  1. When using Microsoft Word & PDFMaker:

Circular gradients do not have the expected gradient pattern. They have a STAR shaped gradient pattern.

This star shaped gradient pattern is more apparent as the shape that has a gradient fill becomes SMALLER.

Also, Acrobat stores these shapes and fills as a Bitmap image representation, so they are not Vector objects as expected, so they do not regenerate with scaleing.
Other PDF software, e.g. FoxIt PDF Editor, does not have this gradient pattern problem. Also it stores the shapes and gradients correctly as a Vector object.

[Note: Other unexpected patterns, may occur with…

  2. In Microsoft Word (2016).

When Acrobat -> Preferences menu (ribbon bar) item is selected for the FIRST time since Word starts, the dialog window for PDFMaker does not display the SETTINGS tab.

    2nd+ time it does.

  4. I am trying to copy both Thai text and Burmese text from a Pdf document. But these are not recognized languages in this Adobe program so it tries to copy them as English and makes a mess of them. Why can't the text be copied over as it appears in the original document? Then, I could use Google translate to change that into English. There is no need for Adobe to recognize the language being copied, just copy it exactly as it is in the original document.

  5. I'm trying to create a fillable-form for a prescription that will create a password-protected file on save (for at least the illusion of security) and I've been unable to do it for days now:

Whenever I tried to create a security policy, no matter what combination of options I chose... I'd get to the review step, click finish and the whole security policies option window would close completely.

Eventually I decided to try not including a password, and it saved fine and took me back to the list of security policies, where I could now see my new entry.

    This…

  6. Unfortunately, I cannot change the thickness of my added underlined or strike-through. The symbol for different thickness in the toolbar is greyed out.
I also would appreciate two different symbols for underlining; one for straight lines, the other for squiggly lines.
I used FoxitReader before and must say that the way to place comments seems to me better solved there. Maybe something similar could be added in Adobe Acrobat Reader?

  7. Tool buttons should also collapse the Tools Pane not just expand it. Thus, you can eliminate the "Close" button. It's more intuitive to expand and collapse from the same button. This behavior already happens with the Navigation Pane buttons.

  8. Provide a means to disable the 'helpful' hints about using features, such as the blue box that pops up over tools, sending documents for signature. I am a long-time user and I know them all.

  9. My team is trying to remediate a lengthy PDF (200+ pages). In attempting to use the standard accessibility tools in PDF, we've been unable to add certain headers and all jump-to links to the reading order. For the jump-to links (appear as navigation buttons on every page to the user), they register in the correct tab order, but not reading order. We're unable to gain 508 compliance status without these items fixed. When we try to add the reading order number doesn't stay or, more often, Adobe Acrobat completely shuts down. We've tried working on it in InDesign, but nothing…

  10. For European users, a units selector is needed for the Object Inspector in the Output Preview panel so dpi can be checked. Otherwise, you have to go to Preferences, switch from Millimetres to Inches, then switch back to Millimetres again.

  11. Date field not working in Polish Acrobat Reader DC, Acrobat Pro 2020, Acrobat Pro DC and probably many others similar to those mentioned here. Calendar does not pop up after clicking on date field when Polish UI is set. When user interface language is set to English date field works properly. Even months names and week days names are translated in Polish.

  12. Hello,

I fill out a TON of documents as a freelancer and this software just is missing some simple things that would make my life so much easier. Can we please just get a drag and drop fill option for todays date under that tab next to the signature? This would save me so much hassle alone.

Anyways, PLEASE PLEASE make this easier for people who are filling out documents as well as creating them. I feel like there are so many tools to create documents but none for the people filling them out.

  14. Good afternoon. I need to create hundreds of 1 page certificates. In MS Word I use the Mail Merge to include the participants names and signature. I convert all of them into a pdf file. With Adobe Acrobat Pro, I bookmark every certificate with the participants name. Before the name, I need to write "Certificate" so the name of each pdf would be for example "Certificate Joe Doe". I do this manually in the bookmark part. Then, in the Organize Pages part, I split them by Top Level Bookmarks. In Output Options, I wish there would be an…

  15. Starring PDFs is great but, you usually star PDFs that you use ALL the time and that you want to have displayed at the top of the Home tab. But what if you don't want to have them displayed up at the top but you want to have them in a place where the rest of the similar PDFs are, that's where a very useful feature called "Labeling" that would be great to have in Acrobat comes into play. It would be the ability to make custom labels (e.g. School or Work, or ProjectX) for PDFs so you could have…

  16. When accessing Adobe Document Cloud via the Adobe Acrobat Pro desktop version, the application is using Google Chrome (80.x) agent internally.
The current version of chrome is 92.x.

Our company does not allow chrome versions below 82.x as this is insecure and has many vulnerabilities rendering the desktop version useless for us. Will adobe look to update this in the future?

  17. There seems to be a bug in Acrobat Pro DC. Since I switched to a MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020), the page transitions in Acrobat do not work. I only have an ugly cut from one page to the next. Please advise.
    Thanks
