  1. Security Upgrade Required to prevent Editing of secured PDF

    I use the Adobe Acrobat DC to secure it with password so I can prevent the document from being copied or edited. However, when I upload it to Google Drive, it can turn into an EDITABLE document on One single Click. What is the use of this type of encryption?

    Is there a way that I am missing out on that can help achieve secure the document from being copied or edited with such ease because I haven't found any.

  2. Please bring back Clearscan

    I really need Clearscan back. I don't want editable texts, but I just want characters to be smoothed out. I feel that there should be an option for this. I am Japanese, and usually scan Japanese characters. Editable texts might work for alphabets, but not really for Asian characters. I upgraded from Acrobat XI to Acrobat to Acrobat pro 2017, but scanning experience with this 2017 version was the worst as far as ocr was concerned.

  3. TO GROUP PAGES

    Is it jut me? I have just started to use pdf pro and straight away I see how very poor it is. I need to make manuals, which includes to insert multiple pdf files with lots of pages in each, into the structure of the original pdf file. It would be nice to group pages to simplify making pages order and document structure. What a delusion!

  6. New Pro DC subscription purchased, won't install

    I paid $190 (inc. tax) on June 26 for Acrobat Pro DC - yet every time I open Acrobat, there's a little circle in the lower left hand corner saying "subscription expired" with a "buy" button beneath it - I want to know I have what I paid for!

  8. Freeze Issue When Zooming with Scroll Wheel

    When zooming with the scroll wheel, Acrobat freezes and I get a spinning beach ball. The files I am working with are not large, but they do consist of lots of lines/content streams sometimes. If anyone can offer support for this, it would be greatly appreciated.   9. Please add OCR support for East Asian Languages (CJK) in vertical format

    Currently Acrobat Pro DC recognizes Chinese and Japanese (and probably Korean) in left-to right horizontal format, but does not handle vertical text reliably. The apparent reason is that in edit mode text areas are always defined horizontally. An explicit configuration option for vertical text would fix this. The attached file if a pdf scan of the first section of a recently published Japanese book.

  11. Copy-paste for ligatures

    When selecting and copying passages of text from a PDF, commonly ligatures (e.g. special characters that represent a group of two characteris such as "fl"), are copied as special characters.

    Upon pasting into Word or other software these special characters are often not recognized.

    It would make much sense to have "smart" copy-and-paste that automatically converts ligatures into the respective single characters.

  15. Bug in Acrobat's calculation of exponential (Type2) function

    Hi,

    Attached files show a severe bug in calculation of a simple Type2 (exponential interpolation) function in all Acrobat versions, including the latest DC beta.

    The only difference between the 2 files is the type of function used to implement the simple function ‘y = 1 – x’ to accomplish a TR function on a SoftMask that inverts the values.

    The one that is correctly rendered is InvertingTRasType4.pdf which uses a Type 4 (PS) calculator function type with operators:

  16. May/June 2018 - Adobe Pro DC download link - NOT GOOD

    Had to redo PC. Downloaded and reinstalled Adobe Pro DC. No dark theme setting available. Contacted Adobe support. Tech insisted that the only way to help was to remote in. Tech changed some registry settings and from my recollection, the spt tech installed a "repair software". Then my system started revving up terribly. I didn't like what I was seeing. I ended session, reverted back to an image before remote session. Reopened Adobe Pro DC. Turns out the download gave me 2015 (classic) vs newer. Tried to update, it said it was up to date.   17. Issues with FIll in and Sign Feature in Acrobat Pro

    I am having an issue with the "Fill in and Sign" feature. When I open up a PDF that doesn't have fillable fields but I'm just trying to add text to the page, as soon as I hit the letter "A" key, I get an error message that says, "Currently there are no form fields in this PDF. DO you want Adobe Acrobat to detect form fields for you?" This only happens when I have the Single Key Shortcut Accelerators enabled in preferences.   20. Please add the ability to select an application-level default size. Having to select "Actual size" is not good.

    I imagine if the pdf file was created from another application, and was set to "Fit" this print setting carried over to Adobe. If so, there needs to be a way to reset default print setting from print dialog box to change to "Actual." I don't know if if the original file was set to that or not as I don't have it but please look into this. It's very important issue.
