  2. Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 chokes and crashes on documents with large numbers of comments, sometimes when opening them and sometimes when opening the comment tool. Adobe Acrobat DC stays alive but becomes impractically sluggish. Evince and FoxIt are able to comment on such documents without issue. The attached file is from a post on the Autodesk forum since I cannot share my test case.

  4. When moving the slider on the page display in the print dialog box, changing its value updates the preview image. This includes using keyboard left and right keys, clicking on it, dragging the slider, and the left and right buttons to the left and right of the slider.

Except, if it is selected and moved with the mousewheel, it does not update the preview. It does not also update the preview after a few seconds so I do not believe it is intended to specifically not update the preview in this case. Instead I believe this is a simple thing…

  5. go to File > create pdf > create pdf from scanner. the program should open the dialog to make a pdf from the connected scanner, however it opens a dialog prompting us to subscribe to acrobat premium. i'm already a subscriber and connected to the account.

  6. Some users have already encountered this problem as well:
If a PMI is selected in a 3D-PDF, it doesn't highlight the linked feature (surface) per default. Apparently, you need to set 3 settings, this is universal across the latest releases and different platforms:

    https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/pmi-linked-faces-in-3d-pdf-do-not-highlight/m-p/12734910
    https://acrobat.uservoice.com/forums/926812-acrobat-reader-for-windows-and-mac/suggestions/45017893-bug-pmi-cross-highlighting-not-working-for-3d-pd

While two of them aren't critical, the deactivation of the protected mode of the Adobe Reader is not an acceptable solution if you run these PDFs in a commercial environment.
Are there any other solutions? Any ideas how to solve this?

Since I see 3D PDFs as the future standard medium for 3D info exchange,…

  7. I keep getting "an internal error occurred" when I try to preview documents in Windows explorer. It occasionally crashes Explorer. This is happening on two of my machines both running Windows 11. I don't recall this happening in Win 10.

I have to disable the preview function to be able to use Explorer without it wigging out on me.

  8. I had a header image error in converting docx to pdf on https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/home?pdfnow%21verb=word-to-pdf&x_api_client_id=adobe_com&x_api_client_location=word_to_pdf . Today I contacted the Acrobat tech support and was instructed to inform the problem here. I hope this request helps. Thanks.

  9. Hello,
So until recently (today is Nov 17 2022), Acrobat Pro had an option in the Preferences to turn off the Recent files window as default. Now that option is gone, and I wish Adobe will restore that option. Now every time my documents are closed with command-w, I get the Recent files window, and I have to close it with another command-w or manually by clicking on the window. I'm not sure if this is a new feature or is actually a bug that should be fixed. I would expect that a single command-w should close the window completely.

  10. We need to be able to read our scanned order forms and type into emails at the same time, not with a split screen. We need to be able to have Acrobat have a feature to be checked to have Acrobat show "Always On Top" of other windows, so the windows behind acrobat can be full screen. This simple setting would really help all of us. Thank you.

  11. As folks fill out a web form, the additional step of having to click a link in your email to finish the submission is a pain and I would prefer being to turn that off.

  12. The line endings on gestures within ink annotations are defaulting to being rounded and prior to the most recent adobe acrobat update, they were flat. Please switch them back to default to flat/none or provide a way to set them to flat/none via javascript (or some other configuration).

For example, we have OCR and other downstream processes that no longer work efficiently or work at all with the rounded line ending updates.

  13. After the update from version 22.002.20191 to version 22.003.20258, we've detected an issue with the new Microsoft Purview Information Protection plug-in.

It can happen, that Adobe Acrobat DC crashes, if a MIP protected PDF file shall be opened. In this case the opening process hangs and Acrobat DC doesn't react any longer and you have to terminate the app.

This happens, because the cached account information for MIP are obviously unusable (e.g. corrupt or invalid). The only solution currently is, to clear the cache via the "Clear remembered account information" button.

But many standard users aren't aware of this possibility/solution…

We only have logs for Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  15. When you select, flag a chapter for accessibility, the flags could be of multiple colors, red for important, green for interesting and orange for read later.
And not remain gray as unselected chapters.

  16. I just got notified that someone sent me a file to sign. I clicked on the notification and I get taken to the Home screen - Recent. I see a list of files (most of which are files I have signed) and I can see when the file was last opened. I would like to see what actions have been taken or more importantly are needed (signing for instance). Or, clicking on that notification should take me to a screen that shows me the files I need to sign and if I am up to date (because the notification came…

  17. Reader version 2022.003.20263 (latest as of 11/10/22) Emailing does not work

We have a fillable PDF form that emails the data. The form has been working for years. Uninstalling Reader and installing an older version makes the emailing feature work again. Updating to the latest version, makes it stop working.

The email preference setting in Reader is set to a Gmail account. With Reader version 2021.001.20135 after clicking the submit button a browser window opens and allows you to log into the Gmail account and Reader creates the message in the Drafts folder (as it should). Upgrade to Reader version…

  18. Add a collation feature to Combine Files to select each source file's layout, ie 1-10 or 10-1, odd page numbers or even, etc, then what order they will merge in. So that if I scan a document on an automatic document feeder with pages 1-10 odd only, then flip the pages and rescan immediately from 10-1 even pages, the software will be able to collate the pages from 1-10 in the correct order. Include original file orientation so they can be automatically flipped 180 degrees too. This would be very handy for large scans on a single-side ADF scanner. Thank…

  19. A user tasked me with auto populating the date field with the date a field was signed on.

The digital ID has a feature that shows when the ID was placed in the signature field, but it would be nice to have a feature where when one field is filled, another field is populated, depending on the desired action.

  20. Reading mode based on browser Reading Mode function. I'm aware that Acrobat already has a "reading mode" but that just hides UI elements. Reading Mode in browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge extracts the text from the page, strips away all formatting rules such as fonts and colours and re-displays the text in a pre-set format in the user's selected font.

This is helpful when the page is poorly designed and hard to read. I am looking at research papers for my projects and find the single-spaced Times New Roman formatting hard to read so this would be…
