  1. Add "EIN" as a formatting option in Adobe Pro using > Edit pdf > More Tools > Prepare Form > (highlight field) Properties > Format - drop-down choices include Social Security Number, Zip Code, etc.
I had a field formatted using what shows as "Arbitrary Mask" but the formatting created an error which started recently. I did correct things but lost my tab order.

  2. My old adobe used to keep the comments tab open. This updated version closes it constantly, anytime I press escape out of one of the comment tools and it's a pain. I do a lot of markups using adobe and it makes me want to just print and hand-redline the drawings instead. PLEASE bring back the "always open" option for the comments tab...

  3. Can you please add a ruler tool. One which you could click on and it would go across the screen. If you could have it utilize the up and down keys to control it's movement, that would be great. Our firm receives a lot of lists in adobe pdf. form and it would help us keep track of where we are as we go through the pdf list.

    Thank you.

  4. Reopening the bug notice from 2019.
The artifacting error is not fully functioning within Acrobat's tools as of July 2022 with the current beta version.

    @Rachit/Adobe, please reopen this case.

  5. Acrobat DC is an absolute PITA to use. It has no UX continuity with the rest of the CC suite, the tools are allocated to the vaguest of places and the basic functionality that is regularly used, Marquee Zoom Tool especially, are relegated to the top menu when they should be in the header with the page controls. These are tools that are regularly used, unlike the '-' and '+' buttons and search tool that are in clear view.

It's a pointless, redundant redesign that causes more problems and waste of time than it actually serves. Bring back the layout…

  6. Hi, I found an annoying ongoing issue. I use my daily tools box set (left side of the program window, when the document is opened). But without any reason, it's time to time reset by default and again and again, I must collect my new own...
The next one is about the tools line on top of the window it's seen before you do not open any document (in the Home tab), the same issue...

  7. In older versions of Acrobat, when you right click a page in page pane, it would have move which allowed you to type a number and page will move to take that position. This is important when you have more than 20 pages on a full screen. To move page 78 to page 4, just right click page 78, select move and type page number 4, Page 78 moves to page number 4. Dragging over left side up or down at times become sticky and have to do it in two or three parts.

  8. by clicking three dots (...), a drop-down menu appears which is the closest thing I can achieve to my beloved custom tools that always appeared in the interface, in the order that I selected, and sometimes adjusted. Once something has been done, instead of dropping down the tools, clicking the three dots seems to repeat the most recent action, resulting in unwanted zooming. If you've got the three dots program to repeat the last action, please add an option to stop it.

  9. Hello,

We have a PDF file that seems to be ZUGFeRD compliant according to the ZUGFeRD Community verification tool (ZUV - https://www.zugferd-community.net/en/open_community/validation) but when trying to validate this PDF file using the Adobe Acrobat Preflight tool there is an error message that states the XMP data is not valid.
I am attaching the sample file, a report from the ZUV validator, and a screenshot from the Preflight tool.

  10. I cannot get the Page Up/Down keys to work. I'm viewing a multi-page PDF in full page to flip through them and spot changes. I can't see an option to reset tools or select this as a transition option.
Also, in all other Adobe products, you can hit Command+` to jump between open documents, but not in Acrobat.

  11. Build and make available a PDF recovery tool for your paying licensed users. From time to time a PDF will corrupt and will not open. Often a ton of work has gone into assembling/noting/creating that file. There are options on the web that are "pay for recovery". However, I do not want to put sensitive corporate data into some site on the web to "try" and recover it. Nor am I interested in purchasing a recovery software from an unknown vendor that again "may" recover the file. I don't know what else that app is doing with the data in…

  12. I mostly use the Edit or Prepare Form tools. While I'm updating my document, Acrobat crashes at random times. There is nothing consistent, it just seems to be more finicky after the most recent update. After it crashes, I reopen it and the customized toolbar on the right has reverted back to the default tools. This is very inconvenient and happens several times a day while editing or preparing a document. Is this a known issue and is there a fix for this?

I am sorry for the inconvenience you are facing.
Can you share with us the acrobat version and the operating system you are using
Can you share with us some sample PDFs with which you are facing this issue.

  13. Every time Acrobat updates in the background, it inserts its buttons on my Word ribbon. I can hide this section or disable the plugin, but these changes are erased with the next update. At times, the plugins also break Outlook. I don't want or need them. Can I opt out?

  14. Using Acrobat PRO DC 19.008.20074
When I open Adobe, Combine files, add the files I want to combine, either PDF or other word, excel, etc, click on Combine. What I end up with is a "PORTFOLIO". The thumbnails are all visible on the navigation pane but the actual PDF that was supposed to contain all the pages I just combined, there is only the first page, no other pages. I create Board packets with this feature. It has become a big headache. How do I get this to work.

  15. When you create a PDF from Acrobat>Tools>Create PDF from Blank Page, by default, it creates the document in letter size. However, in Europe we work with A4 all the time. It would be helpful to setup the default to A4 (or other format) so that Acrobat pro always uses this default page size when creating new pdf pages.

  16. With the selection tool selected and the comments pane open, you should be able to click and type anywhere in your PDF, and the relevant text edit tool will be applied (strikethrough, replace, insert). This is a great timesaver. On my Mac, though, this works until I press one of the 'problem' keys – such as e, y, i, d, h, j – at which point no mark-up appears and my keyboard is disabled (including the arrow keys) until I close Acrobat and reopen it.
Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix this bug? It doesn't…

  17. I often use the draw polygon tool so the text is precisely identifed. To draw the polygon, as you know, I have to draw a line, stop, draw the next line, stop, draw the 3rd line, stop, etc. If I want to highlight that same text, I can simply start at one spot and drag my mouse over all the text, which is very convenient. Why cannot the draw polygon tool have a similar function? I would select "draw polygon", put my cursor at starting place, drag to ending place, and the polygon would be drawn.

  18. I'd like to see the highlight tool as a red underline option as well as a couple of different colors.

  19. Add the ability to change the pre-defined colors for the highlight tool. Having to highlight first, than go and change the properties of the highlighted text just to replace Adobes forced colors wastes a lot of time
