  1. In the commenting mode for Acrobat DC Pro, there are "strikethrough", "replace", and "insert text" tools, among others.

When I select and copy some text (for example, to count the words or rephrase it in another window), it copies the original text and disregards anything crossed out or inserted. This means I have to re-do all the changes by hand.

It would be great if one could copy the text in a way that incorporates the changes, similar to how you can opt to copy text with or without formatting, in some programs.

  2. Holding the Command key (Mac) or Control key (Windows) should allow for selecting/highlighting multiple, separate characters or words within a text field. Similar to how the Shift key can be used to select/highlight a single range of characters.

This would allow easier batch modification, to be used when making many singular characters within a paragraph into subscripts, for instance. Command or Control-selecting each character to be modified then enables the user to only have to click the subscript button once, instead of for each character after highlighting.

  3. The attached generated PDF files contain text which is 36pt in size.

When inspecting the text using Edit Text in 'original.pdf' the size is incorrectly shown as 48.

If the element is copied and pasted as in 'copied.pdf' the new element shows correctly as 36 and the original as 48.

Running a preflight check reports all text as 36.

  4. When editing a PDF, users should be able to drag text boxes (full of text or not) from one page to another. This would allow easy rearrangement of previously populated PDFs or easy reformation of currently being created PDFs.

  6. Just like all the other fields, we should be able to add conditions to a hyperlink. Why is this field treated so differently?

  7. Not possible to edit text after saving files with active windows in PDF. For example when there is active window where we should write date and then we are adding signature, then field with date is not active anymore and it is not possible to change date with EDIT function either. It is very flustrating!

  8. Steps to reproduce: (Windows 11 environment)
    1. Create a pdf in Adobe Acrobat Pro (Version 24.1) with the page rotated clockwise, aka "landscape"
    2. Use prepare form tool to add a fillable text field, set the field properties so that font size is "Auto"
    3. Save, and open in chrome using the Adobe Acrobat extension (Ver 24.8.1.1)

When entering text, it does not fill the whole field and the font size reduces abruptly. Behavior is not seen in built-in chrome pdf handling, or in Acrobat Windows App.

  9. 1) Read in the attached file ("a.pdf").
    2) Select "Export a PDF>text (plain)" and save to the file "a.txt"

For me, the file is nearly empty, 14 bytes in size (see attachment). a.pdf has plenty of OCR text and cut-and-paste copies plenty of good-looking text. I don't know how a.pdf was originally created, but in any event export of text should produce something better than this I think.

  10. Bug Report - In JavaScript, it's common practice to format the code to make it more readable by using the TAB key to indent text. This has worked fine in all previous versions of Adobe Acrobat that I've used. However, in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, pressing the TAB key moves the text to the right once, as it should, but then the focus moves to the OK button to close the Editor. The focus should stay in the Editor so TAB can be pressed again to move the text further to the right. It is EXTREMELY inconvenient to…

  11. When I try to fill this form: http://www.ru.emb-japan.go.jp/VISANDTOURISM/Visa/template/application.pdf -- which is a Visa application form at Japanese embassy in Moscow, Adobe reader DC crashes when I scroll down a Country/Region drop-down list.

I remember that this form have never had such problems in previous years (with earlier version of Acrobat Reader).

I have attached various information that may be useful.

  12. when doing a calculation in a form like
    A1B1=C1
with given standard values A1=2, B1=3 resulting in a field with calculation result of 6 (from 2x3=6) you get mistakes in a new calculation when you
    - copy the three field
    - rename them to D1, E1 and F1 and
    - change the standard values and the calculation to D1=3, E1=4
    - change the calculation to D1
    E1 with result 12
the shown form is still A1*B1=C1 values in both lines

This is a bug that should be solved.

  13. Hi,

The date format using Adobe Form doesn't get carried forward to Adobe Sign. With the volume I am working with, it is just not possible to manually change dates in the form each time as there are several dates in the form and I have to send a large volume of the forms in one go. I tried using the script "Text1es:signr1:isdate(format=dd/mm/yyyy)" in Prepare form under Custom Calculation Field and it doesnt work. I tried locking the format and it doesnt work either. This is causing so much problem and…

  14. With the latest update of Acrobat (2024.002.20895) I have been experiencing issues reading, completing, and interacting with PDF forms using both JAWS and NVDA screen readers. The screen reader keeps leaving forms mode when I'm in fields. Instead of typing into the field, it recognizes my keystrokes as JAWS commands. For example, when I try to type "Henry" in a Name field, pressing "H" makes it jump to the next heading in the document instead of typing the character(s). I have confirmed that I am in forms mode (both visually and via the sound…

  16. I am trying to copy both Thai text and Burmese text from a Pdf document. But these are not recognized languages in this Adobe program so it tries to copy them as English and makes a mess of them. Why can't the text be copied over as it appears in the original document? Then, I could use Google translate to change that into English. There is no need for Adobe to recognize the language being copied, just copy it exactly as it is in the original document.

  19. I want scanned documents to be searchable, and I want people to be able to copy/paste text from the documents, but I don't want them to be able to edit that text. I cannot find a setting that allows that.

  20. I think the measure tool in Acrobat Pro is very useful. But It is not possible to change the text size/font style of a measured dimension!
I'm sorry, it would be very useful if Adobe put it on
