Acrobat Reader patch updates bloat Windows Installer folder
Acrobat Reader patch updates bloat Windows Installer folder. Look at any computer that has had Acrobat Reader installed for a few years. The C:\Windows\Installer folder will have dozens of Gigabytes taken up by Adobe .msp files. Check the size of the folder before and after uninstalling Adobe Reader - the folder will decrease in size significantly. Reinstalling Adobe Reader results in a smaller size. It would be very helpful to the user for Acrobat Reader's update process to achieve this size reduction automatically. There are millions of customers losing dozens of Gigabytes each, this should be a top priority to fix. Attached image shows the result of uninstalling Acrobat Reader, the red-outlined files were all deleted.

Read Aloud is Not Following Reading Order
Despite spending hours rearranging text elements in an interactive PDF exported from InDesign (both InDesign and Acrobat up to date as of March 2026), the read aloud feature is not following the reading order. It's also breaking up sentences despite there being no break in the tagged area.
It took so long to get elements in the right order. It's also incredibly frustrating having to save a new backup after every 5 pages because Acrobat's Reading Order panel is so buggy and unreliable. On top of that, it doesn't even have a single undo function, let alone multiple undoes.
When are you going to sort out all of the many, many issues in the InDesign/Acrobat accessible PDF workflow?

"Highlight Current Bookmark" doesn't work
The "Highlight Current Bookmark" option doesn't work. It is very useful when it works, so it should be fixed.
Issue:
I have the "Highlight Current Bookmark" option enabled, and working bookmarks in my document. If scroll to a certain part of the document, or jump to it by navigating search results, no bookmark is highlighted. If I then enable "Expand Current Bookmark", the corresponding bookmark is expanded, and the highlighted boomark becomes visible. But then when I scroll further, the highlighting doesn't change, and I need to click "Expand Current Bookmark" again to update the highlighting, even if I am within the same chapter and the bookmark is already expanded. As you can see in the attached screenshot, even though I have "Highlight current bookmark" enabled, none of the bookmarks are highlighted.
Expectation:
If I have "Highlight Current Bookmark" enabled and "Expand Current Bookmark" disabled, the current chapter is automatically highlighted as I am navigating through the document (regardless of navigation method). If I have both "Highlight Current Bookmark" and "Expand Current Bookmark" enabled, the chapter I am currently viewing is automatically expanded in the bookmark bar, and the lowest-level bookmark is highlighted.
Use case:
When I am scrolling through the document or jumping from search hit to search hit, I always want to see which chapter/section I am in the document, as it is very important for understanding the context. The "Highlight Current Bookmark" option doesn't work. A hotkey to next bookmark
A hotkey to skip to the next Bookmark would be very helpful.
I use fullscreen mode a lot to scroll through large documents with bookmarked chapters. I would love the ability to skip ahead to the next (or previous) bookmark without having to exit out of fullscreen to navigate the bookmark panel.

Adobe Sign
When send an E-sign to another party/or to client.
But when we need to make edits and adjustment, can we edit directly on the file itself? Instead have to cancel and edit then redo apply client's name, where to sign, where to fill info?
DocuSign has this, only restrict we can't edit it if one party already signed.

E-Sign bug when changing field type
Adobe freezes and shuts down when I click a new fill-in field, then try to change the type. For example, a text box to a Name box. It freezes and shuts down. Have been clicking "send report" for a week now, and nothing has been done. Quit with the AI bull#### and fix actual important features.

Cannot sign a document using a certificate
When selecting from the menu "Use a certificate" no any options for signing appear in the left hand side panel. Before, it was possible to perform signing using selection to place the stamp, and timestamping. None of those options is available after the recent update. That is a critical bug and MUST be addressed!!!!

25.001.20744 bug : only prints part of page on RICOH printers
Version Adobe Acrobat Reader : 25.001.20744.0
Windows version : Windows 11 24H2 build 26100.6584
Ricoh Printer driver : PCL 6 v3.2.0.0
When printing on a Ricoh device (tested with both Ricoh IMC3000 and Ricoh MPC3003) only a part of the page is printed when you print to scale or fitting.
same document printed right on previous acrobat version.
Tested on 2 computers give the same problem.
Document also prints ok if "print as image" is selected.4 votes -
compare tool
When comparing, it used to be that only the characters that had been changed would be highlighted but now it highlights the entire line which causes confusion. We'd like to have it go back to being just the changed characters being highlighted.
Thank you!

Batch/Automate Import Data for Form Fields
Currently we can import data into form fields. Now this may save some time but what if you have an excel sheet with 100+ entries?
This can be automated with code however it has some major flaws compared to the built-in import data option. The code option is 1) inaccessible for average users 2) needs the exact amount of form fields as table headers.
Number 2 is the major drawback, it means you can't have any field on your PDF that won't be modified by the table. What's strange is that this doesn't occur using the non-automated equivalent.
There are many, many alternatives that have this as a selling point and it seems like the infrastructure is already there to have it in place. Would save countless hours, headaches and potentially finding a different program to complete one task.
Thanks!

Preserve digital signature validity when merging signed PDFs into a single flattened package
When submitting to authorities one of the requirements is to hand in a flattened PDF with months/years of work combined. This needs to be executed by merging the existing signed off PDF files to one file without losing the integrity of any of the signatures or properties. What would be needed for this to be possible is to be able to keep the "lock" on all documents and combine so no changes will be made in the documents without other parties knowing about it. Unfortunately making a portfolio or only signing off after the merge is not sufficient and doesn't meet the requirements of the authorities for it to be ready for submitting. With this feature request we would want something to make this happen without altering the single documents after signing or compromising on the legal validity.

ORGANIZING PAGES - More frequently than not, the tab doesn't work as it should.
How about you guys start making it so I can effectively organize my pages when I click "Organize Pages"???
This may be a crazy and novel thought, but I should not have to be locked out of clicking individual pages because AdobePDF is incompetent and slow.
How do I fix this personally? I have to SAVE the file. Why do I have to do that to restore normal organizational functionality? Fix it.

One-Time Unlock & Simplified Secure PDF Sharing
A new lightweight PDF security mode for Adobe Acrobat called “One-Time Unlock”.
The idea is to allow users to password-protect a PDF only for the first access. Once the recipient successfully enters the password and opens the file, the password protection is automatically removed from the PDF, allowing normal access afterward without repeatedly asking for the password.
This feature is intended for users who want simple and convenient secure sharing rather than strict permanent encryption.
Additional functionality could include:
- Automatic random password generation
- Manual password creation
- One-click “Copy Password” option
- Optional expiry after first unlock
- Custom maximum password attempts set by the sender
- Automatic lock or access denial after exceeding the allowed attempts
- Simple sharing experience for non-technical users
This would improve usability for common sharing scenarios such as resumes, contracts, invoices, portfolios, educational documents, and temporary confidential file sharing.
Current PDF password protection is often too rigid for casual or semi-secure workflows. A lightweight “unlock once” system with customizable access control would provide a better balance between security and convenience.
