Bookmark text is wrapped incorrectly
Bookmarks are wrapped incorrectly when resizing the bookmarks pane.
Expected behaviour:
Reducing the bookmarks pane's width should wrap bookmarks which are too long.
Actual behaviour:
Bookmarks are wrapped in two steps as the pane is being resized.
Firstly, a new line is created, but the bookmark text is not wrapped around.
Then, if you reduce the width even further, the actual wrap is done.1 voteSince we havent got much users asking for the same, we are closing this thread for now.
We’ll revisit if we hear back this againThanks

Add an option to "save as PDF" from MS Word with "Bookmarks panel and Page" by default
Add an option to the Microsoft Word Adobe Acrobat driver that allows to save as PDF with the "Navigation Tab" - "Bookmarks panel and Page" property of the PDF file activated by default.
Currently it needs to be activated manually. The driver only saves with the "Navigation Tab" - "Page Only" option.
Other Drivers such as AutoCAD; however, save as PDF with the "Navigation Tab" - "Bookmarks panel and Page" property of the PDF file activated by default.

Bookmarks based on styles are misdirected if target is also in TOC without page numbers.
Bug: For bookmarks based on styles from a Word document, the bookmark will go to the table of contents entry for a heading instead of to the heading itself if the heading is also included in a table of contents with page numbers omitted. The expected behavior is that the bookmark will go to the content in the document, not to the table of contents. If the TOC includes page numbers, the bug does not occur. See attached file for detailed steps on how to reproduce.

Scrolling speed is too fast on large documents
For whatever stupid reason, Adobe Acrobat on Windows (both reader and Standard and Pro) change their scrolling speed when it comes to large documents. This is ridiculous, as if you're reading a textbook suddenly the pages fly by with the slightest touch.
The preferred behavior can be found in MacOS's preview: scroll speed is proportional to sequential scroll events. Thus, for large documents, users that want to scroll quickly can do so but navigating a small number of pages is much more reasonable.

"Enable scrolling" setting does not persist
When "Enable scrolling" is off, as it is by default, mouse scroll can scroll 10 pages or more in an instant, if the vertical page size is a little larger than the screen. It is unusable for me, so I need to change the setting every time I open a document, since the setting does not persist.
Why not make it so the setting will persist, so I don't need to change it every time I open a document?

If I select 'Enable scrolling' in Acrobat, why not remember that between runs?
It's a bit repetitious to have to re-select View->Page display->Enable scrolling every time I open a file.

Automatic bookmark building
There should be a feature when editing PDFs to build bookmarks from headings/text format.
2 votesHi,
Greetings!
You can directly create bookmarks by selecting the text and pressing ctlr/cmd+b.
The bookmark will be created with required heading or text. -
macOS Big Sur Beta 10: Page scrolling unbearably slow
Even in the latest public beta of MacOS 11, overall performance of Acrobat is sluggish. The app may take over a second to respond to a page scroll request via track pad and scrolling will be choppy.
1 voteHi,
Sorry for the issue that you are facing here.
We tried this at our end but couldn’t get a reproducible case.
Could you please share your BigSur Beta10 Machine configuration/System Information?
Also could you please share a Screen recording video of the sluggish behavior that you observe?
Thanks

"Enable Scrolling" DEFAULT On/Off Setting in Preferences -> Page Display
On the new Acrobat, there is no setting to change the default for this. It defaults to ON at all times. I am a legal professional, and this would be a big improvement for me. Users who regularly navigate long PDFs of hundreds of pages or more would benefit from having this setting OFF when opening documents, instead of having to disable it every time. As a side note, to my mind, a selection available from the current settings SHOULD achieve this, but currently does not - see attached. There is currently no difference that I can discern between Single…

Acrobat crashes when clicking on hyperlink referencing internal bookmark
I have a PDF document created from a Latex file, rendered via xelatex/MikTex. The document contains several section bookmarks as well as internal hyperlinks (hyperref package) to some of those bookmarks.
When I open the PDF in Acrobat Reader (on Windows 10, Vers 2023.008.20458) and i click on one of those hyperlinks, Acrobat crashes instantly. However if I click on one of the bookmarks (regardless if linked or not) in the "Bookmarks"-sidepanel (acrobat scrolls to the bookmark then) and AFTER THAT scroll back and click on the same hyperlink, it works without issues.
Opening the same PDF…

Enable persistent settings for page resize and scrolling
Create a persistent store for the Page Resize and Scrolling options - Just leave them in the same state they were when the app was last closed or provide a tab in the Preferences dialog where they can be set.

View/page display/enable scrolling - doesn't work when selected
When I open a PDF, and select View/page display/enable scrolling - it doesn't work. I have discovered (trial and error) that if I change the window size (click on bottom corner and drag/resize diagonally a little, larger or smaller) that that seems to correct the enable scrolling issue. It is frustraitng to have to do that with each PDF I open, since I review multiple-paged PDFs a good bit of the day. Please fix it. Thanks. (iMac user)

Scrolling while saving
How is it that you can't scroll the document while trying to save it? I've never understood why this doesn't work. Get to the end of the document but need to save an invoice number of something else from the top? Too late, you already hit save and now you can't find the number, so you have to close out of the save box, and then scroll up, and then try to resave the document with the number you need. Absolutely inefficient and a waste of time.

search whilst auto scrolling
Some keyboard inputs are deleted when searching whilst autoscroll is enabled. Makes searching infuriating.
Enable auto scroll on a document
Open the search box to search for text in the document
Start typing in the search box
As you type you will find some characters are not displayed in the search field3 votes -
split PDF by bookmark level of choice
At present it is only possible to split a PDF by top level bookmark; it would be great to have the option to choose the bookmark level (e.g., if there are nested bookmarks in a document). There are PDF editors around that do have this option.

"Highlight Current Bookmark" doesn't work
The "Highlight Current Bookmark" option doesn't work. It is very useful when it works, so it should be fixed.
Issue:
I have the "Highlight Current Bookmark" option enabled, and working bookmarks in my document. If scroll to a certain part of the document, or jump to it by navigating search results, no bookmark is highlighted. If I then enable "Expand Current Bookmark", the corresponding bookmark is expanded, and the highlighted boomark becomes visible. But then when I scroll further, the highlighting doesn't change, and I need to click "Expand Current Bookmark" again to update the highlighting, even if I am…2 votes -

The new UI should layout with Bookmarks on the left and Tools on the right
I hope the new version of Acrobat UI layout with bookmarks on the left and tools on the right.
Currently, it is the opposite—bookmarks on the right and tools on the left. The majority of languages used worldwide are read from left to right, but the workflow in Acrobat goes from right to left, which is inconsistent with general reading habits. Many users complain about this on the internet.
It is suggested that bookmarks be placed on the left and tools on the right, or that there should be customizable layouts.
1 vote -
Scrolling each column of text separately
Problem: when I read pdfs with more than one columns, I have to constantly scroll down each column, return to top, and continue scrolling. This is not only a hassle but also seeing other information in other columns usually distract me from the text I am reading.
proposed solution: It would be nice to have an option to scroll columns of text separately. For example the column that my mouse pointer is on it would become clear for reading and I could scroll it down, while the rest of the columns are slightly blurred to avoid distraction. By moving…
