1. Combine Files - Doesn't render correctly when launched form Expolorer Context Menu

   Bug

   A weird issue only when you try to combine PDFs from the right-click menu in Windows.

   Steps to reproduce:
   1. Find 2 or more PDFs in Explorer, highlight them, right-click, Combine Files in Acrobat...
   2. Acrobat launches with a white screen. To fix, simply resize the window in any way and the screen for combining files renders correctly. Click Home and going tack to Tools also fixes it.

   Windows 10 22H2 (Also occurs in Windows 11 21H2). Occurs on many workstations in our environment.
   Acrobat Pro 2022.003.20322

3. [BUG] Adobe Acrobat/Reader Version 2021.007.20099 - JAWS will not open links with ENTER

   Since the update to version 2021.007.20099 was released, JAWS will open links with SHIFT+ENTER but not ENTER.
   Even when opening with SHIFT+ENTER, JAWS does take you to the correct page, but reads text from a previous page.
   This has been tested on my desktop with Win 10 Pro, my laptop with Win 11 Home, in Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
   The issue has also been reported by other users who are members of the JAWS listserv.
   Unfortunately, Adobe makes it difficult to revert to earlier versions which means that accessibility professionals like me have to release pdf's to the public with links that haven't been properly tested, not to mention the fact that end users who have installed the latest update will begin to encounter the issue as well.

   Here's a description from another accessibility professional on the listserv:
   I was getting the same problem and did a lot of research that showed the problem is with the latest version of Adobe Reader (2021.007.20099). The issues do not occur with Adobe Reader 2021.007.20091 and Adobe Acrobat 2021.007.20095.

   Unfortunately, there does not appear to be any way to obtain recent versions of Adobe Reader other than the very latest one. They do have an FTP site at ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/, but there are a couple of gotchas:

   1. Chrome and Firefox no longer support FTP, so I had to use Internet Explorer! You might be able to use an FTP client, but WS_FTP 12 wouldn't connect because it insisted I enter a username and password, even though neither is required.

   2. The most recent version of Adobe Reader I could find was dated 28 October 2020. I uninstalled the latest version and installed this one, and JAWS now works properly with PDFs again. It's not ideal to be using such an old version, but it's good enough to allow us to continue testing PDFs until Adobe release a fix.

   Since the update to version 2021.007.20099 was released, JAWS will open links with SHIFT+ENTER but not ENTER.

5. Cannot add bookmarks in paid version of Adobe Acrobat – critical limitation

   I am a paying user of Adobe Acrobat, but I recently discovered that I can no longer create new bookmarks in my PDFs — only view existing ones. This is a core feature I have used extensively in my work and reading, and its removal (or disabling) severely impacts the usability of the software.
   If this is an intentional restriction in the new interface, I strongly urge Adobe to reconsider. Bookmarks are a basic navigational tool, not a premium extra. If it's a bug, please prioritize fixing it.
   I also tested this on previously created bookmarks, and I can see them but cannot add or manage new ones. Please restore full bookmark functionality in the paid version of Acrobat as soon as possible.

6. Acrobat Pro DC Form edit mode selection is BROKEN

   In form edit mode, using the Select Object Tool. When selecting a column of form objects (e.g. check boxes) ALL non form objects are selected, and the tool reverts to the Edit too. This renders it impossible to perform actions on the form objects alone

   In the file, try and select a column of checkboxes to match the behaviour.

   This worked fine before the last update, currently on 2019.021.20047

   I would suggest removing the Edit tool from the Form Edit mode, it is not necessary. It is available in the PDF Edit mode.

   When I want to work on form objects, that is all I want to work on. Not other non-form objects.

9. Recent File Listing not in date order

   When I go to look at the Recent Files list, there are multiple issues.
   Firstly, see attached image, the files are not listed in order based on the last opened date.
   Secondly, in Thumbnail view there is a checkbox titled 'Sorted by Opened'. When this box is checked, instead of sorting the files are all selected.
   Thirdly, in List View selecting one or more files shows a checkbox, but it it not checked.
   I consider all the above items to be bugs with the Recent Files User Interface.
   Note 1: Using the Open Recent File menu, the recent files are listed in order, most recent first.
   Note 2: The current version of Acrobat Reader is:
   Continuous Release | Version 2025.00 1,20756 | 64-bit

13. May/June 2018 - Adobe Pro DC download link - NOT GOOD

    Had to redo PC. Downloaded and reinstalled Adobe Pro DC. No dark theme setting available. Contacted Adobe support. Tech insisted that the only way to help was to remote in. Tech changed some registry settings and from my recollection, the spt tech installed a "repair software". Then my system started revving up terribly. I didn't like what I was seeing. I ended session, reverted back to an image before remote session. Reopened Adobe Pro DC. Turns out the download gave me 2015 (classic) vs newer. Tried to update, it said it was up to date. Thankfully I found an older download in my files. I uninstalled the June 2018 download and reinstalled the Feb 2018 download and all is good.

    Splitting files. When splitting files you can no longer use a number pad, it types out in alpha. It also always reverts to 2.

17. highlight default

    Multiple users (in Adobe Acrobat and Reader) are reporting that when they change their Highlight Tool to White (unsure if any other color is originating this issue but able to reproduce it with White) and select Make Properties to Default that on next launch it does show as White as the default for Highlight tool. However, they are unable to then change from White to any other color as default. It will continue to revert to White for all future closing and reopens of the software.

    User launches Adobe Acrobat/Reader
    Checks for Updates, no updates on Version 2024.002.20687 at this time on 4/23/2024.
    Highlight Tool Default is Yellow
    User changes default to White and checks Make Properties Default
    Default in this session is now white.
    User closes application and reopens.
    Highlight Tool Default is White.
    User changes default to Yellow and checks Make Properties Default
    Default in this session is now Yellow
    User closes application and reopens.
    Highlight Tool Default is back to White and has not retained the properties default change from Yellow to White.
    Issue repeats infinitely

18. Keep tool selected across files like all other creative apps

    I need to edit numerous files at a time, using specific tools. For each document that I access, I have to reselect the tool.

    In InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, the tool selection is independent of the file. i.e. if I have the Type Tool selected in InDesign, and create a new document, it remains selected. If I open 50 files, the Type Tool remains selected until I change it to something else.

    In Acrobat, the tools revert and do not stay selected, resulting in thousands of clicks a week, just to navigate to the tool I need to use on multiple documents. i.e. If I need to edit a text field, I open the files, then select Edit, then select Text. Go to the next document, select Edit, then select Text. Go to the next document, select Edit, then select Text. Go to the next document, select Edit, then select Text. Go to the next document, select Edit, then select Text. Go to the next document, select Edit, then select Text, ad nauseam.

    Acrobat used to behave like InDesign etc. the tool I choose should remain selected until I change it.

20. Preserve font settings

    Every time I use alternate characters or style set of a font in a PDF created in Illustrator or InDesign, if the text is edited in Acrobat the characters revert back the the default.

    An example is using the font Circular. If I set my font to style set 2 (single story "a") in Illustrator or InDesign, and try to edit the PDF in Acrobat, the font defaults to style set 1 (double story "a").

    It would be nice if Acrobat either preserved advanced font settings or offered the same settings. What is the point of customizing your fonts in these other programs if something as simple as editing text changes it all.

    Additionally, the reason I think this should be available is because the documents I work on are sent to clients who are not designers and do not have the creative suite. And while I wish copy would be final when I send these off, sometimes that just isn't the case and they would like to be able to tweak a word here and there.

    Not to mention, it just seems obvious to me that font settings should be preserved.
