  1. The introduction of what I'll dub the "save helper" is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever seen implemented in a well known software. In no circumstance does it do anything than take more time since you have to open a file dialog no matter what you click - all it does is introduce another impediment to workflow.

The best thing to do is remove this "feature" and have it actually default to where you opened the file from! You know, like software has been doing for the last 30 years?

The newest version also seems to have broken OCR,…

  2. Two files open in Shared Review, two crashes in an hour. First crash launched an error message and crash report. This time, I've been stuck on a blue spinning wheel and (Not Responding) for twenty minutes.

  3. I like the redesign of Acrobat 2022 on the Mac, however please bring back the proxy icons in the title bar/tabs. I use these extensively in my workflow to drag a recent PDF into an email message.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the inconvenience caused!

Could you please try to install the latest update and try to send file via email again.

    Steps to update :
    1. Help→Check for Updates.

    Regards,
    Sahil

  5. When right clicking on a file from a windows explorer window, a contextual option appears to 'Cover to Adobe PDF'.
Currently it prompts the user to select a directory - usually the previous directory it was exported to, however this is never helpful as locations change often.

It would be good if you could set this process to default the output directory to be where the file currently resides.

  6. I've seen a lot of posts on this topic, however, I want to add some specifics to better quantify the issue. Major pop-ups that routinely affect my work are "do you want to make this a trusted document," "enable all features," new feature announcements such as "adobe has a new look," "do you want to make adobe the default program," and more that I might not be remembering right now.

As far as the "do you want to make this a trusted document" and "enable all features" prompts, I'm sure there's a reason these pop-ups exists. That being said, regardless…

  7. I've encountered 2 separate instances of a replicable issue with Adobe Acrobat crashing upon clicking a fillable field shortly after the document is opened.

The workaround is to allow a few seconds for Adobe to "finish loading", indicated by the 7-day Trial banner appearing in instances of non-licensed users. Any clicks prior to this message appearing will cause the application to crash/close out without an error message.

I'm unsure if it has anything to do with how the document was created.

    Application: Adobe Acrobat (64-bit)
    Version: 23.008.20470
    OS: Windows 10 (10.0.19045 Build 19045)

  8. Steps to reproduce issue: Open word, click "create and share Adobe PDF" wait for 5 min. receive error message. Repeat. It is pretty regular event. Lately its 90% of the time I try. When the product works it produces a beautiful PDF, and when it does not it produces nothing. Considering that my work requires this regularly, it is rather frustrating. To have something I pay $20 a month for, not work.

  9. Is it, or will it be possible in the future, to adjust a multi-line text field font size when set to auto in the appearance properties? I would like to start at a font size 24 or 30 and auto downsize as the text field fills up. It seems to default to size 12 only when multi-line and auto (font size) boxes are ticked in properties.

  11. I want to use the standard dialog of the operating system to save files as the default, not a solution from Adobe. This only costs time and is a bad UX experience.

    1. Open compressed (zipped) file in "File Explorer"
    2. Have preview on for "File Explorer"
    3. Select the PDF for preview in File Explorer
    4. Open the PDF
    5. Receive Error message Error Message: "Windows cannot complete the extraction. The destination file could not be created."

    OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit

    Workaround

    1. Turn off Preview in File Explorer and Adobe Acrobat opens the PDF without any issue.

    2. Task Manager --> End Task Adobe Reader process --> Open PDF

Note: Adobe Reader is not installed

3: Uninstalling Adobe Acrobat (Not really an option, if you want to use Acrobat).

  13. The process of making an Adobe e-sign with the most current update (7-5-2023) has become at least twice as long. The new features are amazing, but with an update that includes as many features without customizability and optimization makes these features hinder some users instead of enabling them. My idea is to add shortcuts and hotkeys, with the availability to keymap these features in settings. For example, pressing (ctrl. i) for initial, (ctrl. s) for Signature, or (ctrl. t) for text. These are a few examples that would make this application excel among other products and become infinitely more user-friendly.…

  14. When I comment on a PDF and click ctrl+s, I am prompted for a save location every time. This is annoying. The forums said to disable enchanced security, protected mode at startup, and show online saving locations. However, please fix this default behavior.

If I comment on a PDF, and click ctrl+S or save, it should automatically overwrite the file in the same location without prompting for "save as."

  16. When opening previously created pdfs, getting the error message "Cannot find or create the font 'TimesNewRomanPSMT.' Some characters may not display or print correctly." Closing out of Adobe and re-opening brings back the hidden characters, but this should be fixed. Thanks!

  18. In the/my newest update of Acrobat Reader, the button to send the pdf as attached to email has now become a "Share button" and now requires an extra click in order to send the pdf attached to an email. As far as I can see, there's no way to enable Reader to do this by default. In my opinion this is a downgrade, as I /only/ send attached pdf, never share links.
Could you either reverse the change or make it possible to make my choice as default option.

  19. the new "add text" does not allow you to add text anywhere overlaying existing text like it used to do. Add text defaults to "edit text" whenever you try to add text over existing text, like lines for entering data. The function to add text to a form is not as useful as simply being able to add text over the existing text. DONT CHANGE A FUNCTION THAT USED TO WORK FINE AND BE VERY USEFUL TO SOMETHING THAT IS LESS FUNCTIONAL. Please revert back to the old Add text function!!!
