   Adobe Acrobat Pro DC issues: slow scrolling - failed saving - document not found. Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2019.010.20069 and previous ones on macOS has some issues, which have been around for ages. They are really frustrating:
    
   1. Scrolling vertically becomes excruciatingly slow if "Edit - Find" (Command F) is opened. Even on powerful Macs, like iMac 27-inch Retina 5K display 4.2 GHz with 40 GB RAM and fast 2 TB internal SSD from Apple (mid 2017).
    
   2. If you open a PDF document, then edit it (for instance, using "Highlight text" fluorescent marker or "Tools - Comment - Arrow") and then change its name in Mac Finder, "File - Save" (Command S) does not work, and even crashes Acrobat. Why is this useful? Because sometimes you may download a scientific paper with a generic useless name, open it to read and mark it as indicated above, and then rename it with useful name and finally save it.
    
   2. Similarly, if you open a PDF document and close it, it shows in "Home - Recent" and "File - Open Recent File", as expected. But if you change its location in Mac Finder, moving it to other place, if you try to open it that way later on, it does not open and is indeed wiped out from the list with the error: "The file you are trying to open is no longer available and cannot be opened". Why is this useful? As in the example above, sometimes you may download a scientific paper, mark and rename it as indicated above, and then move it to other place in the disk for final storage.
    
   It would be great if such issues could be fixed. Other applications like Microsoft Word do not have them and work OK.

2. Bookmark iPhone

   Please let us choose to put the Bookmarks tool at the top of the screen for Adobe Acrobat for iPhones instead of forcing us to get to it via … two clicks instead of one.

   On my iPhone there is even plenty of space between Home and Undo buttons to put Bookmarks there too

3. Users should have the option to keep the navigation panes (with bookmarks and page thumbnails) on the left

   The new version of Acrobat moves tools to the left and navigation tools to the right without giving an option for users to customize the location. Having page navigation on the right is unergonomic because the natural reading order is left to right, and people click bookmark titles and page numbers before reading the page content. In books, the table of contents comes before the main content of the book, and you flip rightwards after choosing a chapter to read.

   With navigation on the left, the tools would be on the right-hand side in the new version. This makes intuitive sense as most people will pick up actual tools (like hammers, screwdrivers) with their right hand.

   All other Adobe software gives users several UI options. For example, Adobe Photoshop has several layout configurations for users (Essentials, Graphic and Web, Photography, Painting, etc.). There is no reason Acrobat cannot give users similar flexibility, especially when it comes to a configuration (i.e. bookmarks, pages on the left) that has been consistent for over a decade across all major PDF readers.

   When scrolling a PDF document with highlighted text using the two-finger gesture on a trackpad, text that is highlighted when creating a Comment does not visually scroll properly. See the attached video. Same problem occurs when using the cursor to scroll the page (not captured in the attached video). Reproduced on several documents

   Steps:
   1. Select text

6. scrolling with touchscreen

   I like that I can now scroll through the entire document and not just one page at a time but I can't scroll with my touchscreen because it always thinks I'm trying to "fill". It would help a lot if I could also scroll using touchscreen in my business.

7. Enable a default selection for "Enable scrolling" yes/no

   Since I work only with scroll mode, the current functionality is a pain in the neck.
   I would prefer having the possibility to define "scroll mode" in the settings so I don't have to set "Enable scrolling" each time I open a document.
   Leave the current selection GUI for when one wants to work on a specific document in a different mode than his default selection.
   Would appreciate your feedback and even more if you implement it.

9. Bookmarks are not carried over from word if document is less than four pages

   Links are not working after converting a Word document to a PDF. After much troubleshooting, the cause of the issue is the number of pages. Four or more pages works as expected, three or less does not.

   To reproduce the issue, create a Table of Contents at the top of the document that links to the Headers of each section. Then Save As Adobe PDF. The expected result is that the Table of Contents will still contain links to the Headers of each section as bookmarks in the new PDF. The observed result is that the links are broken if the document is less than four pages in length. I am using Windows 10/Office16/Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Version 2021.007.20095.

   A workaround is to add blank pages to the shorter document to make it at least four pages. This will allow the links to carry over in the conversion. The pages can then be deleted directly from the PDF and the bookmarks will stay. However, this is not an ideal long-term solution.

   In the attached documents the only change I made between the two PDFs was to add a blank page at the end.

    I often receive PDFs from others with thousands of pages and hundreds or thousands of bookmarks. When I click on a bookmark, Acrobat shows the matching page. This should also work in reverse; i.e., if I go to page 40,295, DC should display the matching bookmark for that page. There is command in the Bookmark menu called Expand Current Bookmark (it should be named "Show bookmark for the page I am on"), which helps a little. But what is really needed is for Acrobat's bookmarks to be synchronized with the pages in a PDF, so as we go through the pages, DC shows the bookmarks for the page we are.

    This would REALLY help when working with huge PDFs with hundreds or thousands of bookmarks.

11. Scrolling prevents login

    Scolling on a pdf when opening it prevents login.
    Steps to reproduce:
    If you open a pdf and click on the scrollbar and move it up and down login will not be done while you keep moving the bar, same think for the mouse wheel, if you keep moving the mouse wheel the login will not take place thus delaying access to features.

12. Horizontal scrolling is not possible with mouse

    I have several mouses that have horizontal-scroll features. However, I am not able to use this for horizontal scroll. On MacOS, one can also use the shift button to change a vertical scroll to a horizontal one, but this is not working as well.

13. Please make it possible to print all text/comments within scrolling text boxes within fillable PDFs.

    Many have asked for this for years & I saw at least one other suggestion of this declined for some reason...please make it so that all text/comments entered within scrolling text boxes in a fillable PDF can be printed out......or maybe make it clear somewhere in your help information that this just can't be done for some reason.

14. Merge files taking pages alternately from each input file while also retaining bookmarks, plus merging two pages from each file into one.

    Would very much appreciate capability to merge files taking pages alternately from each input file while also retaining bookmarks. I work across multiple languages and need to read them side by side, so rather than browsing two files, prefer to have them on the same file so that page turning is easier. PDFSam offers the alternate merging capability, which I use every day, but bookmarks are lost so that I need to keep referring back to the original files to locate content.
    In addition, if pages from the two files can be automatically arranged on the same page (just like 2-in-1 printing) that would also be greatly appreciated. At least among conference interpreters, these features would be a killer feature. Please kindly consider.

15. hide tools pane

    It's so annoying to have to close the All Tools and Bookmarks panes every time I open a document. None of the settings seem to work. Why isn't there a default option to hide these panes?

16. This update SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Whose good idea is it to move the bookmarks to the right side panel with no options to move it to the left? SUCKS Whose good idea is it to set it up so that I can't have both the comments bar and bookmarks displayed at the same time SUCKS I can't even tell what page, e.g., 5/124 I am on so that I can navigate easily or set footers to specific pages SUCKS And this is just in the first 5 minutes of my day

17. Change bookmark default color

    Current default color is nearly unreadable. All my PDF's are using this color, so it's the default. Unable to change the color except by opening every PDF with bookmarks & changing using properties bar. Color change should be easier

19. Add Space between pages for user and allow smooth scrolling

    It is exceptionally annoying that pages in Adobe DC do not smoothly scroll. When you get to the bottom of a page the next page 'snaps' to the top of the page. This is contrary to human psychology... Just follow the eyes of your users. When this happens the users eyes are often at the bottom of the page. When the annoying 'next' page snaps up, the user has to move his eyes and often their head to re-find the new focus point at the top of the screen because that is where the next content is found.

    Space between the pages, and smooth scrolling like that found in the defacto standard of MS Word (and now Google Docs). needs to be implemented.

    Adobe should be embarrassed that such a fine product that has dominated the world lacks simple usability improvements such as these.

    Can we get this simple feature in the next product update?

This is contrary to human psychology... Just follow the eyes of your users. When this happens the users eyes are often at the bottom of the page. When the annoying 'next' page snaps up, the user has to move his eyes and often their head to re-find the new focus point at the top of the screen because that is where the next content is found.

20. Table of Contents

    I would like to be able to generate a table of contents using bookmarks within a PDF. While there are some third party plugins that will do this, it would be helpful to have this feature within Acrobat.
