1. Copy-paste for ligatures

   When selecting and copying passages of text from a PDF, commonly ligatures (e.g. special characters that represent a group of two characteris such as "fl"), are copied as special characters.

   Upon pasting into Word or other software these special characters are often not recognized.

   It would make much sense to have "smart" copy-and-paste that automatically converts ligatures into the respective single characters.

5. Bug in Acrobat's calculation of exponential (Type2) function

   Hi,

   Attached files show a severe bug in calculation of a simple Type2 (exponential interpolation) function in all Acrobat versions, including the latest DC beta.

   The only difference between the 2 files is the type of function used to implement the simple function ‘y = 1 – x’ to accomplish a TR function on a SoftMask that inverts the values.

   The one that is correctly rendered is InvertingTRasType4.pdf which uses a Type 4 (PS) calculator function type with operators:
   { 1 exch sub }

   The one that is completely wrong is InvertingTRasType2.pdf which uses a Type 2 exponential interpolation function with C0=1, C1=0 and N=1

   Both function should be equivalent in the domain [0 1].

6. May/June 2018 - Adobe Pro DC download link - NOT GOOD

   Had to redo PC. Downloaded and reinstalled Adobe Pro DC. No dark theme setting available. Contacted Adobe support. Tech insisted that the only way to help was to remote in. Tech changed some registry settings and from my recollection, the spt tech installed a "repair software". Then my system started revving up terribly. I didn't like what I was seeing. I ended session, reverted back to an image before remote session. Reopened Adobe Pro DC. Turns out the download gave me 2015 (classic) vs newer. Tried to update, it said it was up to date. Thankfully I found an older download in my files. I uninstalled the June 2018 download and reinstalled the Feb 2018 download and all is good.

7. Issues with FIll in and Sign Feature in Acrobat Pro

   I am having an issue with the "Fill in and Sign" feature. When I open up a PDF that doesn't have fillable fields but I'm just trying to add text to the page, as soon as I hit the letter "A" key, I get an error message that says, "Currently there are no form fields in this PDF. DO you want Adobe Acrobat to detect form fields for you?" This only happens when I have the Single Key Shortcut Accelerators enabled in preferences. When I don't, I can type the text without an issue but when they're enabled it triggers this error when I hit the "A" key. Many other letters and numbers work without a problem but some of the other keys have issues as well. What's the deal?

   This is totally ridiculous that you need to go into preferences, disable the hot keys, then go back to your document, type the text you need added to the page and then go back to preferences and re-enable the hotkeys which are supposed to be a convenience. What does it matter that you're adding text to a document that doesn't have fields. That seems like a glitch in the program. It allows you to type any of the letter, number, or symbol keys that aren't associated with shortcuts but doesn't let you type the 5-10 "hot keys". One function is definitely not related to the other.

   I'm not looking to go through the extra step process to add fields. I'm just looking to drop text in various parts of the document and be able to sign and send in a seamless step process. I shouldn't have to turn off accelerator keys in preferences and shouldn't have to go to Prepare Forms tools to drop text boxes to fill out and then come back to drop signatures. The tool functionality is there and shouldn't conflict with single key accelerators.

10. Please add the ability to select an application-level default size. Having to select "Actual size" is not good.

    I imagine if the pdf file was created from another application, and was set to "Fit" this print setting carried over to Adobe. If so, there needs to be a way to reset default print setting from print dialog box to change to "Actual." I don't know if if the original file was set to that or not as I don't have it but please look into this. It's very important issue.

11. More license options.

    It's moronic that I can't license more than two machines without having to establish a new email address. Rather than give you more money, I'll just remove it from the other machine. I'd rather give you more money, but that's not an option.

    Select Acrobat DC Preferences>General>Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer. Tick the box to choose this option, close preferences, then reopen it to discover Acrobat DC has unchecked it. Must generate hours of laughs around Adobe's watercooler. Using Windows 10.

    Your response team gives us a non-working solution, telling us to increase the size of thumbnails in Explorer to a point where content can be seen, but those thumbs are already being displayed at maximum size in Windows — a size that displays PSD thumbnails perfectly.

    Acrobat DC Pro Field Transparency tick box missing. Mac 10.13.4

    Prepare form makes fields with transparent Fill/Boarder.
    Create a check box. Boarder black / Fill White by default. Go to properties / Appearance to change. Open colour pallet. Transpanrecy option no longer there.
    Spoke to tech support. On for an hour on my screen. Windows version fine their end so defo Mac bug with High Sierra. They gave me a Jscript to work around but only works on single fields at a time.
    NEEDS SORTING FAST PLEASE!

14. Ability to disable Password Encryption for PDF documents, without disabling Protected Mode

    In order to disable the password encryption option within Adobe Acrobat Standard and Professional DC, the complete security suite under Protected Mode needs to be disabled. This means that Enterprises that don't want users to password encrypt PDF documents have to remove the built in Sandboxing solution for PDF documents, thus compromising their security controls.
    There should be a granular capability to disable the option to password encrypt PDF documents, without having to turn-off other security features.

16. livecycle crashes on preview

    Adobe Livecycle ES 4 crashes repeatingly after opening the preview screen. It's irritating. I see a lot of ad hoc repair items in this blog by the Adobe Support team (outsourced). There are a lot of issues in this case. When will Adobe really do something about it.

    Please let's have a call. In the early days Adobe issues will be solved. Since it's outsources the issues are increasing huge in my opinion.

17. Acrobat crashes after upgrade to 18.11.20040.19174

    After an upgrade to latest version 18.11.20040.19174 of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC was installed yesterday on my machine (Windows 10 Pro, version 1709) - Acrobat crashes 90% of times when trying to open any PDF file (sometimes it opens given file correctly and after closing the application and trying to open it again - it silently crashes). There is one third-party add-in installed that I'm using which worked fine so far, but now Acrobat crashes.

    I can provide you with a crash mini-dump if you want (68MB as ZIP)

18. BUG - can't edit fields in a form

    I open a pdf and go to tools > prepare form> open then select a form.

    As soon as I click on 'add a field' or an existing field, a stopwatch icon appears and Adobe closes. So I can't edit a form which makes a fillable pdf form impossible. Given the fee I pay every month I am NOT happy.

    Yes I have the most current version, Yes I tried the 'repair Adobe' option.

19. Permanent Crop

    Permanent crop tool that actually removes cropped content. Masking content does not work for PDFs that need to be later uploaded online. It botches thumbnail creation and causes files to be unnecessarily large.

    You can crop the file by following below steps.
    1) Open a pdf
    2) Click on edit pdf
    3) Select option Crop Pages
    4) Now select the desired area and click enter
    5) Now you can select your desired settings for crop, click ok and save your file.
