Windows Updates resets tool sidebar listing
Whenever Acrobat DC updates -- it resets the tools listing i have customized on the sidebar. I wouldn't mind the addition of new tools to the list -- but stop removing the tools i have added. Thanks

Adobe Document Cloud Shapes
1) Drawing shapes
2) For some reason, you can add shapes using Adobe comment tool on Acrobat DC, but you can not do it in an Adobe Document Cloud file.
3) This Feature is needed so that AE firms can collaborate and redline drawings more efficiently.

User Account Password Reset For Admins
I have noticed that there is no way for an admin to reset a users password if the user forgets what he/she set it to. Instead, the user is the only one who can reset their password and sometimes the reset email takes an hour to be delivered. It would be so much easier and more convenient if I were able to reset a users password from my admin account so there is no waiting on receiving an email. I am quite surprised that this is not already a built-in feature just like a lot of other online subscription based software (Office 365, Google Business Mail, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) I hope a feature like this will be considered and added soon because it would be so much easier and more convenient to be able to handle this myself instead of relying on an email that may never be received.

Export PDF - I need to convert PDF to text
I purchased the export function to convert PDF content to text - your, excel, word and RTF options just offer a COPY of the pdf with tables and comments - what a waste of time. I need to convert bank statements to text either in .txt or csv - is this possible? If not I would like to cancel the subscription please.

'Create PDF From Clipboard' Eventually Corrupts Clipboard on Windows 10 (BUG)
Open a viewing system such as Hathi Trust or an ebook platform. Copy a page image, 'Create PDF from Clipboard'. Repeat more than 15 times. On some occasions you cannot then create a PDF from all the open pages. However, after doing this it is then impossible to copy and paste in other windows applications as it appears that the windows clipboard has become corrupted by acrobat. A full reboot is required to fix this.

Autosave failed and more
Hi, I copy paste here a conversation I had yesterday with one of your help service agent (chat). It makes it quicker than re-writing everything. In summary, the automatic file saving failed on me. Indeed, when Adobe Acrobat DC software crashed, I had to close it and when reopening it, it said unable to reopen 3 of the files. I was not too worried since I had saved the most important doc under a new name one hour or so before and would have to redo just a few revision comments. But to my surprise, when I opened it, although the name was the new one, all the modifications/comments done on the 19th had disappeared and it said the last ones were done on the 15th. This means more than the autosave failed, but even the saving under a new name did not work. Here’s my conversation…
"Hello, I worked on a document all afternoon yesterday and I saved the document with all the comments I made at 6:39 pm. Then Adobe crashed, everything freezed. I did not touch it for many hours hoping it would debug. But this morning, nothing. So, I had to restart the program, but the file - even if it has the last name I gave it - does not contain the comments and highlights made yesterday, it only contains those dated January 15th. I couldn't find the latest (yesterday's) saved version.

I understand your issue, Dominique.
There is a default automatic save document changes for every 5 minutes set on Acrobat Pro DC. If you have made changes to the document yesterday, the data would have been saved.
Once you re-launch the application and open the same file, you'll find an option to restore the data. If you would have missed on this option, then we do not have an option to retrieve the data.
I would suggest you to change the automatic save document to one minute so that you will not miss out any data. Below are the steps to change the preference:
Edit > Preferences > Documents > Automatic save document changes.
Let me know if that works?
Me:
Well that's the problem, my preferences do have the automatic saving every 5 minutes (I changed it to 1 min earlier this morning) but I don't know if the automatic save worked or not yesterday but when I had to restart the program this morning, and asked to restore, little windows appeared saying it could not retrieve the files (3).
And then the file version of Jan 15 opened which is weird since I had saved it myself under another name yesterday. The comments an revision notes from yesterday don't show
AFZAL:
I understand your issue however the Acrobat is synced or has auto-saved the file version only till Jan 15th. Hence kindly request you to make the changes again and save the documents. Also, please let me know if it crashes again we can troubleshoot further to fix the crash issue?
Me:
This means hours of work lost, and hours of work to do again. I wonder first time why it crashed. Sooo disappointed from Adobe.
And having to remember exactly allll the comments I made and how I wrote them won't be easy :(
AFZAL:
I can completely understand how much you are upset. I would request you to report to our engineering team who works on these application crashes by clicking on the below link:
https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html
You know, it's not only a question of autosave, cause I saved it under a new name after I made a lots of revision comments and underlying and still they don't appear.
AFZAL:
I can certainly understand your situation, Dominique. If the file was saved with a different name then the saved changes will appear in the saved file location however the data has not been auto saved due to the default changes.
Me:
No, you don't understand... even the changes made before manually saving it, under a new name, don't appear in that newly named file.
AFZAL:
If you have saved the changes to the file which you have edited, the saved changes will appear in the file which you're trying to open. Please make sure you're opening the same file and from the correct file location.
Me:
I do. I've been making researches since early morning (haven't had breakfast) in all my files and it's always the same file coming back... without the last modifications. The IT technician from my organisation helped me too and is as confused as I am. Anyway... Thanks for your support, I give up on trying to retrieve it.
Isn't there a temporary file I could look in?
AFZAL:
I understand that you are upset Dominique, the file might have closed before you saved it or there might be permission issue on your computer according to the group policies set by your IT admin. We request you to post this feedback to our engineering team by using the wish form link below.
https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html
If there is a temporary file stored for that particular PDF, as soon as you re-launch Acrobat the application itslef will give you an option to retrieve or restore the data. As there might be a permission issue, the temporary files may not be accessible on your computer.
Me:
It is not a permission issue since Adobe did restore files in the past, but this time there's been a bug and it couldn't.
Thanks and have nice day.

Animation in Adobe Acrobat and Indesign without flash
Adobe acrobat and indesign, without flash player, are not so powerful and as attractive as before. Everything looks so plain and regular, animation and rich media oftentimes aren't working properly or worked at all. It's the opposite of progress.

Acrobat adds unusable OCSP to documents with long-term validation
Due to OCSP caching, Acrobat most of the time adds stale OCSP to digitally signed documents with long-term validation (LTV)
PAdES-LT and -LTA profiles require signature to include qualified timestamp and OCSP's thisUpdate time must be AFTER signature time as certified by qualified timestamp - otherwise OCSP can't be used for signature validation.
Thus, when adding LTV data to signed documents, Acrobat should always check:
1) whether the signature contains qualified timestamp
2) whether OCSP's thisUpdate time is AFTER the timestamp time (it's not allowed to consider any clock skew here since qualified timestamp servers and OCSP responders should be synchronized to precise time source)Please note, that caching could occur not just in Acrobat, but also on OCSP servers, which can return responses with thisUpdate being in the past like this:
Produced At: Dec 12 16:40:29 2020 GMT
This Update: Dec 12 16:40:20 2020 GMT
Next Update: Dec 12 16:50:20 2020 GMTSuch OCSP can't be used to validate a signature created at Dec 12 16:40:28 2020 GMT!

Mac App Store
I want to download Adobe Acrobat Pro/Reader DC from Mac App Store, because App Store is the place where we can install apps without anxiety, and its auto update is much more convenient, and it can let us purchase the app much easier, especially for students.

Combine Files result loses focus to last-selected open document.
My specs are in the attached screenshots.
Note: I had problems with Acrobat yesterday, so this morning I uninstalled/reinstalled the app via the Creative Cloud app.
With one or more PDFs open, choose File > Create > Combine Files into a Single PDF….
Add any number of files using the Add Files… command or by clicking the Add Files button.
Click the Combine button.
When the resulting PDF appears (Binder[n].pdf), focus returns to the last-selected open PDF.
In general the first thing I want to do when the combined file appears is save and rename it.
It's minor but frustrating to return to the new file, especially if there several PDFs are already open.
I combine files many times every day, so digging through a stack of windows, even with my window manager (Witch from ManyTricks), is a task I'd love to eliminate from my Acrobat workflow.
Thanks for reading and considering adding this bug to your to-do list for a future version.

Constant Windows notifications...
Over the past few weeks I've noticed Acrobat has suddenly started triggering an array Windows notifications to update, install, or restart. (Side question: we seriously need to do a system restart for an Acrobat update? For real?)
I'm not sure what UX philosophy prompted this behavior, but I'd really rather it stop. While I think Acrobat is a solid piece of software, I really don't use it that much and I really don't care when there's an update for it.
Considering how no other Adobe app sends repeated notifications like this, I'm a little confused as to why this now a thing in the first place.

Bug report: Acrobat Pro DC on Mac mangles format when text color is changed
When attempting to change the color of some text in Acrobat Pro DC, the text format is sometimes badly messed up. This happens with text from Acrobat's OCR as well as text imported from other applications. I'm attaching a file that shows both of these cases. To reproduce the problem, open the file in Acrobat Pro DC (on Mac), select Edit PDF, select all of the text on the page, and change the color of the text to black - the text format will get badly mangled when the color is changed. Very frustrating! Changing the color should just change the color, and not mess with the text layout.
