Shortcut Key for Extracting Page
Please consider assigning a shortcut key for extracting pages from documents. For instance, use "Ctrl+Shift+X" to extract pages from documents and make deleting pages after exaction as default. Thanks.

Skip "save in recent folder" step
When I save-as a document the recent folders presented in the "save in recent folder" pop-up are virtually always irrelevant. This needlessly adds an extra step for me to then "Choose a different folder." I just want the option to immediately open up to File Explorer, which already has recent folder functionality.

Please make the button less noticeable
Naturally, I use adobe acrobat reader mainly for reading pdfs. However, with the new update, I find the big bright colourful button in the top right corner very distracting. Acrobat reader is designed mainly for viewing pdfs, so it would make sense for it to have a streamline user interface that puts emphasis on the pdf being viewed. While that is the strategy adopted by most pdf viewers, it seems like acrobat reader took a turn for the worst and decided to sacrifice user interface in order to force AI features that nobody asked for into their users workflow.

Can't select pages in Organize pages
Occasionally, after inserting pages into a document, you cannot select any pages in the Organize pages tool. Neither using the mouse, or keyboard such as Ctrl+A. The page is highlighted as you move your mouse, but you cannot select pages to rearrange them. The only way I have found to resolve this is to close and reopen Acrobat.

Make New Acrobat Toolbar Fully Editable
First of all: great new clean look of Acrobat interface, I really like it. finally I can put my long desired "save as..." button in the toolbar, crazy it is not there by default but I can live with that.
Now why are the above elements not editable? For example the most used tools as the black arrow and the hand tool are hidden both under the arrow tool. It's one click extra again every time I like to switch from the one tool to the other. Like in other Adobe applications, please make that toolbar fully editable so we can make two separate tool buttons from it.
Also please, please, make the toolbar dockable in the interface. I know some Apple users love floating elements in their interfaces, but some users don't. I don't like a toolbar floating over my document. Just make it dockable like in other Adobe apps.

New design is hideous on desktop
I have decided to post this as a new idea just to highlight how HIDEOUS the new design is on the desktop. If this design on the desktop continues to 1 January 2024 the new year, I will change the default pdf reader on all PCs in my organisation to a competitor.
What kind of nonsensically non-inclusive design is this???? The work of laziness?15 votes -

Maximum compression
A client is working on a 100 MB file size for a tender document. Due to the sensitivity of the data, they prefer to use something other than the cloud features of sharing PDF files. We are looking for the maximum compression available with the current PDF. However, it must compress our required 10 MB result after compression. We need a solution to compress the PDF files to the desired size so that we can look forward to PDF Pro and request special compression features.

Feature Request: automatically make url links in comments clickable
I'd love if all versions of acrobat had the automatic function where if someone pastes a URL in a comment it is clickable.
I work in a studio that does a lot of product related designs and when the marketing team provides feedback they do so in a marked up pdf using comments (they often have little to no knowledge of how to do more complex things in acrobat so would not use "proper" ways to add links. We often get design feedback via comment markups and they might paste 6 links in a comment that I then have to painstakingly individually copy just to paste in browser and open. It would save a ton of time if they were clickable without anyone having to do anything (like in emails/slack/word/other apps and programs).

New UI is unintuitive and difficult to use
- It is extremely hard to find things. Just as an example, I struggled with as simple a task as printing. It is not at all obvious to find the print button. No other application I use makes this as difficult as your new UI.
- This may either be another example of point 1, or the function is missing. Where is the button to display info about the application? The "About Acrobat" button? I can't find it.
- The application wastes massive amounts of my screen space. Stick to the purpose of the application and just display the document. I don't need file management, that's already provided by the OS, and in a much better way.
Acrobat used to be a slick program, and I enjoyed using it to view documents. Now it is a bloated nightmare, and I dread having to use it.

Acrobat 23.008.20470 Update NO GOOD
The last 2 upgrades are terrible! Slow to open and slow to process, eg. export function. Insufficient testing prior to release. Adobe team, you must improve this!

The new version sucks big time. Why take away certain features & make the tool bar on the side where we can't move it to the top task bar.
The new version of Adobe sucks, it is totally user un friendly and requires a lot more work and navigating to do what was much simpler. Why change something that was working fine. Do you even test drive the new version to see how it is prior to sending out to the public. And the program keeps freezing when adding pics and the "restore " version doesn't work at all when you have to close the program and reopen continuously. Why pay for this piece of garbage software. Can I charge you for all of my lost time trying to make this work?? I am so disappointed with Adobe.

The new UI is no good at all.
I have used Acrobat for many, many years and this update to the UI is very frustrating. I don't really know why it is confusing, but it is. I don't see why the Tools needed to be grouped into tiny icons in a constant, annoying side-bar, they were much easier to pick and use (especially for newbies who I may teach to use the software in our office) when they were on their own tab, with the smaller handy icons on the right being useful once you understood each tool. It was what made Acrobat the preferred software against other PDF software.
I use the Measuring Tool a lot. Before there were 3 simple icons added along the top bar (same as most tools), but now I have a large, unnecessary window pane all the way down the left side of the page which is very annoying. I mark up Architectural Designs and now I have an ugly side bar taking up valuable Monitor space, which means my pdf and mark up area is smaller to work with.
Commenting using shapes, lines, arrows and callouts was neat and tidy before, with all tools clearly shown along the top bar and very easy to find, now they are in drop downs at the left and I am still struggling to find the square, circle and arrow tools, with an extra click to get to each one! I had a colleague give up the other day when I asked him to mark up a PDF for me because he doesn't use the software every day and was really struggling to find the right tools.
Please, for the love of god, switch it back to the old UI. The simple User Interface is what made Acrobat the best PDF software out there! You had nailed it, and now you've just gone backwards.
In my attachments, why would you feel the need to put the green marked toolsets along the top which are very clear and easy to access, into a large unnecessary pane on the left with awkward drop downs? It makes no sense to me.
ALSO, why would you make it harder to find the page scrolling tools? Now down in the bottom right and trying to find "Fit One Full Page" yesterday was driving me crazy.
Sort it out Adobe, really disappointing updates. Don't try and fix what isn't broken!

We don't want AI in use at our company. We should be able to turn it off for all users and not block domains as suggested by you support team.

GET STARTED POP UP
I recently reinstalled Adobe on my PC, after reinstalling it I now keep getting the Getting Started Pop up with every file I open. I open over a 100 PDF files a day so this gets really annoying really fast. Is there a bug in the system or something I'm not clicking on to make it recognize that these messages have already been shown to me?

Return the User Interface to be Accessible for Reading
The new interface violates ADA laws and makes it impossible to have a user experience for anyone who is old enough to need reading glasses. Plus switching everything around makes it disportionately difficult for those who are left-handed. I cannot believe in the era of inclusion that Adobe would be so insensitive and hinder the productivity of so many users.

Typewriter
Adobe, bring back the old Typewriter tool. We need a simple way to add text to an existing PDFs. The current workarounds of using the Edit Text or Add a Text Field tools are not the same and are far more cumbersome than the old Typewriter.
The problem with the "Edit Text" tool is that it attempts to edit ALL text in the PDF so often times when you try to add new text, it attempts to modify existing background text in the document.
The problem with the "Add a Text Field" tool is that you have to add, resize, and give unique names to every single place you want to add text in a PDF. For long forms, this process takes far longer than it should.
Please Adobe, bring back the old Typewriter tool and give us a simple way to add text on top of a PDF!

Acrobat e-sign always defaults dates to DD/MM/YY
(non classic experience but similar there too)
It's a very frustrating especially for one doc with multiple signatures to keep resetting the date to MM/DD/YYYY. it always defaults to DD/MM/YYYY. Is there some way to just set in preferences so it's a global change?1 vote
