Option to open in new window instead of tab
Very disheartened to find that the new adobe took away the option to open new documents as separate windows. This is very inconvenient for me in my day to day work as I often have many documents open at once and like to arrange them and move them freely around my screens. Now I have to pull them out of the tabs separately each time which is already getting old. Please add the option back in to automatically open as separate window!

Layout changed on update and i dont like it
Literally everything is in a new place and I can't find anything. The stuff i need to look at the most is now way over on the side of my screen instead of being in the center. The icons have been redesigned and now i have to mouseover things to know what they are. Stuff i need is hidden away in corners. Completely un-intuitive. No way to adjust layout. It's taking me longer to do what i need and now i have to complain about it to you too.

Option to Remove Plus Sign "Create a PDF" Button from Toolbar
I don't want to have the plus sign "Create a PDF" button in the toolbar. I never use any of the three actions mousing over that button does, and I'm always accidentally mousing over it when I'm trying to move the application around on my screen. I will have to disable new Acrobat because this button messes up my workflow. I hope this can be fixed before the older Acrobat display is discontinued.

Regarding case ADB-35924396-K4P5 - Adobe Acrobat Pro issues
Regarding case ADB-35924396-K4P5 - Adobe Acrobat Pro issues
There are several issues that are intermittent. I am working in the web version because almost all the files I need to work with are in shared folders on Google Drive, therefore not accessible in adobe's desktop connection to My Drive.
Mac OS Sonoma 14.5, MacBook Air, Google Drive, Acrobat Pro and using the extension within Chrome.
Issues are all about Adobe stalling. Often enough that I gave in and called support but not at all times.a. using "Open With" from Google Drive on Google Doc and file never opens.
If I "Open With" Preview, the file opens immediately. If I click on the file and open as Google Doc, I can then print as PDF or download as PDF but then I have to upload the PDF back to Google Drive so this adds at many wasted moments.b. Using adobe for e-sign. Open with Adobe (and if this works), click on convert to PDF, and have the circle go to about 90%, then fails
c. Using existing PDF and trying to split. Selected the file, opened in adobe, selected the organize page option, then the split option. Hover between pages to split and identify the new sections. Click continue - eventually a message returns "something went wrong" - totally unhelpful help message with no analysis of why it did not work.
d. Using combine files. Everything is already in PDF. Select files by adding and then click combine. Once again, files stall.
What I have learned - if the file has certain special characters in the name such as "/", the files will cause a failure on combine.
None of the issues considered by security were true of the documents that failed. i.e. no special characters, not corrupted files, no security restrictions on the files in google drive, extension was active, internet was connected.

Pan & Select Buttons in Main toolbar
Please ungroup the Pan and Select icons in the toolbar. As an engineer who goes through dozens and dozens of PDF'd prints every day, the added step of switching between the two has become cumbersome very quickly. Here's the background: when I receive a D-sized print I need to be able to zoom in and then pan around, and usually do so quickly. I thought nothing of the change (once I figured out they were grouped), but it's slowly become annoying. There's plenty of space over there.

Chrome Adobe Extension, Auto font size on rotated pages bug
Steps to reproduce: (Windows 11 environment)
1. Create a pdf in Adobe Acrobat Pro (Version 24.1) with the page rotated clockwise, aka "landscape"
2. Use prepare form tool to add a fillable text field, set the field properties so that font size is "Auto"
3. Save, and open in chrome using the Adobe Acrobat extension (Ver 24.8.1.1)When entering text, it does not fill the whole field and the font size reduces abruptly. Behavior is not seen in built-in chrome pdf handling, or in Acrobat Windows App.

adobe crashes when highlighting
Adobe crashes when using the highlighter feature from the commenting menu. I can add other markups without any issues but this causes the program to Not Respond then crashes and closes all documents. On average it happens approx. 5-6 times an hour. Typically this happens when trying to change the color of the highlighter by right clicking and accessing the properties.

Adobe print bug?
I can no longer print to a printer from a file that was scanned to a PDF with a Canon scanner. THis process has worked flawlessly before today. But now, the print function in Adobe always selects the print to file even though the printer is selected in the WIndows 10 printing dialogue. Help!

HIDE THE 'All tools' PANE!
With the latest version of Adobe Acrobat the setting that previously worked to disable the Tools Pane on startup no longer works. This was obviously not added to regression testing procedures. I could not even take a screenshot of the Adobe Acrobat Reader version AS IT DISAPPEARS THE MOMENT I SELECT THE Microsoft Snipping tool!!! So ... via my smartphone camera, it's Continuous Release | Version 2023.003.20284 | 64-bit. I am using Windows 10 with latest updates.

make features like "reader view" opt in instead of opt out. it interferes with visualizing pdf documents and materials as designed
Change new tools to OPT in instead of OPT out with no clear mechanism. new versions of Acrobat are harder to navigate, harder to comment on and familiar features seem to have been shrouded or eliminated. keeping pdfs in the layout they came in is a bonus, not a liability. perhaps have a reader mode button, but otherwise let us look at the documents in total, even on tablets and phones. Feels like we lost many tools in the latest build and I have trouble finding ways to get around the loss adding way too many obstacles.

Cant edit a button without adding a new button 1st
In Acrobat, I can't edit an existing button (i.e click on it, right click to get options, etc) without 1st going into the button tool, and placing a new button to get the button selection tool. After that I can edit the existing button then delete the new button. There should be a button selection tool or something similar.

DOCX export with comments that MS Word recognises
The export to DOCX with comments generates a DOCX file that when viewed in MS Word has highlighted text and overlaid text boxes with the comment text for all of the PDF comments, but they are not recognised by Word as comments and as such do not integrate with its comment tool features.
Please export the PDF comments in a DOCX format that MS Word recognises as comments. Thank-you.

Standard dialog of the operating system for saving files
I want to use the standard dialog of the operating system to save files as the default, not a solution from Adobe. This only costs time and is a bad UX experience.

Comments as Components, not a Printing Extra -- Layout, Flow, Consistency
The comments feel like they were added on to the program as a "nice to have" and weren't truly integrated into the layout and design considerations of Acrobat. For example, shouldn't they be treated as another "layer"? Having the comments panel on the right hand side makes it feel like there is a whole separate system that is handling the comments as an after thought and this shows in the way they are then handled downstream.
Printing comments is a nightmare, whether they display our not is a nightmare, when the reply box will cut off a lengthy comment is unknowable and printing such a comment is a nightmare. These really need to be just treated more like a special feature layer where you can picture intentionally which ones to show with a pushpin to hold that one open (or better an actual property and dialogue box with options).
It would be great to know for sure with intentionality:
* Visibility on Screen: Open, Closed, Hover * Visibility on Print: Sidebar, Over Text, Locked Position, Summary Only * Appears in Summary? For Business Users may some extra options like:
* Priority
* Mandatory?
* Seen byFinally along with treating the comments as their own independent layer, they then must not be only an add-on in the print dialogues where I can't actually see how they will look when I ask for a Comment Summary. This should be a page that I can interact with and hopefully customize. This should be a feature that you have to "preview" or "refresh" to generate to save it from being too frustrating as it slows the program down trying to update the summary page as I'm typing new comments. Too many comments and corporate oriented features are too intrusive and demand resources that in all honesty very few people actually use. Don't make "Clippy" or "Copilot" or "Contextual Menu Bar" which are all super pushy and intrusive. Make a button at the end of the comment bar menu that says "Preview Comment Summary Document" and let me save that or have those extra pages be literally added to my document and refreshed on a click.
Ideally this feature would work very similarly to how an "index" or a "table of contents" or programmatic image linking and captioning from a CSV file work already in InDesign.
Thank you...
PhilP.s. This comment layer feature should also allow for not modifying highlighting and commenting on a PDF/A and other archive type formats that we can't touch the underlying original document but may need to redact portions or highlight and circle things for context and wayfinding. I have had to deal with redacting bank statements for a court filing to remove the account numbers and such and it was a whole hoopla.
