  1. I loved the earlier version. I was able to drag the bookmarks all around and then hit "re-order" (add-on) and the PDF would reorder the pages based on the bookmarks. The new version sucks!!!! What idiot created it? It is less user-friendly and most frustrating! Where is my list that shows all the mark-ups and comments or the feature to delete certain comments made by certain someone. Old version had a lot more features and practicality. The new version sucks!!! Can't stress enough. Talk about taking a giant step back in technology.

  2. Acrobat Reader likes to auto-generate URLs and other links.
This is generally good for users, and they can turn it on or off.

However, there are times when distributing that clients don't want them. It is possible to change global settings, but it creates problems for bookmarks, internal links, and accessibility.

So, it would be great if there could be a feature to prevent the auto-generation of links in Acrobat, so only the ones that will exist are by design.

  4. I use Acrobat to assemble documents, collect signatures, and to organize paperwork, especially for business and professional licenses. I would like the ability to make a Table of Contents so that I could easily navigate different sections (like chapters) of a document, rearrange sections/chapters, export, etc. Even a Table of Contents from Bookmarks would be helpful, but I would like to be able to tag multiple pages in a single bookmark as a section/chapter. This would be an important accessibility feature, too--beyond just making organization and editing more efficient.

  5. Highlighting is the main reason why I use pdfs. The main method that I use is selecting the text through hold left click and drag followed by right click and highlight. Usually the page is zoomed so that I can read the text. In a two-column journal, it is often the case that I want to highlight text from one column [bottom] to the other [top] but because the page is zoomed in, the page has to autoscroll back to the top - the speed which this happens is very slow.

    Solution:
Please consider enabling selected text [hold left click]…

  6. Your new interface update is horrible. I understand the need for simplification the attempt to make things easier for the end user, but not every one has the same needs. I don't NEED a tool bar that I can't get rid of or at least customize for my needs. I need a program that will give me the option to select and de-select the functions I use on a daily basis. I don't care about e-sign, but I would like to have an icon to organize pages with out having to go through two or three menus.

    Yes you made…

  7. Please, add methods in the IAC interface for OLE and/or the JavaScript API to CREATE or ADD new named destinations with name, page number and rectangle coordinates of the destination. Also please add a method to associate the named destination to bookmarks. I have all my source data in Excel, so I'm using VBA.

  8. When using the pen, allow the user to scroll, etc, by using a finger touch. At the very least, make scrolling with a two finger touch possible. Otherwise, you need to keep switching tools when reading through and commenting on the PDF.

  10. I would really like the ability to scroll with a touchscreen pen or finger when the highlight function is on in Adobe reader. I rarely use the full width of the screen while reading pdf's, and an ideal function for me, when in highlight, would be: when dragging the pen across text, it highlights; when using the pen in the margins of the page, it writes, and when using the pen off the page and along the unused spaces on the sides, it scrolls.
As it is, you need to toggle the highlight function on and off to scroll, which…

  11. I would like to be able to create a pdf using only part of a document using the Acrobat add-in for Microsoft Office.

It is important that the section of the document contain all the bookmarks relevant to that sections.

Extracting pages from the full document leads to a pdf with no bookmarks.

The only way I've found so far is to delete the unwanted pages and then to delete the unwant4ed bookamerks.

  12. When viewing the OMG UML Specification pdf, which is 796 pages, if I click Cmdl+F to find some text, after the text is found, scrolling through pages gets very slow.

Indeed, the problem is noticeable even in short Pdf files (18 pages)

The slowness continues even if I disable the "Highlight all matches" option from the search preferences. When I close the Find dialog, scrolling speed is good again.

I am working on a Macbook Pro 13 Inch 2015 model, MacOS Catalina, Acrobat Reader DC 2020.006.20042 version.

  13. I frequently create links in Acrobat. It would be very, very helpful if there was a shortcut to create them, just as there is for creating bookmarks.

  14. To bookmark text, drag to select it. The selected text becomes the label of the new bookmark ONLY if you use the mouse—using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-B creates a bookmark with a blank name.

    Please fix!

  15. Similarly, ability to move documents with a dialog box showing original page number and desired or update page number would be extremely helpful for large number of pages. This will allow us to see the page being moved correctly. This is not the case with organize pages or scrolling. Scrolling helps, but on extended scroll freeze is experienced

  16. In the right side panel, Acrobat shows current and total page numbers. While holding the scroll bar and moving through a document, it is very helpful to see the current page number. This was the behavior in past versions of Acrobat. Currently, the page number field only updates when the scroll bar is released, leading to a guessing game when trying to scrub to a specific page.

  18. The "Highlight Current Bookmark" option currently makes the outline of the bookmark icon a little darker or bolder, but I can barely tell the difference to see which is highlighted. Could the "highlighting" be changed somehow to make it stand out a little more? Maybe the fill color for icon of the current bookmark could be a different color or darker shade.

  19. While creating a new bookmark put the destination page number somewhere in its name so I know where it is by looking at it in the list. Maybe suffix the name (which the user enters) with page number, separated by a hyphen, eg, "Rio Accord - p.34" to indicate that this bookmark was created on page 34. Offer the semi-completed name (eg, "- p.34") with the page number already in it to the user to complete (eg, by inserting "Rio Accord") during bookmark creation. This would give a good idea of where the various topics I marked lie in the…

It would be great to be able to grab and pull the left edge of the FIELDS pane over to the left to widen it. Some of the text field names can be very long and can look identical to others unless you can see the whole title. (I know you can hover over the title to see the full text but that only seems to work intermittently, and is time-consuming).
Also, when scrolling up and down or when trying to grab and move titles to rearrange the tab order, it's easy to get confused and lose your…
