Error using Create PDF tool - Acrobat 2017 with Office 2013
Using Abobe Acrobat Standard 2017 - Version 2017.011.30169
MS Office 2013
The issuse occurs when using the Create PDF tool with MS Word and MS Excel files. You pick your file > Create > get an error from Adobe PDFMaker "An unexptected error occured. PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF."
The file is then silently held open in 'read only mode' and you have to kill WINWORD.exe or EXCEL.exe in task manager to release the file.
In Word/Excel File > Save as Adobe PDF works and Printing to Adobe or Microsoft PDF works. Seems isolated to CreatePDF tool.
We've reinstalled Adobe. repaired Office, reinstalled Office, updated c++ redistributables, recreated local profiles, tested on newly imaged laptop. We always get the error. The printing options are an acceptable workaround, but we have some people that like to use the create tool

"Auto detect pen hardware to enable markup" missing from settings
That setting is missing for one user and present for a newly created user.
How do we get it back? When it's missing, the use of pen-based entries is horrible. When it's present the pen-based activity is fine.2 votes -
Adobe Acrobat Portfolio and Attachment Features Need Keyboard Accessibility Enabled to read documents and access the Open Document Link
Within Adobe Acrobat there are options to Create a Portfolio of documents or to use the Attachment feature to create a group of documents. While keyboard shortcuts allow you to browse some of the menus, get to the document list, and select a document from the list. However, there is not a keyboard short cut to read the document in the view or to access the Open Document link. It seems to be only available through mouse selection.
This places users of these features at risk because the end user can't access the document to read it using only keyboard selections. Since these features lack keyboard accessibility, the product is not fully accessible.

5 votesHi,
As I can see, the issue is related to keyboard keys, Please follow the below controls to access the Open Document link.
Use tab to click on Attachment in Left Hand Pane. Press tab multiple times to bring the focus on the Option menu. Click Enter and Use arrow keys to navigate inside Options menu items. This resolves your access to Open Document Link.Secondly, Use Ctrl+Shift+Y and then Ctrl+Shift+V/B to read the document using Read out loud feature. You can alternatively see it in View Menu → Read Out Loud → Click Activate ROL → Click Read this page/ end of the document.
Please confirm if this resolves your issue.
Thanks

Separate Adobe Acrobat subscription license from Others
My adobe acrobat pro is paid by a company who requires me to write a report for them (paid per document) while my adobe photography plan is personal subscription.
It's not easy to switch between accounts in Photoshop but worse in Adobe Acrobat. If you are currently login with your other account. the options are only: "Buy, Try for free, or Quit." Why there isn't "sign in with different account" or at least an option to sign out>> sign-in as in Photoshop welcome page?

Can we open a PDF file like a code file, the way we used to open our code file in gvim
Can we open a PDF file like a code file, the way we used to open our code file in gvim ie same file can be open in two/three tabs. (like seeing function decl. & it's call?) This would be very useful to read in a large PDF file, such as reading a sub chapter on page number 50 and referencing page number 225 for further explanation.

Action Wizard skips the next document after pop up message
I'm running Action Wizard to fixup several PDFs. When an error message pops up, I click OK to dismiss it. Then I click Start to resume the Action Wizard. The Wizard skips over the next document in the list and adds a check mark as though it processed. When the summary report displays, that document is missing as though it wasn't ever in the "Files to be processed:"

Wnat to select which documents to open in DC Pro and which one in DC Reader. Or else be able to set DC Reader as default.
Most PDF documents I open are for viewing (prefer to open in DC Reader that is got my preferred tool bar arrangements) and seldom for editing (which can be 'open with' DC Pro). Since I have both DC Reader and DC Pro installed, it does not allow me to 'open with' DC Reader anymore, even though I get option on the right-click to open menu.

Scale Ratio Rounds to 2 Decimal Places
The scale ratio requires you to input decimals rather than fractions when measuring architectural scales, i.e. 0.125" = 1'-0" for 1/8" = 1'-0". However, after inputting the decimals, Acrobat rounds to the nearest 2 decimal places. So 0.125" becomes 0.13". Doing so makes all measurements off by .005". This is unacceptable in the architectural world. This functionality should NEVER round the decimals, and should house at least 3 decimal places to ensure accuracy.
This occurs on Mac and Windows, in every version of Acrobat and Acrobat Pro currently downloadable. It was tested by my team and internally at Adobe.

Acrobat Pro 2020 is Uggggg-ly! And User Interface Worse
This new version looks so childish! Not professional in appearance at all.
AND... too many steps to digitally sign a document! It used to be so easy! Can't you revert back to what worked smoothly???????
I truly detest working in Acrobat now.

Preflight library and profile import and export dialogs inacessible
When trying to import or export a preflight library or a profile inside a library, the "file open" dialog does not open and instead throws a warning messagebox "Error in OS call SHGetFolderPath: -2147024829". See attached screenshot. This error of course hints to something in the underlying OS, but should be handled differently by Acrobat. For example, by instead opening a "file open" dialog in some default or safe directory instead.
I tried removing the registry key HKCU\Software\Adobe and its subkeys while Acrobat was closed. Then trying again, but it did not make any difference.
Probably not fully reproducable on every computer. Might be reproducable by importing a preflight profile, then removing the directory it was in, and trying to import a preflight profile again.

"Hover" event on buttons sometimes remains after mouse cursor leaves
Bug related to viewing interactive PDFs.
- Make a PDF with a button in InDesign. Give it a different appearance when hovered by the mouse.
- Make multiple buttons like this next to each other (touching side-by-side) to make the problem much easier to recreate.
- Export as interactive PDF.
When viewing in Acrobat DC, move the cursor accross the buttons. They show the "hover" appearance while the cursor is over a button, but if the cursor moves from one button to the next the appearance on the previous button often tends to "stick", so you end up with multiple buttons showing the "hover" state (even after the cursor has left the buttons). The speed of the cursor seems to matter to some extend. (I tested another PDF viewer, and it did not show this problem).
It is a clear bug, and I can recreate it 100% of the time on my document. Hopefully that means you will be able to fix it.
The problem is super easy to demonstrate in a video, so I attached one!

Acrobat Pro DC – Text Watermark Font Bug
Mac OS X 10.13.6
Acrobat Pro DC – Version 2021.001.20138Inserting a text watermark using the Helvetica Neue font enters a series of boxes instead of the text. All weights and slopes affected except, bizarrely, the ‘Thin’ weight.
Inserting text using the Helvetica Font produces the error message “The font ‘Helvetica,Xxxx’ contains an invalid encoding. Some characters may not display correctly”. This error message appears on saving the PDF and every time it is opened in Acrobat Reader DC.
Both fonts are system fonts and work satisfactorily in all applications (e.g. InDesign, Word) including Acrobat Pro DC, but not as a watermark. The fonts check-out as undamaged, and are not in conflict with any other fonts.
This bug is duplicated on more than one installation of Acrobat Pro DC on separate Macs.
It looks suspiciously like a bug.

copy text from PDF including changes (e.g. made with "strikethrough" or "insert" tools)
In the commenting mode for Acrobat DC Pro, there are "strikethrough", "replace", and "insert text" tools, among others.
When I select and copy some text (for example, to count the words or rephrase it in another window), it copies the original text and disregards anything crossed out or inserted. This means I have to re-do all the changes by hand.
It would be great if one could copy the text in a way that incorporates the changes, similar to how you can opt to copy text with or without formatting, in some programs.

Allow default setting to allow close of current tab when multiple tabs are open
There is an option to always close all tabs in the dialog pop up but no option to just close the current tab by default when X'ing out on the top right of the window. I would like to be able to just close the current tab by default.

PDF opened with Internet Explorer DLL will not print
When opening a PDF in Internet Explorer with the Reader DLL plugin we can no longer open the print dialogue.
The error has started after the latest windows update to 2004 or 20H2. These are just the ones I have heard of from our users.I have tried to get help in https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader/pdf-opened-in-explorer-will-not-print/m-p/11265762

Some text changes colour after 3 days = maybe something to do with the Bold selection?
Hi
We had to make some urgent edits in a large PDF on Friday when I went to look through again on the monday some of the text looked like it was missing - it is there but invisible until I turn off the Bold Selection in the edit panel- then it shows up - and if I rebold it stays... This is the second document that it has happened and we are making quick edits to make a deadline by using the edit panel in Acrobat (this is instead of going back to Indesign/Word to make the changes and replacing the pages required- which I will do in the future as I can have this happening for tender work)
I am checking the embeding feature and think it is because the font may not be embedded - but why does it stop working after not being opened for 3 days?
I have sent one of the cover pages to see how it is coming out - the blue text was added in the PDF after (all the rest came from the Indesign file) It was perfect on the Friday . opening and closing. But today it was corrupted and had to be resetHi

F2 should be returned to renaming function
With the newest update, F2 (used universally for renaming across every other PC/Windows program/functionality) was changed to a help function that brings up an Adobe Internet help site.
F1 is used universally for help, and no one needs that much access to Adobe help pages.
F2 should be returned to renaming. Ctrl-F2 is a ridiculous and difficult change for renaming and it's the worst idea ever.
I remediate hundreds of PDFs for accessibility, and having to make a more complicated keystroke to rename tags is a huge problem.
