1. AI is severely incompetent

   I can’t believe Adobe is calling this AI. It’s not. Glorified chatbot? Maybe. It answers questions fairly well. But it can’t actually DO anything. Example? Because my business has factories in 5 states. I must file state tax returns in each of them. I get a PDF containing the federal form and each state form. The file includes a table of contents that clearly marks the start of each form. I asked the AI to break it into five separate files. It couldn’t do it. Extracting multiple PDFs is something I do a lot. But an AI specifically created for Adobe Acrobat is incapable of it. If I were Adobe, I’d be ashamed to release this and call it AI. It’s disappointed me like this several times; the tax forms are just the latest. The problem with Adobe is arrogance. They know they have people who depend on PDFs by the short hairs, and they exploit that dependency with a lackadaisical approach to customers.

2. Disable or Full control of background process and windows services

   If I'm not using Adobe, I do not want any process in the background. You can check for updates when I start using it, start cloud sync when I start using it, and check for a license when I start the apps.

   I should be able to turn off all backoround processes

3. No AI, Add Favorite Tools Option

   The Home menu is terrible, and continues to get more and more cluttered with every update.

   First, why does my "Recommended tools for you" list, default to AI every time I open this app, and I have to click an arrow to the next page with the actual tools. I am so sick of companies shoving "time saving" AI down my throat that actually just ends up wasting my time.

   Second, I would love to be able to set favorite tools, rather than these recommendations. They are truly terrible. What are they basing this suggestions on? I have never even used "Request e-signatures" tool and it's the first one to appear on this list. But it's also right next to this recommended list, in it's own box under "Get documents signed fast". So why is it even an option to appear under the recommendations?

   The fact that it's faster and less frustrating to just to click on the "See all tools" option to find the one I need, means that you are doing a bad job at UI.

   make it simple, you have garbage and its a pain to edit. I want to change my menu, stop selling stuff on my window. I cannot even delete a simple blank line.

5. please stop adding features! Every time I launch acrobat to review a pdf, it has a HUGE pause as you load some crazy ai and whats new stuff.

   Stop adding stuff! We don't need it! Your latest version absolutely just freezes for 30 seconds or more on a 14900 core i9 desktop!! I sit there and wait for it to load "Whats New" and AI info bar at top. It's driving me crazy!!!

   Just stop! Call it done. No reason to add more. please!

6. Remove the EULAS and actually sell the product again like you use too

   Stop this being greedy and remove EULAs. You use to sell a product but now you just siphon every penny you can out of people with this subscription service. The free version is so watered down and full of bloatware its horrible to use. We don't want this AI assistant and we don't want subscription based services. Adobe use to be a great company but your greed has turned you into a joke. I will never use another adobe product again. Good Day

7. "Highlight Current Bookmark" doesn't work

   The "Highlight Current Bookmark" option doesn't work. It is very useful when it works, so it should be fixed.
   Issue:
   I have the "Highlight Current Bookmark" option enabled, and working bookmarks in my document. If scroll to a certain part of the document, or jump to it by navigating search results, no bookmark is highlighted. If I then enable "Expand Current Bookmark", the corresponding bookmark is expanded, and the highlighted boomark becomes visible. But then when I scroll further, the highlighting doesn't change, and I need to click "Expand Current Bookmark" again to update the highlighting, even if I am within the same chapter and the bookmark is already expanded. As you can see in the attached screenshot, even though I have "Highlight current bookmark" enabled, none of the bookmarks are highlighted.
   Expectation:
   If I have "Highlight Current Bookmark" enabled and "Expand Current Bookmark" disabled, the current chapter is automatically highlighted as I am navigating through the document (regardless of navigation method). If I have both "Highlight Current Bookmark" and "Expand Current Bookmark" enabled, the chapter I am currently viewing is automatically expanded in the bookmark bar, and the lowest-level bookmark is highlighted.
   Use case:
   When I am scrolling through the document or jumping from search hit to search hit, I always want to see which chapter/section I am in the document, as it is very important for understanding the context.

9. Saving filenames error

   On Mac Neo using latest version of Mac OS and Adobe DC when saving a file and typing in a new file name if you have a period symbol (.) in the file name pressing the space bar at any time after that causes the filename box to clear out.

10. 2026 Update: Adobe, every iteration of Acrobat gets worse and worse

    Offer two user interfaces for Adobe subscribers. One can be a simple interface for opening files, saving files, finding and using tools, all the important things for people who don't need all the ****.

    The second user interface can be the crapware that has more garbage on it than functional features.

    Who needs 60 Acrobat templates? That's what Word is for. The AI must be powered by Meta because its results are somewhere between illiterate, inaccurate or sixth grade.

    I know, it's so important before the bubble explodes to have AI on everything from toilet paper to Acrobat's interface. But what percent of you paying users use it?

    It's near impossible to open a file, even when it's on the home page recent list. First you have to check the box, then all that does is open a description of the file. ForGod's sake, do you think Acrobat users are so stupid that we can't figure out what's in a recent file from its name? Obviously the UX team does feel that way.

    Bring back an option to use the Legacy function interface so users have a choice between functionality and crapware.

11. Stop asking to make Acrobat the default PDF program

    I said "No" I don't want Acrobat to be my default app for PDF files. Acrobat DC asks me again every time I start the program. That is intrusive and abusive, there is already a button on the start screen for that. Let me choose not to be asked again. I know how to do it through Acrobat (it's in plain sight already) or through the operating system settings.

12. BUG - Ruler not correct on external monitor & Weird lines in the ruler

    I have three screens in my computer set up, and I have never had a problem with the scale of the rulers, but now the documents ruler are off on some of the screens. The ruler is really important to making sure my document is printable, and it's really hard when the ruler isn't working.

    Examples:
    Document 1 is 8.75x11.5, on my laptop screen the ruler reads correctly, but if I move it to another screen it shows 8x7. The document properties always read the correct size.

    Document 2 is 8.5x11. The ruler reads correctly when it's open on my external monitors, but reads incorrectly on the laptop (10.5x13.75*)

    I have opened multiple documents and on some the ruler reads correctly on the laptop, and on others the external, but none of them read correctly on both.

    • An ADDITIONAL ruler bug is that weird lines are showing up in my ruler as I scroll across the screen (without clicking on anything). Shortly, you can't even see the ruler. Which is WORSE than the ruler being wrong (who cares if it's wrong if I can't even see it).

    I have a huge project I'm working on and it is taking me FOREVER because of the ruler glitches. It's super frustrating and would love if this could be corrected ASAP.

    I have tried unloading and redownloading the app, and using different computers. Same issue on each one.

13. Allow to disable translation banner popup

    Did you know that some people can read and write in more than one language ? Stop asking me if I want pages translated because they're not in English. There's no option to turn off that annoying pop-up that I have to close every single time I open a non English document.

14. App is terrible lately

    This app has been terrible for the last few months. It's either slow at pulling up doc's, or 'not responding'. Even after tech support did a remote in session. I rely on this app for work. It has become almost unbearable to use. Not sure if this will fall on deaf ears, but we need to fix it. It's extremely annoying & VERY time consuming. I have a very fast paced job. Adobe has always been awesome. Never had issues like this. SOS.

15. ZoomText force scrolls to top of PDF

    We have three users all experiencing the same issues in Acrobat Pro. When opening a multi-page PDF, the PDF forcefully returns to page one. We have tried numerous settings in Acrobat and ZoomText:
    Method 1: Change reading settings in Adobe Reader app
    1. Open Adobe Reader and either click Edit > Preferences or use the hotkey CONTROL+K.
    2. Click Reading in the category list.
    3. On the right hand side of the dialogue look for 'Page vs. document' drop down and set this to 'Read entire document'
    4. Then click 'OK' button or press ENTER to dismiss the dialogue.
    5. Then close and restart Adobe Reader to check if the fault is resolved.

    Method 2: Remove/Reinstall Adobe PDF support module.
    1. Open Windows Explorer and click on and paste the following into the address bar: C:\Program Files\Freedom Scientific\ZoomText\2022
    • Note: Please adjust the year/version in the above example to accommodate the version of ZoomText installed if it is not 2022.
    2. Then run AhoiUtil.exe in that folder.
    3. Then highlight the PDFSupport module ahpdfSupport and click Remove button.
    4. Then click Add Module button and select ahpdfSupport to reinstall the module.

    • ZoomText 2026
    o ZoomText menu, Preferences > Advanced > Display Adapter - try Magnification API setting
    • ZoomText 2025
    o ZoomText menu, Help > Advanced > Display Adapter - try Magnification API setting
    • Acrobat, Edit, Preferences (Ctrl + K),
    o Accessibility
    • Set page layout style to Single Page Continuous
    o Multimedia & 3d,
    • Ensure Preferred Render is Software
    • Disable Enable hardware rendering for legacy video cards
    o Reading
    • Change Page vs Document to Read the entire document

    The issue persists, even after reinstalls etc.

16. Adding Text content in PDF is soooo slow.

    First of all, using the Text tool is extremely slow. You click it one place, it shows up somewhere else, and then there is a 3 second delay whenever you type something. Horrendous.
    Second, if I'm create a drawing or markup that includes both lines and text, they aren't all selectable in the same mode. Text is only selectable when "Edit" is on, while lines aren't selectable in that mode. So i can't move or copy that drawing any where unless I do them separately .

17. Encrypted pdf , Password glitching

    I got tax return statement from my accountant and opened it in Adobe acrobat, but now it keeps glitching and asking for the password multiple times. I already put in the password before the tab opened and now with the document open it asks for password but then nothing happens in the text box when I type!
    If I try to type without seeing the password in the text box, the app freezes.

    other solution, failed on receivers end: Opened doc within email app on iphone to sign documents -> but then receiver couldn't open signed form

19. NO MEANS NO

    When a popup asks me if I want to make Acrobat the default app for viewing PDFs, and I say "NO," I do not want to see that popup 100 more times, every time I open the app or log back in. NO MEANS NO. You even have a check box in the popup that says "Do not show this message again," and I have checked it. IT DOESN'T WORK. Please fix this, it is very annoying. Thank you.

20. Accessibility error If there's a hyperlink in the footer of a PDF (converted from word)

    The Adobe help documentation does not cover an link annotation accessibility error If there's a hyperlink in the footer of a PDF (converted from word), as it happens because the link in the footer turns problematic annotation during PDF conversion rather than a normal body link.

    Most common reasons i found were:

    The footer is being treated as an artifact or decorative repeated content
    If the footer is artifacted or tagged incorrectly in the PDF, Acrobat may flag the hyperlink because the link annotation exists but is not properly associated with the content.

    Word sometimes exports footer text infragments, especially if different formatting is applied within the same footer. That can cause tagging errors or reading order issues.

    A footer link may show up as a link visually, but the annotation is not nested properly under a Link tag in the tag tree.

    Repeated links in headers and footers can create a large number of identical annotations. If even one converts badly, Acrobat may report an error.

    The PDF was created in a way that strips or weakens accessibility structure
    If someone used Printto PDF instead of Save As PDF or Export to PDF, links and tags often break.
