Hide Tools Pane
Provide ability to hide the Tools Pane to increase the field of content.
I review and markup engineering drawings and other documents. Some of these are quite large. I need the maximum amount of content in the window. As long as I can access the comment menu in the tool bar above, I have what I need.37 votes -
hide tools pane
It's so annoying to have to close the All Tools and Bookmarks panes every time I open a document. None of the settings seem to work. Why isn't there a default option to hide these panes?

Cannot Hide Tools Pane in Pro DC
I cannot permanently close the tool pane. There is no "Open Tools Pane for Each Document" option to turn off in Edit >> Preferences >> Documents. When I manually close the tool pane with a document open, close the document and reopen it, the tool pane doesn't "stick" closed. It's open again. I am rarely, if ever, going to use anything in the tool pane. It's large and annoying. I don't want to see it every time I open a document. How do I get the tool pane to go away without having to manually close it with…

HIDE THE 'All tools' PANE!
With the latest version of Adobe Acrobat the setting that previously worked to disable the Tools Pane on startup no longer works. This was obviously not added to regression testing procedures. I could not even take a screenshot of the Adobe Acrobat Reader version AS IT DISAPPEARS THE MOMENT I SELECT THE Microsoft Snipping tool!!! So ... via my smartphone camera, it's Continuous Release | Version 2023.003.20284 | 64-bit. I am using Windows 10 with latest updates.

show/hide tool pane via quick tools or pull down menu
Please let users create a quick tool that allows to show/hide the tool pane. Alternatively, let users open the tooI pane as a pull down menu. Basically, I am only asking to get back what we had in previous versions of Acrobat Pro where tools would open as a pull down menu. It would be nice to show/hide the tool pane without mental effort, without scratching the head about memorized keyboard shortcuts (I understand that I can do so via SHIFT+F4 but then users have a lot of keyboard shortcuts to remember across a lot of software …

Permanently hide Navigation Pane
Adobe, please give users the option to permanently hide the Navigation Pane. I have to click the arrow on every single doc I open in order to hide it! Give me a simple option to disable that stupid pane. Do a google search on this and you'll find countless users asking for the same thing...since the last 5 years. Fix it already!

Hate the left Tools Pane
Don't like the left Tools Pane, and the new updates unable to permanently closed. This setting is not working as well > Menu > Preference > Documents > Remember the current state of tools pane. It makes my document screen smaller when I minimize Adobe and I always have to click close button for the tools pane, waste of time. 1 star for the updates.

Disable "Tools Pane" & "Task Pane" on right by default & give option to enable/disable
Please turn off the annoying 'Tools Pane' & 'Task Pane,' on the right-side of the screen by default. In addition, it would be very much appreciated, if the user was given ONE, easy step/setting to enable/disable them. While I can go up to View -> Show/Hide and uncheck the Tools Pane, it only hides part of the annoying panes on the right since it's little annoying sidekick the "Task Pane" remains open. I have to hit the little arrow to hide that as well, but even then it still doesn't collapse 100%…

"Remember State of Tools Pane" never works
The "Remember Current State of Tools Pane" option under Preferences...Documents never actually remembers anything. I close the annoyingly huge tools pane every single time I open a PDF, and every single time it comes back again.
You forced me to "upgrade" to this version of Acrobat Reader, and it drives me insane. There was a reason I installed the old reader with the simple interface that worked.
win10 home 22H2, reader version 2023.001.20174, but I'm pretty sure this has been a problem for as many versions as I can remember.26 votes -

HIDE BOOKMARKS PANE PERMANENTLY!
Please make an option in the preferences to be able to hide the Bookmarks pane permanently for all files that open in Adobe. It is not user friendly for that pane to open and having to close it for every single document I open. When I Googled a fix for this issue I've seen MANY complaints about this issue, some going back to 2022! This feature of the pane opening every single time when not needed, honestly makes me hate having to use Adobe.
Please fix this ASAP!!! Thank you!!

Make "All Tools" pane width adjustable!
The width of the "All Tools" pane is for some reason fixed and cannot be adjusted left or right - i.e. made wider or narrower which is relly annoying when you have two acrobat windows open side-by-side on a split screen. The large width of the "All Tools" pane just eats up most of the screen. Please make "All Tools" pane width adustable.

Acrobat Pro add Remember current state of Tools pane back to settings
I have Acrobat Pro and used to have the setting "Remember current state of Tools pane" checked so the tool pane wouldn't open for every pdf I open. This setting went away a few months ago and it's really annoying to have to close the tools pane every time I open a document.
I rarely need in the tools pane and would prefer it to be hidden most of the time.

Remove "check out new e-sign tools" from all tools pane and show ALL tools
I want to see ALL of the tools in the tools pane. It's called the ALL tools pane but doesn't actually show you ALL of the tools. ?? It randomly truncates the list and shows a "view more" option; and the bottom of the pane is needlessly wasted with prompts to use other tools like "Check out new e-sign tools." I don't want or need to see any of that - just want the tools; but there's no way to turn off the waste of real estate at the bottom of the pane.

"Remember the current state of Tools Pane" feature broken
The feature in Menu -> Preferences -> Documents -> "Remember the current state of Tools Pane" is broken since the last update. Users wanting only the "Adobe Acrobat Reader" functionality simply do not need the "All tools" pane! Closing it repeatedly manually significantly deteriorates our productivity. I am on version 2023.003.20284 64-bit using Windows 10. How come such features were not included in your Regression Testing?
