent sharing option, or at the very least give users the ability to make attachments their default sharing method.

   The current focus on link sharing reduces usability and creates barriers for efficient document distribution. Many users, including myself, strongly prefer sending PDFs as attachments and should not have that workflow diminished or hidden.

9. pop-ups

   Get your fingers out of my business. I pay the full price to use your software. So stop shoving pop-ups for new functions and other services in my face. I'm trying to work here. I'm not here for fun, and I sure as **** am not here for YOU. It's supposed to be the other way around. You're supposed to be the industry leader; act like it or I'll find another provider. They'll still push pop-ups in front of me, but they'll charge half the price for it. You should be ashamed.

11. Error in PDFMaker

    I am using PDFMaker in Microsoft Office Pro 2021 Word. I have a file that has over 1000 pages. When I select "Save Adobe PDF File As" and then the button "Options", I get the screen shown in the attached file Shot 1. I select "Pages" under "Page Range" and put in a page number greater than 1000.
    If I now use the up/down arrows next to the page number, I get the following shown in Shot 2. When I select the OK button, I get the error shown in Shot 3. The page number cannot have a comma. This is what is causing the error.

    ファイル自体が重いわけではないのに，テキストボックスやテキスト注釈，線，図形の入力が非常に遅い．
    アップデートと修復，パソコンのストレージを空けることも試しましたが，効果なし．

14. PDF file appears twice on the taskbar

    I am using Adobe PDF Reader, and when I first open a PDF file, it appears correctly as a single icon on the taskbar. However, when I move the window to another monitor using Win + Shift + Arrow key, the same PDF file appears twice on the taskbar—as if two instances of the same file are open.

    I would like to resolve this issue so that only one taskbar icon is shown, even after moving the window to another monitor.

    I pay a monthly fee for Adobe and everyday it seems like I fight with it. It is either slow or crashes. It is so frustrating trying to get work done. What am I paying for?

16. Administrative Control to Disable the "Disable New Acrobat" Option

    Many organizations standardize on the new Acrobat experience for supportability, training, documentation, and user consistency. While administrators can deploy the new Acrobat interface, end users are still able to select "Disable New Acrobat" from the menu and revert to the classic interface.

    This creates several challenges:
    - Increased support calls due to users working in different interfaces.
    - Inconsistent user experience across the organization.
    - Training documentation and internal procedures no longer match what users see.
    - Additional administrative overhead when troubleshooting issues.

    Requested Enhancement

    Please provide administrators with a policy or enterprise setting that allows them to:
    - Disable or gray out the "Disable New Acrobat" menu option.
    - Force users to remain on the new Acrobat experience.
    - Control this setting through enterprise management tools such as Group Policy, registry settings, Microsoft Intune, or the Adobe Customization Wizard/Admin Console.

    This capability would allow organizations to standardize on a single Acrobat experience, reduce support costs, and ensure a consistent user experience across managed devices.

18. Acrobat repeatedly steals Windows focus while performing OCR

    When Acrobat performs OCR on a large PDF, it repeatedly brings its window to the foreground and takes keyboard focus, apparently each time it moves to the next page.

    This prevents me from working in another application, such as Microsoft Excel, while OCR is running. Every few seconds, focus switches from Excel back to Acrobat. Any typing may then be interrupted or accidentally entered into Acrobat.

    OCR is a long-running background operation, particularly for documents containing hundreds or thousands of pages. Acrobat should not activate its window or take keyboard focus merely because it has moved to the next page.

    Steps to reproduce

    Open a large scanned PDF in Acrobat Pro on Windows.
    Select Scan & OCR and start OCR for the entire document.
    Switch to another application, such as Microsoft Excel.
    Begin typing or working in that application.
    Observe that Acrobat repeatedly comes to the foreground and takes focus as it progresses through the PDF.

    Expected result

    Acrobat should perform OCR in the background. It may update its taskbar progress indicator or show a notification when the operation finishes, but it should not activate its window or take keyboard focus.

    Actual result

    Acrobat repeatedly takes focus every few seconds, making the computer effectively unusable for other work until OCR completes.

    Requested fix

    Please change OCR processing so that page changes do not activate the Acrobat window. Alternatively, add an option such as “Run OCR in background” or “Do not bring Acrobat to the foreground during processing.”
