Hide "comment list"
How do you hide the 'comment list"? It pops up every time I try to make something and it doesn't automatically adjust the document and takes up so much of the screen. Very annoying.
3 votesPlease click on the small inward arrow near the comment list to collapse it.

Hide the new black box when a comment is selected
The new black box (when a comment is selected) gets in the way and obscures the page contents. Add the option in Preferences to turn it off or hide it.

Ability to rename a scanned document while in Preview Pane
I would love the ability to rename my scanned documents while viewing them in Preview Pane in my Explorer folders. I currently need to preview them, remember detailed information, close that view, then rename the document -- hoping I remembered my information correctly. It would save a TON of time and make us more efficient. Thanks!

comment pane color indication sync'd with color of comment in the pages (lines, circles, highlights, etc.)
In previous versions of Acrobat, in the Comments pane, there was an visual indicator of the color of the comments (comment bubble, lines, circles, highlights, etc.). But in Acrobat DC all the comments look the same. The color changes based on the AUTHOR NAME, which I suppose might be useful for some people, but not for me. The color of the comments in the comments pane needs to reflect the color of the actual comment, as it did in previous versions.

Quick Tools overflow menu
Some tools are not usable when accessed from the overflow ("meatballs") menu of the Quick Tools toolbar. Tools such as Change color, Change line thickness, and Text Properties are not usable if they are in the overflow menu (because the window size is too small to fit all the Quick Tools).

Hide the left side tool bar
I DESPERATELY want a user preference that inhibits automatically opening the left side toolbar. I've seen a couple of other comments on the same topic where an Adobe engineer claims that F8 turns off the menu. News Flash: F8 does nothing in my Acrobat Reader AND I ALWAYS want the left-side tools menu hidden, unless summoned. I<b> READ</b> PDFs with Acrobat <b>Reader</b>, I don't need or want to see editing tools. So far (after YEARS of use) I haven't needed to redact, highlight, or annotate (comment), but I can see those capabilities as being potentially valuable when needed, though…

Tools bar shows up no matter what I do!
The annoying Tools Bar shows up no matter what I do. I have gone in and checked unchecked, checked again. But every single document opens with the useless Tools Bar!
Also, when Acrobat upgraded why did all my settings vanish?? I have to set it up the way I like it all over again!11 votes -
placement of tools thru the "Customize Quick Tools..." menu
placement of tools thru the "Customize Quick Tools..." menu is too restrictive. Why force "Save as" to reside so far from "Save"?
1 voteHi,
Thanks for Reaching out to us for your concerns.
The default Save icon is not added from the Quick Tools list though it is visible from the “Show File Tools” and the SaveAs tool is added from the customized tools and thus they appear in separate sections. Thanks

Make it possible to hide and remove Generative AI button.
Despite having disabled generative AI in the preferences, it is still not possible to remove or hide the generative AI button. It does not help that I am trying to use Acrobat for academic purposes, for which generative AI is against academic integrity.

New 'Hide' function vs. 'Delete' function
Adobe changed the existing 'Delete' function to 'Hide' function. I just ran into this as I was trying to delete a draft. Speaking to a adobe rep. you have to hide the document now, which still deletes the version if it was a draft. Hiding means you should still be able to retrieve the document you hid away, which is not how this works. Please bring back the delete button as that makes it easier to understand that you are actually deleting a document you no longer need. Hide is misinterpreted as "I am still able to un…

Give ability to move navigation pane to top or bottom
I use dual portrait monitors to look at 2 PDFs at the same time (usually a copy of a tax return on one screen and source documents on the other). The bookmarks are very important to me, but when the bookmark pane is on the left, it makes the PDF itself too small and defeats the purpose of using portrait monitors. However, if I could put the navigation pane at the top (below the tool bar) and display the bookmarks at the top of my screen, that would be very helpful. I looked all over but couldn't find this as…

Make text boxes, callout boxes, drawing tools not sticky
All out comments are done with text boxes, text callout boxes, lines and arrows (as opposed to the sticky-note style comment). When we select any of those tools, they stay selected, i.e. when I draw a callout box and type, then click off of it, all I do is create yet another callout box. I have to click the arrow at the top of that pane to deselect it, then click AGAIN to manually move or resize my box. Previous Adobe version, did not "stick" when I selected a text box or callout box or an arrow or line…

“Show comments pane when a PDF with comments is opened” function doesn't work
This problem was confirmed in Acrobat Pro 2024.001.20604 64-bit for Windows 10 Pro (22H2).
I found a bug that the comment pane is not displayed automatically even with the following settings.
Preferences > Commenting > “Show comments pane when a PDF with comments is opened” is checked
The conditions under which this fault occurs are:
For PDF files with comments on page 51 or laterHowever, if a PDF has at least one comment before page 50, the comments pane is automatically displayed.

Use the Drawing Tools to highlight objects
I would like the addition of a checkmark within the drawings tool. I find the new highlighter blob tool kind of clunky, and I'd much prefer to use the drawing markup tools when I need to highlight objects. But right now, with the drawing markup tool I have to reduce the opacity, in order to get the object below to show through. I'd like the Drawing Markup Tools to actually be able to highlight the objects, using the highlight blending mode as the Highlighter tool does.
Please add a checkmark at the top of the color picker that for "Highlight"

Change for the sake of change
Swapping the bookmarks pane and the tools pane is a stupid idea with no benefit for your users. Please go back to the old interface. If I have to use a new one I might as well just view documents in the browser and stop using Acrobat.
