  1. In Adobe Acrobat Pro DC's Prepare Form mode, before one of the more recent updates, I could click and drag my mouse over 1 or more interactive PDF form fields to select/modify and move them as desired.

When I wanted to click away/deselect them, the selected items would simply deselect no matter where I clicked (including existing text elements) and leave me in Prepare Form mode.

Now, when I attempt to deselect interactive fields by clicking on any element, such as text, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC takes me to Edit Text & Images mode.

    If I want…

  2. After a form has been created, the newest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro seems to unilaterally detect the field. After the field is detected, the ability to key in text into the form is unilaterally disabled ("greyed out") in favor of a "Request e-signatures" field. This is extremely annoying and defeats the purpose of a fillable form. Any ideas on how to fix this?

  3. After last update, there is a change in how creating form is working. Form editing (creatin) now contain text edit, which is for me higly unwanted feature, since there is no turn on/off. I am editing 30+ fields in once and selecting all of them is impossible. My form has lot of text boxes and while creating pdf, i dont need them to edit anymore. I just want to edit form fields. Once you mouse down or mouse up on any text, it will ruin the multiple select of fields and start editing text. We…

  4. In previous versions of Adobe Acrobat Pro, I was able to select what type of formatting I'd like the text field to be, such as Phone Number, Zip Code, and decimal numbers as described here https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/pdf-form-field-properties.html#format_tab_for_form_field_properties.

However, that option appears to not exist any more?

  5. I installed a couple of fonts from Adobe Fonts site. Namely Blue Goblet and Typeka. I installed on my computer using Adobe Cloud. However, for some reason I can select Blue Goblet as a font for a text form field (under "Appearance") with no errors, and it shows perfectly on any computer and on other pdf readers as well (Chrome, Edge etc) but when I select Typeka font it gives this error:

"The selected font cannot be embedded in the PDF file because of licensing restrictions. If the PDF file is viewed on a system that does not have this…

  6. I work in InDesign. I create the form and place the various fields. When I export to interactive PDF, the default text field properties include "Check spelling" = yes. I have to edit all the text fields to change "Check spelling" = no. Please allow default text field properties to be changed GLOBALLY and PERMANENTLY.

  7. Adobe Acrobat Pro needs to have the ability of research fonts when you create a text field into a form on windows, it's ridiculous that windows doesn't have a research for fonts, on adobe on Mac you can type at least the 3 initial letters of the fonts to find it!

Closing this for now until we have further info on the request.
    Can revisit later

  9. Allow the setting of maximum font size for a field when creating a fillable form. This will prevent huge text in a field if there is a small amount of text but would still allow text to reduce in size automatically to fit within the field if needed.

  10. Problem: When creating a fillable form, you either have to go in order of fields you create or in order of field creation number. When I receive forms that have already been given a great deal of time, the tabbing functionality is not ideal due to the function obeying the rule of field creation/ purposeful placing in the fields scrollbar. This becomes a chore when dealing with hundreds of fields. Ideally at this moment you want to scrap the whole creation and begin in a more formal and tedious recreation.

    Solution: Multiple click/drag selectable …

  11. Highlight Form Field function draws over the form field so instead of a nice button I get an ugly blue/red rectangle that is acting buggily anyway. It makes the document useless and I have to find a different solution than pdf questionnaire. Forcing people to switch it in some advanced menu is out of question. This feature should be on per-document basis with possible override in Acrobat preferences where you specifically state that you want to override document settings.

I have forwarded your request to engineering. It will be picked up after prioritization. We will contact you if we need some more information on this.
    Thank you for your patience.

    1. Renaming Date Type field changes it to Text Type

Issue: Renaming any Date type field when using "prepare form" in Adobe Pro, causes the field to be changed to a Text Type field. This causes issues with errors when uploading/downloading the form.

    1. Replication Steps:
Open the Sample Document attached in Adobe Pro
Click Tools > Forms & Signatures > Prepare Form
This should load the open form into the prepare form tools
Right click on the "Date" Field
      Click 'Rename Field'
Change the name to: Date (no "afdate" suffix)
      Hit Enter
      See in…

  12. I simply want the global find-and-replace functionality found in most word processors to work on a PDF form. I have a 129-page application form in pdf format. It asks questions in form fields to which I respond in data fields. I wish to do a global replace of text in the data fields (say to change a name of a person/organisation). To do so, I have to take several steps which have very undesirable side-effects. I have to flatten the file. I can now use replace, but... the look-and-feel of the original document is significantly…

  13. Create 'object styles' for interactive text fields and buttons which allows the user to specify the attributes of the field which can then be applied to newly created fields

  14. When a docx is saved as a PDF (by Microsoft Word 2019 MSO (16.0.12624.20348) 64bit) and form-fields are added in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2020.006.20042, and the resulting PDF with formfields is then filled out and saved using Preview.app 2020.006.20042 on a Mac, the resulting PDF hides the filled out content of form-fields. Clicking into the filled form field reveals the contents. The PDF renders fine in other PDF viewer implementations.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create an empty word document and save it as a PDF.
    2. Open the PDF with Adobe…

  15. I am currently stuck on a project here due to the sometimes unpredictable and difficult to work with form field auto detection in Acrobat. I am designing a rather complex form in InDesign and exporting the PDF to have the form fields auto-generated in Acrobat.
Radio Buttons in particular are the trickiest to work with because of their demanding conditions. It is leading to a frustrating end-user experience when the radio button form fields get generated as circular check boxes which is intuitive and confusing. It seems to unexpectedly incorrectly interpret them as check boxes in some cases,…

  18. When creating a form, allow text fields to be linked so when someone is filling out the form the text wraps into the next field instead of making the font size smaller.

  19. It would be so convenient especially for contracts with long lists of terms and conditions, to have the signer enter their group name as an answer in a text field, and be able to insert that text field of their group name as needed throughout the multi-line scrolling text field.
