  1. I have been working with Acrobat for as long as it has existed, and this version is a nightmare. I have spent hours trying to sign a contract while my customer waits for a response. The sign icon at the top is greyed out. I am unable to edit, add text fields, add signature image. I may have to resort to printing the entire contract and rescanning it as I also cannot insert a page into this locked document. We do not need more features, we just need the ones we have to work.

  2. You can manually or professionally convert Maildir to MBOX. To do the manual conversion, use an email client such as Thunderbird. First, install ImportExportTools NG add-on. After that, place the Maildir files in the Thunderbird profile and use the add-on to export the files as MBOX format files.

The procedure is technical, long, and not suitable for mass data. It involves Thunderbird installation, poses a risk of data corruption, and does not directly support folder structure preservation or metadata correctness.

Another option is to use the DRS Softech Maildir Converter for Mac is a robust and universal tool. The software…

  6. Users should be presented with a list of features that they want to install so that they are available when needed instead of having to wait for the feature to install when first used. This is infuriating when you are on a deadline and management is screaming for you to hurry up. Also, the notification is too small and can be easily overlooked making the user believe that the app is just broken. Finally, the notification states that you will be notified when installation is complete, but I have never seen a notification in the several times I've installed a…

  7. Mac OS X 10.13.6
Acrobat Pro DC – Version 2021.001.20138

Inserting a text watermark using the Helvetica Neue font enters a series of boxes instead of the text. All weights and slopes affected except, bizarrely, the ‘Thin’ weight.

Inserting text using the Helvetica Font produces the error message “The font ‘Helvetica,Xxxx’ contains an invalid encoding. Some characters may not display correctly”. This error message appears on saving the PDF and every time it is opened in Acrobat Reader DC.

Both fonts are system fonts and work satisfactorily in all applications (e.g. InDesign, Word) including Acrobat Pro DC, but not as…

  8. I have Adobe Creative Cloud with Adobe DC et al. Up to today I have easily & successfully clicked the 'Convert current web page to an Adobe PDF file' icon in my browser tool bar.

Today, it does nothing & doesn't generate the PDF.

No updates have been done to my machine, system or OS or browser.

When I try to launch Adobe DC & try the same function via File>Create>PDF from Webpage it generates a PDF with the title on the top line & the URL at the bottom line & an empty file. So, in other words, useless.

  10. I've added new "Custom command" -> Inspect document -> Text to Curves

I've added that Custom Command to Quick tools toolbar.
The idea was that i have one click text to curves button.
After clicking indeed the text changes to curves, BUT when you click save icon, it goes disabled (as if you'd think you saved the file). Yet if you reopen the file the text is text not curves.

It only works if you go Save AS and then choose your file once again but it defeats the purpose of having custom command. It's then easier to just add…

  12. Man. This sucks. Somehow I got 5 PDFs open in one Acrobat window. They are all lined up as tabs. That's cool.
Now I want to "SAVE AS" ... there's no file menu available anywhere. All I can see is "CONVERT, SIGN, MORE" at the top bar.

Hitting the HOME icon takes me to an indecipherable mish-mash of options to add comments, open recent documents (which duh are already open) or look at "Starred" files. (huh?) Oh, and the side menu now has a bunch of "cloud storage" options (which are useless... I just want to save the open file…

  13. You can copy an OST file manually to a different drive by first closing Outlook and finding the existing OST file (typically located in %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Outlook). Duplicate the file on the new drive, then delete the original one. Then open the Mail applet in the Control Panel, choose your Outlook profile, and click Data Files. Delete the old OST file and add a new one by directing Outlook to the new location of the relocated file. Alternatively, rebuild the Outlook profile completely and set it to use the new drive.

This approach does have its drawbacks. Mere relocating the OST file…

  15. I do a lot of re-ordering and re-arranging of PDF documents. In the "Old Acrobat" interface, the green "Organize Pages" button was in a narrow column of easily-accessible buttons on the right side of the screen. I could snap into the Organize Pages view, rearrange my pages, and snap back into editing. In the "New Acrobat" interface, the only way to access this feature is clicking the "All tools" button, which eats up a good chunk of screen space, and click "Organize Pages."

Either give us an icon-only view of the "All tools" bar, as the old Acrobat interface, or…

  16. It would be great to be able to sign a document after it has been received back from a client for signature. I am a photographer and most of my contracts are 2 way signatures. As of now I have to send it to myself to an unrelated business email in order for me to sign the document after a client to be able to provide them with a copy signed by both the client and myself. I find it to be labor intensive not be able to sign the document in Adobe Sign after they have signed it.

    I…

  17. Adobe required duplicating a source of files after my system board was replaced. The service did not recognize the previous instance of the One Drive personal documents storage source and so duplicated it again. However, the latter was a working link while the former instance failed to work. Ability to remove these items would be useful. Thank you.

  18. After the last Windows-Update, several users suddenly could not save edited PDF forms by simply clicking the save icon as before.

Acrobat changed the name of the document and gave this message,"The document could not be saved. The document cannot be saved to this filename. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder."

I have found a few workarounds online:

    1. Users can close the File Explorer window before attempting to save the document. This doesn't work all the time and can therefore be frustrating.

    2. Users can click on the original document in the save dialog…
