  3. If you have the "new" DC Reader...get rid of it.
    it's slow.
    it's choppy.
    The phrase "Not Responding" shows up more than a taxi in New York City.
    This has got to be the crappiest Adobe product I've ever had the displeasure of working with.
    I've told my company's IT department to start looking for something else.
    Acrobat Reader DC is pure American ****.

  5. Saving a pixel perfect Adobe Illustrator as a pdf doesn't keep the pixel perfect content when previewing in Acrobat. It distorts one line pixels to two pixels in random area. Icon are distorted as well.

  6. When doing an advanced search (ctrl+shift+F), you used to be able to search for a string (which it still does) and select all of those instances in the PDF (no longer highlights every instance; need to do one-by-one). This was a quick & useful feature for highlighting all instances of a certain text string in a PDF drawing.

  7. Can you provide a "plain English" description on how to create a "batch processing" type Action that can be use on multiple files at once? I have hundreds of files that I need to set open options on and add specific bookmarks to. Trying to do this one at a time is NOT happening. Urgent please!

    Hi victorm28962446,

    When you delete any file from portfolio, the portfolio index or File list in portfolio get updated automatically, you just need to save the changes made by you.

  9. In a preferences option such that the Tools pane (on right hand sight of document window) will or will not display on PDF file open.

    his will save time for what I anticipate is a large percentage of users that open PDF documents to read / comment without necessarily using the tools pane on RH side of the window.

  12. Bug.
    Customer supplied files from InDesign cs6 with .tiff picture over a solid spot colour.
    When converting the file to CYMK via acrobat pro, the tiff picture corrupts leaving a white space instead of the correct image.
    PDF fix up fail to spot or fix issue. Could only be solved by editing original InDesign files, changing spot to CYMK and informing customer.

    Come on guys. i have been saving Word files for years as PDFs.

    I'm an Adobe ACI in five Adobe products. I know what I'm doing but tonight I'm tryiing to save a Word document as a PDF and now it's saying I have to register the product.... which is on the Cloud? ... and I've already downloaded the latest version. and registered it...

    Oh yes, am tryinjg to register.... but no options to do so.... it just basically says.......... well........ you know...... xxxxxxx

    What the ... ?

    Come ON... I'm getting a bit sick of the lack…

  15. Adobe newsletter touting availability of Compare feature doesn't mention this is a Pro-only feature. The link from the article lists step-by-step instructions for using this cool feature never once mentioning that it's only available for Pro version. The screencap shows Pro but it is tiny font and very easy to miss.

    This required an investment by me and your customer support to resolve this. Better communication on your end about who has access to your features is a good thing.

  16. When using the Flatten Transparency Preflight Fixup, transparent images that are flattened are heavily compressed, introducing extreme JPG artifacts and banding in smooth gradients.

    This does not match flattening out of Indesign or Illustrator or using the Flattener in the Acrobat Print Production tools. We would expect to get the same results with the Preflight fixup that would be produced with other flattening methods.

    See attached with examples of original unflattened art, art flattened with Acrobat Print Production and Acrobat Preflight fixup.

    Preflight produces a severely degraded image with visible banding and large artifacts that aren't visible on the other…

  17. Steps to reproduce:
    Opened Acrobat DC --- a popup about integration with Microsoft Office appeared.

    Environment: MacOS 10.11.6, Acrobat DC 2017.009.20044

    Expected result:
    I should be given immediate access to the Close button or the Continue button.

    Observed result:
    The popup hijacked the app, with a spinning beachball cursor, for several seconds - at least 10 seconds. This is not the only performance issue I've seen - I've reported others that still aren't fixed. It all ads up.

  19. I have to put watermark (my logo" on jpg files in a folder and then save new files to another folder; with an action doing:
    - add watermark (my logo)
    - save in a folder (same name+export as jpeg)
    Compared to the version 7 (I used it until yesterday) it is much slower and works worse because to avoid having to close hundreds of pdf files (which are created do not know why) I had to add the action "do not save": note that one pdf always remains open to close at the end anyway.
    This is on Windows 10
