Onscreen Ruler in Acrobat does not match distances measured by Measuring tool when using Custom resolution
Hi there! In Acrobat, the rulers used to change size based on the Custom Resolution setting. I'm not sure when this broke, but it's not working anymore. Now when you change the Custom Resolution setting, the ruler stays the same size and does not measure accurately, compared to the Measure tool which does measure accurately.
For an example, see the screenshot. In Preferences / Page Display / Resolution, the system setting is 111, but if I change it to 130 so that pages display larger at 100% resolution, the size of the ruler does not change. When I use the measure tool, it measures a length of 6.08 inches, but the onscreen ruler right next to it says that it is 7 inches.
Based on the document size, that 6.08 inches measurement is accurate and the 7 inches on the onscreen ruler is wrong. So that is a bug.
Next, a related feature request: For my screen, I really want to set the custom resolution to 112.5, so a physical ruler held up to the screen would give accurate measurements at 100% display size. Unfortunately, the Custom resolution field only takes integers. It would be great if I could use a decimal in that field.

Ability to insert text comment without the extra click on the toolbar
I used to be able to click on the spot of the text I wanted to add text, and I could just start typing; the comment would be created automatically; similarly, I could select text and just start typing for the replace text function. Now I have to make an extra click, on the toolbar menu. For manuscript editing, this adds annoying time.

overly scanned and photocopied documens
OCR needs to be standard in all PDF documents. If some documents have been scanned or photocopied multiple times and it's hard to identify the images or the text is hard to recognize with OCR, there should be a banner that says something like "We recommend you use a different copy of this document as it is no longer up to accessibility standards."
Jus to clarify teachers/professors who are transitioning their handouts to digital will often scan in their overly photocopied documents which are hard to make out the pictures and could be hard for OCR to identify text (not sure how OCR works when trying to identify text). Their are also annotations that make it hard for OCR to make out too.

Request Signature Options
In the new 11/13/23 version of AdobeSign, I only have 2 options for recipients: sign or approve. There is NO option to add a cc. I went looking at your "help" and what it shows is a whole list of options, including cc. I think there is a bug that you need to fix. It wasted an hour of my time today trying to figure it out. I gave up and reverted to the old version. Thanks a lot.

Character encoding error
Adobe Acrobat Pro is having issues on conversions from MS Word to a PDF where it is combining characters into a single character. Most of the time it is the combination of lowercase "ti" when they show up together (e.g. Section, information, location). It functions properly in the source file of MS Word, but on the conversion Adobe combines the characters into a single character together and then doesn't recognize what character it is, throwing a Character Encoding Error. To fix you have to go into the editor, delete the combination character, and then retype the "ti" into the text editing box - which is a long process, plus you have to clean up the ADA tags afterwards on each edited text box as the editor tends to break them. Examples of the source document of a .docx that was EXPORTED to a PDF using the Adobe export engine. You can see everywhere it had the "ti" issue in the PDF.

Maintenance
On Tuesday, I downloaded Adobe Acrobat to my laptop with the 7 day free trial. I was able to download the software to the hard drive.
I needed to convert .pdf files to PowerPoint so that I could edit and modify and pull selected slides into a new PowerPoint. Here's what happened.
1) I got an error message saying "Something went wrong. Sorry for the inconvenience. Try again later."
2) I tried again. It was at the point in the process where I was exporting the .pdf file. It told me that 3.5 of 8 MG was loaded. The box appeared with the option of convert to PPTX which I selected. It said "Your file is ready." Then "Something went wrong. Please try again later."
3) On the third try, I got to the point where it was exporting the .pdf file and said "An error has occurred that stopped the process."
At this point, I had been screwing around with Adobe for 2 1/2 hours and it was 12:30 in the morning. I was frustrated, tired and ****** off. I tried to figure out how to contact someone for help. I got your Chatbot which was worthless. It kept asking me to choose from options that weren't the problem.
I then sent a message that I wanted to talk to a real person. I was finally connected to Prateek on the chat function. He wanted to help me where I left off rather than hearing all the problems that I'd had. Then Prateek told me that Adobe was undergoing maintenance and I couldn't do anything for a few hours until that was over.
My suggestion to you is that when you have routine or special maintenance planned or in progress, that a POP UP box appear on the screen saying "Adobe is undergoing maintenance tonight from X:00 o'clock to X+:00 o'clock. Please try again later."
I'm sure I'm not the only person that was trying to get something accomplished on Adobe and ran into error messages with no explanation what was going on.

I am already familiar with this "new and revolutionary" feature...
I don't need to find out about it every time I open Acrobat.3 votes -
Users should have the option to keep the navigation panes (with bookmarks and page thumbnails) on the left
The new version of Acrobat moves tools to the left and navigation tools to the right without giving an option for users to customize the location. Having page navigation on the right is unergonomic because the natural reading order is left to right, and people click bookmark titles and page numbers before reading the page content. In books, the table of contents comes before the main content of the book, and you flip rightwards after choosing a chapter to read.
With navigation on the left, the tools would be on the right-hand side in the new version. This makes intuitive sense as most people will pick up actual tools (like hammers, screwdrivers) with their right hand.
All other Adobe software gives users several UI options. For example, Adobe Photoshop has several layout configurations for users (Essentials, Graphic and Web, Photography, Painting, etc.). There is no reason Acrobat cannot give users similar flexibility, especially when it comes to a configuration (i.e. bookmarks, pages on the left) that has been consistent for over a decade across all major PDF readers.

Hawaiian Airlines Name Change
The particulars of the situation and the volume of work at hand may affect how long it takes A Hawaiian Airlines to process the name change. It is generally advised to start the name-change process as soon as possible to give yourself enough time to complete the necessary paperwork and allow for processing. To inquire about the timeline for name changes in greater detail, reach out to a Hawaiian Airlines representative at +1-800-419-8165
Ultimately, you can change your name on a Hawaiian Airlines ticket, but you must be aware of the charges, rules, and procedures beforehand. It is recommended that you call Hawaiian Airlines Name Change directly if you want to modify the name on your ticket.

Image Field Issue in Adobe Acrobat Mobile App
Dear Adobe Support,
I hope this email finds you well. I'm a freelancer who relies heavily on Adobe Acrobat for fillable PDF forms. However, the image field feature doesn't work properly on the mobile app, causing inconvenience for both me and my clients. While I've suggested alternatives like Foxit PDF Editor, my clients prefer Adobe's familiarity. Could you please prioritize resolving this issue? Your prompt attention would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Banner at account.adobe.com that administrators can set to relay information.
We were looking for a ways to notify our Adobe product users of upcoming changes, such as moving to SSO/Federated IDs. If a user doesn't receive or see an email announcing this, when they're logged off and go back to log in they could see a banner we put up. Can be used for contract and product changes, etc.
Not related to Acrobat, it's for overall Adobe. Chat Support advised that it isn't currently possible and referred me to submit a feature request on this site, but there's no option for general, admin console, or administration so I picked our most used product.
