  2. I have Acrobat Pro DC as part of a Creative Cloud subscription. Running on MacBook Pro under OS X High Sierra 10.13.6.
For several weeks I've had the issue that when starting the app, usually by opening a PDF, there is a interval of a minute or more when it is unresponsive. The document is slow to appear. The Mac process indicator appears (spinning rainbow disc). The delay is quite aggravating. It only happens on the first document opened in a session.
If I quit the app and reopen it, the same thing occurs.
This behavior started recently; and the…

  3. In your next update, please include the option to save documents (from programs such as Microsoft Office) DIRECTLY to password-protected pdf forms. It should be unnecessary to open the pdf's in the Adobe program and then create an additional level of security. The current system requires too many steps, which is neither time- nor labor-efficient. You already include the ability to convert to pdf directly from these programs, so please add the option to convert directly to a password-protected version. Thank you.

This feature already exits with Word for every PDF that required password excryption.

    1. Create your document or open an existing PDF document using Word
    2. From the File menu select Save As
    3. Browse to a location to save the document
    4. Select PDF (*.pdf) as the document type and click the Options… button
    5. In the PDF options section check the Encrypt the document with a password option

  4. When I save out a PDF form to File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools, which includes all the necessary elements for 508 compliance, including table summaries, the resultant Reader enabled file has the table summaries deleted.

Thus it is impossible to get the final form PDF to pass 508 testing, because now I cannot edit the final PDF in order to restore the table summary.

    Thanks for looking into this.

Can you share with us the acrobat version and the operating system you are using

  6. Hi, I have been making PDFs from InDesign CC 2019 running on Mac OS High Sierra. When opening the PDFs in Acrobat Pro DC, it's creating broken links from text that does not look like a URL and where no links have been specified. I think it's the 'Create Links from URLs' feature in Acrobat preferences trying to be helpful but failing miserably. This seems to affect text that uses a colon : but I can't ask my client not to use colons in their copy just because Acrobat is incorrectly reading it as a URL. My client is asking…

Also some sample PDFs with which you are facing this issue.

  7. Sometimes I already have an underlying form in use (one that has check boxes) that I want to make fillable. Since the form already has check boxes, when I add a check box using Prepare Form, the borders can look chunky if I don't get the edges perfectly aligned. Making the fill and line transparent will still fill my underlying check box (part of the form design) but won't try to add a new box overlay.

Thank you for reporting the issue with us.
Could you please share a screenshot of the issue you are observing.
And if you can share the sample PDF for us to debug further.

  8. Editing a PDF that used Arial Narrow first issued a warning that I don't have the font installed and would substitute it with an other font. Now that I installed the font, each letter or number is replaced with a dot.

The font works fine in a text editor.

  9. Currently large Photoshop documents that are PSBs cannot be saved as Photoshop PDFs. The unacceptable work-around is to flatten the file and hope that it’s small enough to convert to PSD first.

If this is not already being worked on (I hope it is), then please add it to your list. It’s an issue for Photoshop users.

  10. I keep having this same issue over and over. I go to use Adobe Sign and it asks me to upgrade. I already have DC Pro. I try repeatedly and eventually it works. So frustrating.

Adobe Acrobat Pro XML Export Bug Report
    by Rich Hartness, rhartness@mabnc.org

1 Title: Isolated field format losses with Acrobat PDF to XML exports

    2 Intent

I'm writing to report there seems to be a very small but significant bug in the Acrobat 2017 and Pro DC PDF to XML exporter, to share my compelling evidence, and hopefully to gain your support to authorize a code fix that will correct this issue in a future update.

    3 Problem description and scope

The problem seems to only exist in XML exports. In…

    1. Open this PDF in Adobe Pro
    2. See "bad stream" error.

Any other PDF reader (Chrome, Evince, Mac Preview, GhostScript) opens it just fine, but Adobe Pro is unhappy about it.

Is it a bug in Adobe Pro?

  12. Add a Delete / Clear "button" .
Sometimes, after the details have been filled out, we want to print it or just save, but we want to leave the form open for the next customer.
Please add a visible "button" option, which will have the option to choose whether to delete the data filled out in the last box or in the entire form, so that the form is ready to be refilled.

If you are the author of the PDF form, you can add the button with “Reset Form” using the folllowing steps

    1. Prepare Form > Add a button.
    2. Open Properties and goto Action tab
    3. Select Action – Reset a form and choose the fields you would want to reset.
    4. Close and save to have the changes applied.

Alternatively, You can also add a reset form button with javascript:
this.resetForm(); However, this will not allow you to choose the fields.

    I hope this helps.

  13. It would be helpful to be able to resize the Button Properties window in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Currently the window barely has enough room to display the contents. Resizing would help allow for much quicker form preparation workflows, for example, making the window larger could help minimize the need to constantly use the scrollbars in the Actions tab.

  14. My biggest complaint about the latest update to Adobe is the percentage option for re-sizing documents within an open window has now been removed. I review and edit PDFs from countless customers all day long. Now the only way to change the size of the document within the window is to expand or decrease the size of the window itself, which can still be extremely limiting. Having the ability to change the size of any given document for review and edit is essential to my job. Why was the document percentage option removed from the toolbar and how can I…

  16. Hi,

When including Enhance Scan in an Action Wizard and running it against a folder with Multiple files in it, repeatedly prompt and ask for the next file... I don't want to see that prompt, like when I am OCRing I can uncheck the Prompt check box...

  17. New issue with Acrobat Pro DC 2019.010.20098.
I am on Mac Mojave, 16.16.7
Attempting to print a college transcript from Parchment, a Secured PDF. Document Properties, Security tab says Printing should be allowed, but printing fails with "There were no pages selected to print" - see attached screenshot. My office mate has version 2019.010.20071 and can print this document no problem. This is the second bug I have found in this build.

  18. Hi, I have hundreds of url's and need to save them as the jpegs each URL does belong to our catalogue, and I am assuming there is a straightforward way of converting them with some batch action?

To be clear I am converting multiple URLs to jpegs or .Psd files and am looking to do it in a batch process

    There must be a way

  19. I have purchased the full license for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, I am requesting Adobe to create a way to always block Reader DC from ever downloading during scheduled updates. Reader DC always commandeers/overrides the default settings by file types and since I PAID for the full software product, I shouldn't have to reset my default program by file type literally every other day. Please change this. Please.
