3. Can we not get Times New Roman for a Font? That is ALL MY DEGREE PLAN ACCEPTS. What is the use to be able to edit a PDF if you need word fi

4. Bug: missing font styles in Acrobat DC for Mac

   When editing a PDF, I can't select some font styles (e.g. "Futura Condensed" is not available in dropdown).
   There was no problem with Acrobat XI.

5. "Edit any PDF"

   Please stop sending out emails that say it is quick and easy to edit a PDF without qualifying what is possible and what the consequences are. I have several clients who now think it is possible to edit PDFs, but the reality is that it is NOT possible to do so professionally.

   The end result of clients editing PDFs is that version control is lost from the original files that generated the PDF, artwork needs to be recreated to match the edited PDF and because there appears to be no way of tracking what the client has changed, the clients then need to re-proof the entire document. The clients are also unable to make any form of accurate edits as they don't generally have the correct fonts available.

   Edited PDFs are unsuitable/unreliable for sending to a printer for offset printing. You are unable to edit a PDF without spacing and alignments getting messed up and you simply do not have enough control to maintain anything other then the most basic layout.

   It is reckless, unprofessional and incredibly frustrating that you continue to send emails out encouraging people to edit PDFs. It is costing people a lot of time and incurring unnecessary costs to fix files when someone edits a PDF.

   Until you have the technology to make this feasible could you please stop claiming that editing PDFs is a good idea, or to be encouraged.

   it is NEVER a good idea to edit a PDF. A PDF is simply a format for delivering the final document. It should never be treated as a live file to be worked on.

6. Random missing letters appearing when editing and saving over a PDF

   I cannot upload as the information is sensitive but there seems to be a programme glitch when you are editing and then saving over PDFs. I have just attached a screen shot instead. It happens maybe 8/10 times but when you are editing the text on PDFs random missing letters appear. It seems the only way to get around this is by copying and pasting the letters back in place and this doesn't even always work. The PDFs were originally designed in Indesign and saved out as PDFs as templates to be edited afterwards. I have called Adobe many times and the issue is still occurring months later. I have tried re-creating the indesign files, I have tried changing the font, I have tried un-installing and then reinstalling, I have tried many other computers and this issue is still happening. It is a terrible problem and is happening to all of my colleagues. This needs to be fixed immediately as I have spent so much time on this bug already. It is extremely frustrating.

7. It would be of great help adding a "Technical Drawing Border" in Tools

   When I make a technical drawing and save it on PDF I usually go to tools and add a rectangle as a basic border. It would be great and very helpful having an option for adding a technical drawing border instead of a simple rectangle (see attached sample)/

9. Adding White Space via the Crop Tool Does Not Work for Some Pages

   Here is a posting I recently made to the Acrobat "Editing and Exporting PDFs" forum:

   As it turns out, Acrobat Pro XI is supposed to be able to do this, but as I stated offline to try76, "... I experimented with increasing the white space around pages (to 8.5 x 11.0) in XI. The single-column test page I sent you is from a 9-page, mostly three-column document, and when I use the Cropping Tool while attempting to do this, there is one lone (3-column) page that refuses to re-size - whether I try to do it individually or on the whole document...."

   All of these pages came from exactly the same source (i.e., a single .TIF scan series, followed by export via ABBYY FineReader Pro 14), so there should be no differences in them - yet Acrobat fails to perform. AFAIK, this is yet another bug, rather than some peculiarity injust that one page.

   In the meantime, this same putative "cropping" feature (cough!) in Acrobat Pro XI should be able to process the desired range of pages within the 200-page (4.25 w x 7.0 h) file that I mentioned in my initial forum posting on this subject (above), but when I try it, any number of pages, scattered throughout the document, do not respond to the command.

   I already own a full license for ABBYY FineReader 14, which is fully capable of exporting documents having whatever standard or custom page size I choose., but it is somewhat of a PITA having to drag a file like this into FineReader. This risks destruction of front- and back-matter page numbering that was painstakingly created within Acrobat - after which I then have to drag it back into Acrobat for clean-up of the page-numbering mess.

10. Selectively Flatten Watermarks

    When adding a watermark to a .pdf file in Acrobat 10, such as "For Draft Review", it would be nice to prevent another Acrobat user from removing the watermark while retaining the ability to still have operable links, such as the Table of Contents or figure references.

11. Bug report: unable to cancel out of changing/replacing watermark if you accidently choose watermark on a document that already has one.

    Currently if you accidentally choose to add a watermark on a document that already has one, there is no way to cancel it. You have to either go through the settings and replace it with what is already there or choose a new one. This has happened several times and the only way to get out of it is to end task on Adobe.

13. Redaction Annotations are not consistently applied by Adobe Acrobat Pro

    we are generating documents which contain Redaction Annotations. These are not generate by an Adobe tool, but 100% comply with the minimum requirements according to Adobe pdf 1.7 specifications: https://opensource.adobe.com/dc-acrobat-sdk-docs/pdfstandards/PDF32000_2008.pdf. 12.5.6.23

    When opening these documents:
    - Adobe shows all Redact Annotations as expected.
    - Adobe correctly shows the replacements when hovering over the rectangles.

    When applying the redaction with Adobe Acrobat Pro (Continuous release Version 2024.002.20687) on Win 11 the following occurs:
    1. Redactions are correctly applied and overlays are added on first (visible) page.
    2. Redactions are applied on following pages BUT (most) overlays are missing on the following pages. (if zoomed out to show all pages, overlays seem to be applied in the whole document)
    3. After applying and saving the document Adobe Acrobat Pro still indicates that the document contains redactions which were not yet applied. (not always reproduceable, but occurs in most cases)
    4. After closing and reopening the document, there is no indicator that unapplied redactions exist.

    Issue no. 2 listed above is problematic, since non-compliant documents may be generated.

    An example is attached with redaction annotations and incompletely applied redactions overlays.

14. the caracter é makes the software crash

    When i use adobe reader and I do comments on sections i have highlighted, entering the caracter "é" makes the whole application crash.

    Set tabs to colors when working with more than one file helps to differentiate and sort. EXCEL allows tabs to be colored. Similar to that. Thank you.

18. able to edit and save read-only file

    Bug found when editing PDFs. I was trying to edit a PDF file which was read-only, created by myself in Photoshop so I'm certain I had saved it as a read-only pdf. I tried editing it using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and was allowed to do so up until I tried to save the file. When I tried 'printing' it so I can export it as a pdf, it came up with an error "File not found. Check the filename and try again.". When I tried Saving as... it came up with "The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder.". I had checked and allowed folder permission to where I was saving it, I had all cloud syncing apps closed, etc. as suggested by forum users as to why I might be getting this message.
    I understand since the file was read-only I should not have been able to edit it. So the first mistake I think I found was that I was indeed able to completely edit the file - from editing text, to moving objects and inserting images. It was only when I tried saving it that I was told it was read-only. Even though I wasted a lot of time editing it only to find out I can't save it, I get that I didn't have permission to edit the file.
    However, the second bug I'm referring to is that I could actually save the file - I found a weird way around it. I could share the file for a review and then I entered my own email address (mind you, not the one I use for Creative Cloud). When I opened the file for review, I saw the edited version I had created and was then able to download it, fully edited, even though I only had read-only permissions. This is a way around editing read-only files, which I consider to be a bug. I create read-only pdfs for contract and other secure documents, and as a paying customer, I do not like to think my files are actually editable easily.
