  2. When opening Acrobat DC on Mac OS (High Sierra 10.13.3) the icon 'bounces' in the dock, shows that it's open, then is unusable. If I click the icon in the dock, nothing happens. If I control-click, and select 'Show All Windows', a blue halo appears where an application screen should be, but there's nothing there. When selecting a PDF to open, if Acrobat is 'open' nothing happens. If it is not, it goes through the normal startup with the bouncing icon in the dock, then nothing happens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app a few different times now,…

  3. The mouse cursor and some other functions are EXTREMELY SLOW to respond making the application practically unusable. It takes about 10 times longer to do anything because of this.

I have to move my mouse to something and then hover for a couple of seconds before I can make the action I want to make.

This seems like an intended thing as there's no lag, not waiting on processing, nothing like that - the cursor just isn't responsive, almost as if it were a safety feature.... but it is extremely annoying and I can't use this application in the…

Cross link to similar report at https://github.com/jdaw1/placemat/issues/171

Consider the PDF placemats. Observe lots of complicated clipping. This was printed successfully from Adobe inside Chrome, but unsuccessfully from Adobe desktop app — major failure of clipping.

First image is of the Sandeman circle on the first page, as correctly converted to bitmap by GraphicConverter.

Next is as correctly printed from within Chrome version; Version 137.0.7151.120 (Official Build) (64-bit).

Then as wrongly printed from Adobe Acrobat 2025.001.20531, 64-bit.

In both cases, printed to a OKI C822 printer…

  5. I sometimes need to selectively edit a portion of a pdf, but when I click on Edit PDF, the OCR process messes up the format, or changes fonts to the point that it would be virtually impossible to recreate the "messed up" portion of the PDF. I realize that this is very likely due to the fact that the document was not originally created in Acrobat, but was probably scanned or converted from a document created from, say, MS Word, or similar program. But, as a former programmer, I think that it would be possible ... i.e., to selectively choose…

    32GB RAM
    6 core i7 3.7 GHz
    Nvidia GTX 1070-TI
(Installed latest versions of: Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Acrobat DC, lightroom, Bridge, Audition, Media Encoder)

Since a few days Acrobat DC crashes on startup. I think It might have to do with the fact that I just updated my Windows 10 PRO to the October 2018 release because I think it started crashing since then.

Acrobat DC is completely unusable now.

I have all latest graphic drivers, Windows 10 PRO drivers, and April 2019 release of CC Cloud apps.
    If I uninstall Acrobat DC…

  7. I was trying the new summary AI

So far as I clicked the "Generate Button," it did open like a mini tab or window.

    I used the latest Acrobat.

I was expecting it to load at least, but it's been taking ages, longer than I anticipated, than when I needed.

So for a suggestion, probably you'd need to properly adress the part where your AI doesn't do the job clearly expected from them to do.

As I wrote this, which took me another 8 minutes, and it hasn't loaded even until I'm done, it made me decide not to wait…

Editing protected (NO SAVE AS) PDF... can PRINT to save form data, however when try to SAVE AS PDF get message need ACROBAT PRO to save PDF... upgrade to FREE TRIAL of PRO and still can't save PDF file. Attempt to EXPORT AS DOCX or PDF and same error message, require Acrobat Pro. It appears that ACROBAT READER is not refreshing license to understand TRAIL of PRO enabled and as result, does not allow all features. I am stuck... I can't save file and results in DATA LOSS. Adobe needs to fix READER so that license changes updated…

  9. Save advance search results in a pdf file to enable further treatment of the output.
Ex: I searched a certain value in lab test results files. When reviewing the results of the advanced search I wanted to output only those selected lines in a new file, which currently is not possible.

  10. Ever since getting Adobe Acrobat DC Pro (version 2019.010.20100) on a new Windows 10 64-bit Enterprise client , any time I open a PDF to do anything (edit, PDF, Organize Pages, or just leave the PDF open without selecting any tool), I have about 45 seconds before Acrobat locks up and is unresponsive. Every time I have to close the program. I have to go to another workstation running Windows 7 Professional SP1 and use Acrobat Pro 2015.006.30456, which runs flawlessly. Do I have to make a request to roll my machine back to Windows 7 in order to solve…

  11. It would be great if there was an automated tool for working with scans of books showing two pages across. If the system could automatically cut scans in half (or even detect where the centerline of the scan is) and create two pages out of each image it would be an awesome addition to Acrobat.

  12. Environment:

    Windows 10
    InDesign 15.0.3
    Acrobat Pro DC 20.0

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create a new Document in InDesign
    2. Add a text frame and filler text
    3. Export PDF No. 1

    4. Add a soft hyphen somewhere in the filler text

    5. Export PDF No. 2

    6. Compare PDF No. 1 and PDF No. 2 in Acrobat Pro (compare everything, not "text only")

    Expected result

    Soft hyphen should either be
    a) ignored in comparison

    or better

    b) displayed as one of several commonly used glyphs, e.g. the not-sign "¬"

    Observed result

The soft hyphen is displayed as a single space that was added in the…

  13. Some tagged PDF tables have RowSpan/ColSpan for data cells (<TD> tags) defined in Attribute Classes. While these correctly appear in the tag properties under attribute classes, the "Check for Accessibility" feature ignores it.

To reproduce the issue, have a table with a cell spanning multiple rows or columns. Have the correct RowSpan/ColSpan tag under an attribute class instead of a direct attribute object. Run "Check for accessibility."

A small PDF showing this problem is attached. In particular the data cell in the second row with entry "1/2(2T+1)" is correctly tagged as spanning two rows with an attribute class.

    Using Windows…

  14. Older versions I was able to quickly locate the tools to crop an image to make it smaller. I was also able to break down a document and extract one page if needed as a pdf file. Manipulate files is what this was useful for. No longer is this a user friendly program.

  15. Summary:
Selection boxes disappear when one of the selected annotations is a line--Upon moving the multiple selection with a cursor, any annotation selected before the last line annotation was selected will not have a blue selection box. This creates a very confusing user experience because it looks like you're only moving the line annotation.

    Steps to reproduce issue:
    - Select multiple annotations
    - Include a line annotation in the multiple selection
    - Click and drag the selection

    Expected result:
    - All selected annotations should have a blue selection box representing the move

    Observed result:
    - Only the last…

  17. The new interface is nice, but I really use the drag and drop a lot as I do Graphic Design and Design production where I have multiple projects in different folders and drives. I send out approval PDFs and it saves time and hassle to drop what I see in Acrobat into my eMail and Slack chats (and sometimes copy to another folder). I hope you can put that back in some way with the new interface. Luckily tech support showed me how to revert to the old interface. :)

  18. When I right click on a word or excel file and "convert to pdf" it would be better if the new pdf could save to the same folder as the original file by default. There should be an option to allow this, which I found to be a huge time saver when using Kofax Power PDF. The current adobe saving options only allow for using one pre-defined folder, or the last folder that something was saved to. This results in files being saved to the wrong location, or time wasted navigating to different folders every time.

  19. Adobe just recently took out the functionality to create a PDF form with a "Submit" button that emails a copy of the completed for as a "PDF". The only option now is FDF and XFDF. Please bring back the "PDF" export feature.
