[Proofreading] The comment cannot start or end with space or any other whitespace character
Hello,
I'm working as a proofreader and I have used a lot the commenting feature to mark errors and point potential improvements to typesetter working in InDesign.
Especially useful was the feature of typing leading or trailing spaces in comments (e.g., in Add Text or Replace Text features) such that typesetter in InDesign can automatically apply my remarks to the book.
Recently, however, I've discovered that Adobe removed the possibility of leading/trailing whitespaces - see this page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/whats-new.html (and in an attached image).

Snapshot tool
Make the snap shot camera tool available again. I always need to make clear images out of PDFs for our web page. By removing the Snapshot tool there is NO WAY TO MAKE SHARP IMAGES THAT MEET OUR REQUIREMENTS! Put the Snapshot tool back or tell me where the _____ it is hiding in the latest versions of Acrobat.

- new version is crushing still on itself
- unable to run in dark mode - always come back to light

Adobe Pop Ups
Stop popups advertising existing features on a paid subscription. Unchecking the box in preferences does not work, but I expect you know that. Users know that these features exist, so these popups are both annoying and disruptive to work flow. One of your techs couldn't fix the problem, so what is the liklihood most users can? This is a wholesale abuse of the licensing agreement. Lose this functionality.

AI accessibility remediation
Accessibility remediation of PDFs is chewing up an inordinate amount of labor, and at present, the steps required to yield accessible PDFs from InDesign are at a ridiculously unrefined, fussy, deep-in-the-weeds stage. This seems like an ideal application for AI. PLEASE create an AI tool that can handle all of the picky details of PDF remediation. I'd love to be presented with a simple set of questions to define things like reading order (in Acrobat and InDesign), then just have the AI handle giving me a PDF that passes muster and works well with assistive tech. I lost 2 days thinking I could put things back - 2 DAYS of WORK!!!!!!
Adobe didn't even tell me they changed my program, the way it looked, operated etc! It took me an hour to find the phone number. Then to have me tell them RESET (which I don't remember where it was) was going to take me back to my app from before the update. SHAME ON ADOBE!!!! We have to get our work done over the weekend now. The new Adobe Acrobat pro interface doesn't allow you to open pdf's in new windows instead of tabs.
Please bring back the open pdf's in new windows option. I use Alt-Tab to switch between documents. For some reason the development team didn't think that was important anymore and excluded this option in the new interface. Bring it back! stop taking away features.

Popups
Remove the 10 million billion trillion popups when initially running after downloading/signing up for a trial. Also, if you can't get the program to run at least as well as Microsoft word for editing a document... no one will.

document title tab
Expand tab width to display full document title.
This was available in the previous version but was changed in the latest update.
Instead of seeing the full title in the tab, I am now forced to click on the Window Menu to see it.10 votes -
Remove Autotag document from right click menu in accessibility
- Right click menu rework for tagging.
- I work primarily in tagging documents for accessibility, and I frequently use right click action menu to create a new tag. Sometimes over 100 individual uses on a document. There have been countless times where I accidentally click "auto-tag document" instead of "New Tag". I don't believe anyone auto tags a document from this right click menu and I believe it would be good to either remove it from the menu, or create some distance from regularly used features in that menu. Adobe PDFs extremely slow to react
Simple PDFs opening in Microsoft Windows are extremely slow to react to anything (Slow to print, edit and everthing else.) This lagging is 30 seconds to a minute before anything can be done. This is noted by all computers in our office.
This has been going on for 2 days now. It is 12-19-2023. Adobe PDFs were very easy to work with prior to this week.10 votes -

New Acrobat no longer able to open PDF in separate windows
Open documents as new tabs in same window dialog box is gone in the new version. This means there is no choice but to use tabs when opening new documents. It is frustrating for my work flow and adds extra steps.

Get rid of the floating toolbar over my document
See attached image. This toolbar that adds nothing new or useful other than to make it more difficult to access or read documents needs to be easily removed/minimized/docked by the end user. I can't imagine what made anyone think "obstructing access to the document is what users want!"

Poor redesign of interface
Poor redesign!! Placing the page number viewed in the LOWER RIGHT hand corner is NOT intuitive.... Who lets these designers create this, without consideration of the end user? Page numbers and accessibility to see all pages (to re-sequence) should have menu banners on top.

Latest updates to Adobe Acrobat Reader - PATHETIC!!!!!
Why take away the option of a permanent menu bar at the TOP of the screen. (Folks would REALLY like it if they had the choice of enabling / disabling a permanent MENU bar over a drop down list...)
Yes, the drop down list is good for some, but many of us DESPISE it!!!! We want the permanent menu bar.
The newest UI is not the greatest and a good number of us want tool bar option on the far RIGHT anyway...

Stop taking up document real-estate with menus!
All menus should stay at the TOP out of the way, not all over the sides eating up my document real-estate. And now there's a FLOATING MENU RIGHT ON TOP OF MY DOCUMENT that I cannot get rid of. A moderator commented - Choose Help/Check for Updates, and update your acrobat and that floating menu will be docked again. But it says NO UPDATE AVAILABLE.
PLEASE leave the user interface CONFIGURABLE so we can set it up the way we need.I long for the old days when the Acrobat interface was open and simple... instead of trying to cram…

All docs open in tabs - STOP IT!
How can I escape the default of all docs opening in tabs within one window? That does not suit my drafting needs AT ALL. I need them to open in separate windows & I can't figure out how to set that up. HELP.
