  2. Tagged PDF with alt-text is required under accessibility rules and many laws. When creating a PDF from a Webpage, using the Enhanced engine under the advanced options, the resulting PDF is untagged, and thus inaccessible. When using the Classic engine it results in a Tagged PDF, but Alt-text for images does not convert.

This means it is not possible to create an accessible Tagged PDF from a Webpage using the Adobe software.
My request is for a Create PDF from Webpage ability to produce a fully accessible, tagged PDF with alt text directly from a web page.

  3. I would like to give clients the option of printing (at Low Resolution Only) AND the ability to extract and/or crop pages within the document into a new, restricted to low-res print pdf. At the very least, to be able to REDACT portions of pages, so that they are able to have stand-alone portions of the document without exposing other portions on the same page. The current options when print restrictions are ticked allow for "inserting" - but NOT for "extracting", which seems odd. Thank you!

  4. Acrobat DC 2020 (20.013.20064)
    MacOSX 10.14.16

Exporting PDFs in Acrobat DC 2020 to Word (.docx or .doc) embedded raster images with (rastered) text (e.g. maps etc.) are blurry/with low resolution in the resulting Word document. This is especially the case if the export OCR option is clearly disabled. Other raster images (without text) are not affected. Embeeded raster images in the source PDF can be jpg or tif with "high" resolution like 300 or 600dpi and the result is allways the same bad quality for raster images with text (either source format of the embedded …

When we exchange layout PDFs with our clients, they send us the PDF back with comments. It would be really helpful if you could insert screenshots via copy/paste into the comment box.

  6. I have fully paid Acrobat Pro DC for Windows PC. Inspite of this Adobe treats me as illegal user, makes me download AAM (around 86 MB). Then tells me that my copy of Acrobat is valid for 00 days. Mkaes me re-register the copy everyday. They have most incompetent customer care, which make you go in loop for hours without any solutions.

Do you get any sadistic pleasure in making your customers keep downloading acrobat everyday?

Are there any human beings I can talk to? or all only looped computers?

  7. I am mass printing forms that contain signatures created by drawing on tablets or mobile devices to Acrobat PRO; however I am seeing that some signatures are being covered by a black box when opened in Pro. It is random. This does not happen when I try to Save as PDF and not bring the image into Adobe however I then lose all Adobe Pro capabilities like Combine, OCR, Organize, etc

  8. According to the documentation provided by Adobe and Brother the printer should be able to switch trays and print the image on the correct size paper. The tray switching works but despite numerous hours on the phone with Apple and Brother the document prints as if it's on letter when it should be on legal. I've followed the directions provided by Adobe but the documents do not print correctly,

    Hi,

Are you facing this issue with the current version of Acrobat?

    Thanks
    Ritesh

  9. Less idea than general feedback below.

I've found adobe acrobat to be a fantastic pdf editor, however, on nearly every occasion i use it I notice there is a considerable performance issue when scrolling through documents.

Vertical scrolling is usually fine, although sluggish, however scrolling side to side nearly always results in there being so much lag, by the time i finish scrolling on the mouse there is about a minute of slow page movement.

This is exasperated when zoomed in where it becomes almost unusable to navigate around a document.

I'm using a very powerful gaming laptop, and…

  10. I am a sports photographer. Mostly tennis. I might take 200 photos of a particular player. My intention is to sell the images to the players/parents. I have to send a PDF file of all the images for them to look at. When I send the file they may just copy the images, regardless of the fact I have put a logo over the images. Some people are happy with that. Some just keep the images with the logo over the top. It means I do not get paid. I want to be able to…

  11. Hello. For the latest version (23.0) of Adobe Acrobat, I found it is not possible to change the distance between the Thumbnail Images. The distance right now is too large, especially when I have more columns (See my screenshot attached). Compared with the earlier versions, this new feature is really not very helpful. It is quite inefficient to overview many pages together. It would be helpful to include an extra conntrol parameter to not only change the sizes of the Thumbnail Images but also their in-between distances.

  12. TLDR: expected result is that fonts will look the same in exported JPEG as they do in the PDF (when displayed 1:1). They currently don't.

When exporting to JPEG from PDF, even at max quality setting, embedded fonts have no smoothing/anti-aliasing applied when rasterized and look very choppy. Especially if exporting for web at 72ppi. Only way to mitigate (without fully resolving) this is to export at some absurdly high resolution (600+). We need not only resolution settings but dimension settings for JPEG export settings, and the embedded fonts need to be rasterized at that size and resolution / have…

  13. When a PDF form is seen on line or in a web browser there is a light blue background in fields , buttons etc. For what I use PDFs for (educational material ) it makes them unusable online which is a shame. It would be nice to disable this feature so that this is not seen

  14. To ensure that assistive technologies can parse tables, headers that are repeated across pages should be marked as artifacts. This is recommended by the PDF Association's Tagged PDF Best Practice Guide: Syntax: https://www.pdfa.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/TaggedPDFBestPracticeGuideSyntax.pdf . However, this structure is not followed by PDFMaker when converting from Word to PDF.

    Steps to reproduce the issue
    1. Open the attached Word document.
    2. Go to Acrobat > Create PDF.
    3. Press Save.
    4. Open the resulting PDF (also attached).
    5. Open the Tags panel (View > Show/Hide > Navigation Panes > Tags).
    6. Expand the <Table> tag.

    Environment (OS, other related application…

  15. seriously, this is such a basic feature that's available on any type of file organizer these days.
whenever want to move a pdf into another file in my document cloud I have to:
    1) mark said file,
    2) then click move.
    3) pick the file to move my pdf into.
    4) then press ok...

anywhere else this can be achieved in two steps, drag the pdf to the the destination file, and let go!

while I'm at it, the document cloud seems so unintuitive. Regarding saving pdfs onto the cloud, it seems like that only way for me to save…

  16. Not only is the DC interface confusing and more time-consuming to use than the old one, but it does not comply with Section 508 of the Americans With Disability Act, which requires that the federal government, in its software procurement process, consider accessibility. Adobe Acrobat does not take into account the needs of users who rely on voice recognition software to accomplish actions that fully abled users accomplish with the mouse. When using voice recognition software, it is quick and easy to dictate a shortcut key or sequence of shortcut keys, but extremely slow, cumbersome and error-prone to get the…

  17. When a date field in a PDF form is set to "read only" and the user tabs or clicks into the box and presses the down arrow, the calendar picker still pops up and allows the user to select a new date. This was tested by setting the field to "read only" via signature, and by setting it manually as well.

Tested in both Windows and Mac environment on the latest versions of reader and pro.

Expected result would be that the field remains completely uneditable when setting to read only.

Observed result when following the steps outlined above is…

  18. Using the find tool to search for text within the PDF, the search will either find text your didn't ask for (see Error image) or if there are multiple results, sometimes all the consecutive results (Capture 2) will be hidden behind a blank/white box that I cannot interact with.

  19. Steps to reproduce the issue: Open a PDF file in single-page continuous layout. Connect an external mouse. Compare scrolling the PDF with an external mouse and with the built-in trackpad.

Environment: Acrobat Pro DC 2021.001.20145 on macOS 11.2.3 in MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020). External mouse: Logitech M720 Triathlon. Smooth scrolling is enabled.

Expected result: Scrolling with the scroll wheel on an external mouse should scroll the PDF as smoothly as scrolling with the built-in trackpad.

Observed result: Scrolling with the scroll wheel on an external mouse scrolls the PDF too quickly compared to smoother scrolling using the…

  20. For ComparePDF, I hope there will be a way to make this side by side view switch to vertical. So I could be looking at comparisons this way (combined two screenshots below):

    https://community.adobe.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/124625i649C9FB593B67D14/image-size/large?v=1.0&amp;px=999

I'm looking at financials with small font, so each line of text is fairly long.

In Side-By-Side view, zooming out makes the text too small; zooming in makes half of each line out of view.
