    • Open the attached "test53.pdf" in Adobe Acrobat.
    • The PDF contains 53 levels of nested Form XObjects (XObjects within XObjects).
    • Beyond a certain depth (52), the nested content does not render at all, even though the PDF is valid according to ISO 32000 (no recursion, only nesting).

    Expected behavior:
Content should render consistently, as the PDF spec allows arbitrary nesting of Form XObjects.

    Actual behavior:
Beyond 52 levels of nesting, the PDF viewer skips rendering the content.

Attached is also a "test52.pdf" file with 52 levels of nested Form XObjects that renders correctly.

  2. I've added new "Custom command" -> Inspect document -> Text to Curves

I've added that Custom Command to Quick tools toolbar.
The idea was that i have one click text to curves button.
After clicking indeed the text changes to curves, BUT when you click save icon, it goes disabled (as if you'd think you saved the file). Yet if you reopen the file the text is text not curves.

It only works if you go Save AS and then choose your file once again but it defeats the purpose of having custom command. It's then easier to just add…

  4. Just tried this out on a scanned PDF of Japanese text with the latest Acrobat Pro (2023.008.20470) and the results were completely unusable. Searching for any text on the page had zero results (even simple hiragana). Copying and pasting text gave me wildly inaccurate kanji and other symbols. macOS Preview does a pretty good job of letting me search and copy text from the same document, even my own poor handwriting, and I don't even have to wait for a progress bar.

  5. bug report:
When I copy/paste pdf text onto Word Docx, the text converts to italics. This happens on my MacBook Air (M1,2020) but not an older MacBook.

Please share the acrobat version you are experiencing this issue with .

Have you tried it with any other file to confirm that this is not file-specific issue.

Also, can you “Check for Updates” and re-test the issue with latest version.

  8. Even after I remove the hidden text layer in a PDF, I'm still not able to run an OCR with "ClearScan" (i.e. "Editable Text and Images"). It's strange because the text layer appears to be gone, yet running OCR produces the error "Acrobat could not perform recognition because: page contains renderable text."

The text in the bottom of the windows appears in a wrong position.
You need to do a screen copy, then, with Aperture or other, you need to do a vertical switch to see correctly the text.

  10. Acrobat PRO 2020 - Running text recognition rotates random pages wrongly

We have testet and confirmed the problem does NOT exist in Adobe Acrobat 2017, but it does happen in Acrobat DC and Acrobat PRO 2020

Due to company security policy we run offline versions of the software with local license verification.

When doing OCR or Text recognition nomatter what we do, it randomly rotate pages during the scanning process. No matter what settings we set.

  11. Please enable the export of images along with text from a "_Response.pdf" file. It now only exports text to .csv files.

Our client will have ~10,000 fillable forms annually that come back with both text filled in, and images attached.

Ideally, the mix of text and images could be exported to an Alteryx database, which can contain text, images, and spatial objects. Extension .yxdb.

Less ideally, any method of extracting the images with a link to the text would be great. Like saving the images in jpg or png format to a local directory, and the text

  12. to create a way for the sender to fill in a portion of the form after it's been signed. I'm thinking for Human Resources purposes. If my potential employee fills out the direct deposit form, the HR has to fill in the tax information, rate, filing status, etc from the W-4 prior to sending it to our payroll company. It would be nice to see a way to specify fields that the HR team needs to fill out after receiving the forms from the on boarding employees.

  13. Major Issues with dropdown functionality when sending for signature.

To understand what I mean, certain features that work for text fields don't work for Dropdowns.

Example 1. - When using the Fill & Sign, send for signatures function text fields allow for blank unrequired fields to be sent for signature. Dropdowns do not. You must apply a value for dropdown to not have errors and the value cannot be a simple space.

Example 2 - When using the Fill & Sign, send for signatures function text field values that are pre-filled for customers are accepted and not…

  14. Text-to-speech in Danish as an option, Please :)
    - Is it possible to get Adobe Reader + Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

    ¤ Text-to-speech in Danish.
Let the program read: text-to-speech also in Danish.
(I read extremely slowly, so get the option to let the program speech the text, also in Danish, would save my day's !)

    Other Wishes:

¤ A quick switch between languages.
To change the language back and forth ect. between Danish/English speak.
If i another day I have an English document or another language document to read.

¤ Shortcut to words per minute.…

  15. Remove "Check out new e-sign tools" hint from the bottom of a side bar.
I am already familiar with this "new and revolutionary" feature...
I don't need to find out about it every time I open Acrobat.

  16. There is an option to change the border color under Preferences, Forms change Required fields border highlight color. When another users fills out the form the border outline color reverts to red again. I would like the outline color for the required field that I selected to travel with the PDF document.

You will need to implement keystroke script for this.

You can use the Properties dialog > format > Custom options

  17. When filling out forms for e-signature we need a way to favorite our commonly used fields. For example if I need to access signature, print name, and date for all of my documents I should be able to have them in their own section so I don't have to toggle back and forth between sections each time.

  18. Too much time is wasted by doing the simple little things and I want to address the little things that make PDF editing a big time consumer.

    1) When copy and pasting anything from images, Text and especially New Text Fields they should paste right on top of their duplicate by default location.

    A) It's easier to locate them
    B) Way too time consuming moving it back to the default location so then you can continue on and just keyboard arrow key them over and into place where you want
It wastes so much time especially when you have…

  19. In Acrobat Pro, reducing the size of the bookmark text also reduced the bookmark height, so more bookmarks were visible at any one time. In Acrobat Pro DC, the bookmark height is fixed at a height that accommodates large text, so reducing the text size doesn't increase the number of visible bookmarks. For example, where I could previously see 57 bookmarks in Acrobat Pro (with small text), I can now only see 40 bookmarks in Acrobat Pro DC.
Having more visible bookmarks makes the bookmark facility more useful. It is easier to find a bookmark, and it is…
