1. Allow field to be placed during drag-and-drop even if it is partially off the page

   Adobe Sign advanced mode:

   What I'd like to be able to do:
   Drag a field into place so that the left side of the field is aligned with the underlying document, EVEN if the right side of the field is hanging off the edge. I would then resize the field so that the whole field is on the page.

   What it does now:
   If any part of the field you are dragging into place is not on the pdf page, Acrobat Pro DC will not let you 'drop' it there.

   The problem:
   It turns what should be two steps into a four-step process. You have to drag the field somewhere on the page so that it's not hanging off the edge, then you've got to resize it so it is small enough to fit where it should (without hanging off the edge of the page), then you have to move it into place so that the left side of the field is in the right place, and then, if the field size is still off, you have to resize a final time so that the right side of the field aligns with the underlying document.

2. BUG: Date field in Word not converting to PDF correctly.

   I created a date field, called VersionDate, as a Custom Document Property in Word. The field is displayed in the document footer. When I converted the document to PDF, the date changes from July 25, 2017 to July 24, 2017. I tried converting from Word plugin, Acrobat DC, and the Adobe PDF Services website, and each one sets the date back one day, but the Microsoft plugin also changes the format (from July 25, 2017 to 7/24/2017 (especially annoying since Australia does not use the U.S. date format).

   Hi Gabreille,

   If you open your Word document and go to Print Preview mode (Word→Print, select any printer and check the preview), you can see that the date changes to one day back. Adobe Acrobat has not come into picture till this point. It is the custom date field that is behaving incorrectly in Word.

3. Acrobat forms in French - date picker in French, number formatting for French

   I need to create French versions of forms where there is an option to format numbers as 44 534,41 $ rather than $44,534.41

   When adding a date field to a form, I also need a French date picker, so the French users see the calendar in French.

4. Edit text in document that has been deskewed

   Working with a document and need to 1) deskew 2) despeckle and 3) edit text. 1) Optimized with quality set to high, optimize images only if there is a reduction in size set to off, and object compression option set to retain existing; this straightened the document. 2) Used redact set to white fill no border to remove larger specks. 3) chose edit text and the document became skewed again! There is no reason for taking a tool that worked well to clean up scans in previous versions and making it impossible to use. Adobe is costing us more than before and giving far less in return.

5. BUG: Your text box text formating tool covers up document. Please move it OUT OF THE WINDOW. You keep reducing Acrobat's functionality.

   Please stop floating menus over document content. This covers up important information. Your most recent flop: When adding a text box, the font menu covers up the same box and one cannot edit it. Stop this nonsense. Acrobat keeps deteriorating with each "upgrade" since 2005. If you attend a entry level web programming class at a good university, you can learn how to design efficient user interfaces. Tell that your incopmetent manager.

6. Unacceptable Change After Upgrade (Adding Paste Text. Not Image)

   I am in the middle of doing project during the Chinese New Year holiday. After upgrading the software, it got me into this trouble. The "Add Text" by copy and paste from other source like spreadsheet doesn't work anymore as I used to be doing. After paste, it becomes an image instead of text. See attached screenshot for reference. Can you fix it as soon as possible? I really need this that's why I continue paying for the subscription. Your quick response will be highly appreciated.

7. Crash when copying text with format, after pasting in other application

   Acrobat Pro DC (2020.006.20042) on Windows 10 64bit (1909 18363.836)
   ALWAYS crashes, when copying text with formations, after trying to paste the text to another program like Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.

   Some times it paste the text correctly and then crashes, after trying to focus Acrobat. Sometimes it just crash and paste nothing.

   With out formatting, all works.

   This is not only the case for the latest releases. I got this behave for over an year, and with every update it got's more worst.

   Maybe Adobe can move from fail-fast over to an fail-safe/fail-unsafe behave of the CC programs.

8. Left align images in "Digitally Sign" signature

   When using images as part of the "Appearance" of a Digital Signature, the image is scaled and centered which results in odd placement of the signature.

   When there is only an image in the signature it is scaled to fit within the forms signature field/user defined rectangle and then it is centered.
   It should be left justified (Or right depending on the region settings).

   When there is an image with text, the signature is scaled to fit within half of the signature field/user defined rectangle and then it is centered on the left half. The image should take up only as much of the space that is needed on the left side of the signature, left justified, and then the remainder of the space on the right should be allocated to the text, which would be left justified to the image not the center of the signature field.

   See the examples in the attached file.

10. Accessibility Errors with PDF Maker Update Sept 2021

    Several major bugs have been documented by users in the Adobe Community Forums since Acrobat and PDF Maker were updated on September 14, 2021.

    They are:

    1: Alt-Text from MS Word is not converting into the PDF. Instead, it is dropped and gibberish code is inserted. See https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/alt-text-converting-wrong-from-word-to-pdf/m-p/12393017 This violates the PDF/UA-1 standard which requires that every graphic have alt-text that verbally describes the graphic.

    THIS IS A HUGE BUG. You essentially have made Acrobat unusable for those who are required by their country's laws to make fully accessible PDFs.

    2: Every cell border on every table cell is being tagged as:
    <P>PathPathPathPath. This violates PDF/UA-1 because unnecessary visual formatting is not being tagged at Artifacts.

    NOTE: To be correctly tagged per PDF/UA-1, the borders/shading content should:
    — Not appear anywhere in the Tag tree, either as <Figure> or as "Path" in a yellow content container box.
    — Not appear in the Order panel.
    — Should appear as Artifact in the Content panel.

    6: Dragging and dropping elements in both the Tag and Order panels is now broken.

    The text cursor doesn't show anymore, and the little black line doesn't show anymore and instead appears several inches away from where it really is.     So once the update is completed, it makes PDF Maker completely unusable for tagged accessible PDFs.

    This affects millions of your government customers world wide, as well as millions of government contractors and millions of academic customers...all of whom are required by their country's laws to make accessible PDFs.

    2 sets of sample Word and Matching PDF files are submitted as demonstrations of the problems in the exported PDFs via PDF Maker.

    Would like to mention that out of these, #1 and #6 were introduced with the Sep 14 update and remaining (#2, #3, #4 & #5) were present even in the Acrobat version prior to Sep 14 update. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by these issues.

    Issue #1 and #6 were the regressions introduced with Sept 14th update and hence were fixed on priority with Sept 29th Update (Release Notes for September 29, 2021). With the latest version (22.001.20085) of Acrobat Pro DC released on March 7th (Release Notes for March 07, 2022), issues #2 and #3 have also been fixed. Issues #4 and #5 have been partially fixed so that PathPathPath tags won’t be part of the tag tree anymore. The remaining issue for #4 and # 5 (Borders and background shadings on Text Boxes / paragraphs are being tagged as <Figure>s) have already been added to our product backlog and those will be prioritized to be fixed in coming releases.

    You can use the menu item Help → Check for Updates… to get the latest version of Acrobat Pro DC containing these fixes. Please try out the fixes and share the feedback as that will help us make our applications better from accessibility perspective.

11. BUG - acrobat does not allow blank option in dropdown and request signatures

    Sometimes 'Blank' IS the right value for a dropdown list. I do not understand why a user cannot request a signature when the form has been designed with an option in a dropdown field that has a blank value. This error occurs even if the user has selected a value other than 'blank'.

14. Remove the relation between bookmarks text color and page color.

    Currently there is no support for dark mode on reader, To simulate dark mode like experience we have to change settings in Preferences -> Accessibility -> Replace Document Colors. If we select the 'Replace Document Colors' option and in that we select 'Use High-Contrast Colors' and check the 'Change the color of line art as well as text', the bookmarks text color also switches to dark making it unreadable.

16. Scan and OCR error, after scanning text and image disappear

    When I ran a scan and ocr on my document, almost all the pages were blank after the scanning. before scanning the text and images were still visible.

17. Option to disable "helper" popups

    The blue popup boxes that come up when opening/editing PDFs may be helpful for new users, but for experienced users they are everything from useless through condescending and all the way into genuinely in the way of working. I for one don't need to have the 'Add Text' button pointed out for me when I am editing a PDF, or a box come up and say "This looks like a form". I know what I'm working on, and the popups are as unwelcome and unhelpful as Clippy.

    All we need is a little checkbox on the blue boxes saying "Do not show tips" or an entry in settings to make them go away.

18. Allow resizing of side panel (tab order, etc.)

    Please allow resizing/expansion of the side panel used for formatting and tab order, etc. There is a horizontal scroll bar on the bottom, but if you have longer field names, it is inconvenient to have to scroll back and forth. For those with wider monitors, this should be expandable horizontally or a pop-out window that is expandable.

19. Need Better Text Editor on Acrobat Uservoice

    This box I'm typing in has no expansion triangle in the bottom right corner. Although it scrolls, the limited dimensions may be OK for ideas but are a hindrance for bug reporting. The entry space in the Acrobat Support Forums allows all the room one needs and allows the posting of images and video of anomalies. Yet the last couple of times I've reported a bug in Support, I've been redirected to re-report everything here and provide the Uservoice URL. If this is going to be a bug-reporting space as well as an "idea" space, it needs a full-featured editor.
