Commenting not available on browser
On the browser, one can highlight. However, these highlights dont get transferred to comments (the way they do on desktop app). It is quite a simple feature. Please add it.

Acrobat Blank Out
OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Version 10.0.17763 Build 17763
Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1620 0 @ 3.60GHz, 3601 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)Running fresh install of desktop Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. I frequently have multiple large (100+ page) documents open while working with other applications (Office suite, browser). When I navigate to a pdf I need to reference the document has gone blank even though pages are still there. Sometimes, an error message reads "There was a problem reading this document (109)." sometimes the error message says there is insufficient memory (my system has 8.0 gigs of…

We Need a Flip (Horizontally) and Stick Floating Toolbar
Please give us a floating bar with flip and stick functionality. The request is two part:
(1) THE FLIP: Please program a floating toolbar that cab be flipped horizontally. The vertical bar can be problematic on both small and large format screens. On small screens it may float over the text (where documents are maximized for readability) making documents less readable (I see this problem commonly in Adobe Discussion threads). My problem is that I use a large screen, and often review wide format documents (maps, plans, etc.) or I am using a two-page view. With my bigger screen, the…

An Urgent Need for Better and Bolder Annotation Tools
I respectfully suggest you consider enhancing Acrobat DC’s current annotation and highlighting tools to enable users to markup documents directly and instantly and do so without putting your users through Acrobat DC’s 28 tool / function menus.
I have been using Acrobat extensively for over 20 years and have a continuous need to annotate a wide range of PDF documents – legal, financial and technical and more. My annotation needs are both textual and graphic. While I remain loyal to Adobe Acrobat, I find Acrobat DC’s current annotation and highlight tools visually weak, limited in graphic capabilities and VERY timer-consuming…

Acrobat DC Pro crashes every time I open multiple PDFs
Acrobat DC recently started to crash every time I open two PDFs. It just closes all the windows without showing any error messages.
Uninstalling and reinstalling did not help. I assume this is associated with some recent update, since this bug started to appear in the last one month. Would anybody know how to fix this?3 votes -
rounded highlight edges are problematic
When highlighting, a recent update made it so that the edges of the highlight are rounded, rather than straight up and down. This is problematic when using highlighting to make comments for a compositor to do something with text in a proof, because it is not crystal clear which characters the highlight is actually applied to.
For (just one) example, if I highlight a word within parentheses to mark for the compositor to make it italic, it looks like the parentheses are also highlighted when they are not.
The attached screenshot with the blue selection shows what the selection looks…

remove all the tool icons and replace them with text only menus
I recently had to install Adobe Acrobat Pro and I would like to be able to remove the icons and replace them with text only menus. If I wanted to look at hieroglyphs I would tune in the Stargate series on MeTV.
Is there a way to change preferences or an add-on that will remove the box-of-crayons-colors icons and display text menus automatically? I don't use the application often enough to memorize the mouse-over texts. It's tiresome enough dealing with texter's shortcut abortions of the English language these days. I'd rather not have to play a game of…

mark as completed
having 3 steps to complete a comment is now REALLY frustrating. when it was just a check box on the comment it was alot smarter and quicker. not sure why this was hidden in a menu 2 layers down.
Suggest putting it back on the actual comment.1 vote -

AATL Trust List not updated
Acrobat is not updating the AATL trust list automatically or even asking when a document that is signed is opened.
There is a checkbox under Preferences > General > Trust Manager > The Automatic Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) updates. Load trusted certificates from an Adobe AATL Server is checked. This is the default when you install acrobat. It however does not update the list. If you uncheck the box, close Acrobat, then open Acrobat check and reclose and open, it works.
Most users won't know to go here and all documents end up looking like they are not…

preserve header/footer independently
Checkbox in the Header and Footer dialog for PRESERVE HEADER and PRESERVE FOOTER allowing a user to update the header or footer independently of the other. The removal of headers when footers are updated (for example) is unacceptable and causes so many issues.

Acrobat Pro Bug - Target Folder error message when Splitting by Bookmark
Acrobat Pro DC Bug (version 21.007 using Windows 10)
This is a new bug, so suggests it relates to a recent update.
When Splitting a PDF file via Top Level Bookmark.
You receive the following error message (see screenshot)."The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different file name or in a different folder".
Trying either of the above suggestions will not work and you continue to receive the same error message when attempting to split the file.
The only way to get around this, is to manually…

Please put an Undo button on the Toolbar
This software feels so obsolete without an Undo button on the Toolbar while you are trying to edit a document. I already see that there are other posts requesting an Undo button on the toolbar. Let's get with it already please, as we are paying for this software and the current process is really too cumbersome to have to click on a menu, click Undo, then Undo again and then confirm to Undo....

Version 2023.008.20470 sucks.
Version 2023.008.20470 sucks. I did not initiate the update, and I want to go back to a previous version. The layout is terrible. Simple functions such as zoom do not work as well. The save feature is disabled most of the time. Fill and Sign feature is slow and sluggish.
Was the previous version broken? I didn't think so. So why did you change it?3 votes -
Please show portfolio select box at a glance, not under options
In previous versions, when combining files in Adobe Acrobat, it was easy to tell immediately whether the portfolio option was ticked.
Now, it is hidden under the 'Options' gear icon. Acrobat remembers the last setting so it is impossible to say what it might be at any given time without clicking the gear icon to check.
This slows down workflow and is needless when there is plenty of room on the toolbar to show this information and is a step backwards from previous versions where this option was immediately visible.
Please re-instate the old behaviour.

Comment dialogue bug
Since the latest update (running Adobe Acrobat Pro V2019.008.20074) adding comments (drawing lines, connected lines or rectangles) randomly causes the comment dialog box to appear for those markups. This was not a problem before the update. Upon opening the document, several dialog "bubbles" appear on the side of the document. They disappear as soon as one opens the comment pane. This is clearly a bug. Windows 7 Enterprise SP1.
Expected result: no dialog box, just display comments created.
Observed result: random dialog boxes are added, even though not added by user.2 votes -
It is essential for the user to be able to disable the default view settings that were set by the creator of the document (often stupidly).
It is essential for the user to be able to disable the default view settings that were set by the creator of the document (often stupidly).
In 35+ years of using computer software, this is the dumbest default setting I have ever seen, and it creates serious usability issues for those wishing to use Acrobat for business purposes (i.e. not graphic design/web design/desktop publishing/etc)
Please IMMEDIATELY ASAP fix this so that the user can disable these default settings and thus view documents effectively instead of spending loads of time fixing display *****-ups caused by the content creator's clumsy use…

When I open PDF I cannot see text in completed fillable form
When I open a completed fillable form all I can see are the adobe digital signatures. I cannot see any of the text typed in the fillable fields. When I look at it in print preview or page thumbnails the text is visible so I know the form has been completed. All I can see is an empty blue box where the info should be. I installed a Creative Cloud update today (prompted from Adobe) and this is the first PDF I have opened since the update, not sure if related.

Idea-fire everyone who worked on the new interface
I LOVED adobe a few years ago up until recently, where everything is so overcomplicated and impossible to use that I would rather inscribe my documents onto a stone tablet and give it to my boss. Expansion and upgrades just to seem flashy while serving no purpose have ruined this application. Additionally, why is it impossible to save things to my desktop?? It wasn't an issue for 30 years but now there are 5 buttons to save something to my cloud and the desktop option is still MIA in my eyes.
