  1. Customer sent in a business card as a pdf file. I open the file in Adobe Acrobat 10 is shows the complete card with colored background. I open the same file in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and the coloured background is no longer there and will not print as part of the card. If i open the said file in Illustrator and resave it as a pdf, it appears on Acrobat DC. This situation has occurred 3 or 4 times since getting DC approx. 1 month ago. Not very confident in Adobe DC printing what is in file.

  2. Acrobat Pro DC 2017, Mac running Sierra 10.12.6. Starting with three single-page PDFs created out of Illustrator. Create>Combine files into single PDF, Add open files creates a single page file of the second file added, ignoring the additional two files. If I do not have the files open and use Create>Combine files and navigate to the files in the Finder, nothing happens at all. No error messages, no crash. As always, these commands work fine in Acrobat Pro XI.

  3. In Adobe Acrobat DC Comments, the Lock icon adds unnecessary space to the already inefficient spacing (even without the lock, for some reason a lot of extra spacing was added). Is there a way to compress the spacing and/or remove the lock icon, which was never shown in previous versions of Acrobat? If not, the result of our company switching to acrobat DC is a reduction in productivity.

  5. Before upgrading Adobe Acrobat XI Pro I had a scroll bar on the right side of the File (Adobe old.jpg) screen. After update it disappears (Adobe file new.jpg) or is in the form (Adobe new1.jpg).

  6. I created a date field, called VersionDate, as a Custom Document Property in Word. The field is displayed in the document footer. When I converted the document to PDF, the date changes from July 25, 2017 to July 24, 2017. I tried converting from Word plugin, Acrobat DC, and the Adobe PDF Services website, and each one sets the date back one day, but the Microsoft plugin also changes the format (from July 25, 2017 to 7/24/2017 (especially annoying since Australia does not use the U.S. date format).

    Hi Gabreille,

    If you open your Word document and go to Print Preview mode (Word→Print, select any printer and check the preview), you can see that the date changes to one day back. Adobe Acrobat has not come into picture till this point. It is the custom date field that is behaving incorrectly in Word.

  8. I received this file thorough email and I can't open it in my MacBook, but it opens in other computers.
    This happens daily with many other PDF's I receive.

  9. Our county's superior court system requires that we e-file all documents into the court; upon filing a document with the system ("LINX"), LINX timestamps it.

    This doesn't work with a certified e-signed document, because Adobe locks the document from future editing. If I try to e-file a certified copy, LINX immediately rejects the file, because of course LINX can't timestamp it.

    I'm forced to print out the file, physically scan it again, and e-file the document that I had e-signed in the first place! Am I missing a checkbox somewhere that I can check, to force Adobe to allow editing…

    Thanks for writing to us.

    From what I understand, you require your PDF to be digitally signed again, after you have shared it after certifying and digitally signing by your signature? Can you please try these steps and see if this is what you require:

    1. Open PDF in Acrobat DC. From Tools→ select ‘Prepare form’ app and click Start. Add (at least) 2 signature fields from top toolbar and save the document
    2. Right click on the first signature field and select ‘Certify with visible signature’. In the Certify Document dialog that comes up, under ‘Permitted Actions After Certifying’, select ‘Form fill-in and digital signatures’
    3. Now sign the document by adding your signature
    4. Send the document to LINX now

  11. I need a way to create a PDF using an automated process that does not cause a popup window to appear. If there were a way to set the file location and file name without the dialogue box it would be very valuable to us.

    There is an application called Bullzip that provides this functionality and charges a great deal of money to provide it.

  12. I'm trying to delete pages from a multi page document in Docman (PCTi Solutions) with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. I am not getting the delete option unless I check the full document out onto my desktop, edit it there, drop it back into Docman and delete the original. I want to amend the original not delete it. What an I missing??

  13. I can't see/figure out how to add the "sign pdf" icon into the main toolbar. Frustrating to click 3-4 times to just get that "tool" to show up.

  14. I have changed my name a few months ago. When my account was created I went by a different name. I have updated my account to show my new name. It seems like every .pdf I open shows a different name. Sometimes it shows my old name and sometimes my new name. I have tried signing completely out and back in, same issue. It happens randomly. Steps to re-produce the issue is to just open a .pdf file. Environment - Windows 10, domain joined computer.

  15. I suppose this is a new idea, because it's not really a bug. Here's the summation of my problem/idea:

    I scan files to my email using our copy machine/scanner. I then open and combine these files into single binders using AA Pro DC. To do this, I use the "Create PDF" tool from the tools menu, and then, from the "Create a PDF from any format" menu that appears, I select the "Multiple Files" and "Combine Files" option. When I click on the "NEXT" box, I can then choose to "Add Open Files," which is the option I use most…

    Dear User,

    You can create a new policy template from Protect—Encrypt—Manage Security Policies—New (create the new security settings that you want to apply) and save it as a template.
    You will still need to open the files individually and apply the template on each file. But this would be an easier way around.

  18. If you have the "new" DC Reader...get rid of it.
    it's slow.
    it's choppy.
    The phrase "Not Responding" shows up more than a taxi in New York City.
    This has got to be the crappiest Adobe product I've ever had the displeasure of working with.
    I've told my company's IT department to start looking for something else.
    Acrobat Reader DC is pure American ****.

    I suggest you update your Reader to the latest version and if you still face any issues please elaborated them and allow us to help you.

  19. With version "8" I was able to drag and drop pages from one window to another. Very useful when making changes to large documents. Reprint one corrected page as a single PDF page then drag and drop it into the final document, then delete to old page. I will miss being able to use this technique. It was fast and direct.

  20. Pretty self-explanatory. I work with a huge amount of documents and find myself selecting the 100% zoom a lot, which makes it easy to read the document. A quick button to allow this view would make life much easier.
