Acrobat DC - Can't paste content into alt text or document properties fields
After the most recent Acrobat DC update, we suddenly could not paste any text into the alt text field or the title, subject, author, and keyword fields in document properties. The cursor was there, but nothing appeared when we tried to paste. This happened when copying from any application (Word, PowerPoint, even from within the PDF itself). Oddly, we could paste into the body of the PDF, just not the alt text and document property fields. Ultimately we had to uninstall and reinstall, which seemed to fix the problem. But we have no idea what caused this malfunction…

Bad UI / bug: floating comments box text hidden with useless whitespace
The old version of Acrobat (Pro X) allowed users to put comments on various items in the document, such as highlighted text, etc. and move those boxes around on the document and change their size.
Now, Acrobat (Pro 2019 and onward) obscures that comment box with a reply field and totally wasted blank space beneath it (see attached). A user shouldn't have to click on a comment box to see the text that's there. This is yet another example of HORRID user interface changes. While reply-type commenting is a useful feature, destroying the original comment box's functionality for those…

Redact overlay text does not persist
Redact overlay text does not persist when de-selecting overlay text option. As a user, I need to selectively replace text/other elements in the document with overlay text while also being able to selectively replace text/other elements in the document with a solid shape/box.
Additionally, as a user, I need to escape Acrobat's suggestion to redact text when Acrobat believes text to be present in the redaction area, as sometimes, there is no text in the redaction area, as Acrobat believes.
Redaction preferences should persist across program sessions or at least be possible to save.

Make Form Conversions easier .
Make Form Conversions more intuitive and accurate. The cursor still jumps around and seldom allows me to position it where I want to type.
1 voteThank you for your suggestion. We shall need more information on how does the “cursor jump around” and what workflow of “Form Conversions” are you using.
Is it converting MSWord to Acroform or via scanning.?
Please share more details-Bhavna

Possible Bug
When creating a text field, under the General tab, where the Form Field is set to "Visible", if under the Format tab you enter the following custom script (for example):
var message = 'Title'
if (event.value == '') {
event.target.display = display.noPrint
event.value = message
} else {
event.target.display = display.visible
}Saving the PDF apparently corrupts the file in some way where when you attempt to re-open it, it causes Acrobat to crash and the pdf is unrecoverable. When the Form Field is set to "Visible but doesn't print" no error occurs.

PDF
Suggestion:
Give text fields optional labels.
1.) Only small, medium, or large font size.
2.) Placement of left, right, above or below text field.
3.) Character limit of 25 (or something small).
The most common work-around option is using read-only text fields, however that gets messing when viewing the form in "prepare form" mode.
Keep it simple if necessary, but simpler label options for text fields are wanted.1 vote -

Bug Report: Alt Text for Links does not read out in Read Out Loud
New Acrobat Object Properties dialog has a Text Box for "Alternate Description for Links" which does not seem to work when using the Read Out Loud feature.
InDesign now exports Link Alt Text to the /Contents property under the "Tag Element > /K > [0] > /Obj" hierarchy. This "contents" tag does not seem to be recognized by Read Out Loud.
Shouldn't Alt Text go into the /Alt field in the Tag Element top level?

Auto resize bounding box to contents for Callout and Text Box comments
When marking up PDFs, some clients want text to be immediately visible "on the page," i.e., in Callouts and Text Boxes vs. added with the less easy to see Insert Text at Cursor or Replace Text functions. Sometimes the text I need to add is just a single comma or hyphen, but the default bounding box size is much larger, and resizing these by hand is time-consuming. I'd like an option to fit bounding boxes to their contents without having to edit box sizes by hand. (Text Boxes autofit if you click and drag with the Text Box tool…

Edit webform underlying PDF text
I have built a big Webform and need to edit the text in the underlying PDF.
The instructions say "Editing does not allow Changing the underlying file (eg: change the underlying file, page order, page orientation)".
Do I really have to edit the PDF and upload it again and rebuild all of the fields?Adobe can't expect people to recreate a webform every time they need to make a change to the PDF. Adobe could easily fix this by adding a text tool. I can't spend hours recreating over 50 fields just for a little text…

text boxes not automatically adjusting
I've noticed that when you send out a document to be filled and signed the text boxes do not enter onto a new line when the text reaches the end of the box but instead continues on the same line, off the page, so that you cannot read what everything that has been typed. This is a serious issue and, I would imagine, should be a fairly simple fix. Very irritating and potentially hindering to business.

Bug - Unable to view/adjust fields in a PDF while in Prepare a Form mode after closing the panel
I cannot get rid of the panel and continue preparing a form after clicking the X to close the panel. When I close the panel, it goes to Edit mode which does nothing for me. So, then I hit prepare a form mode then that huge panel shows up again. I do not need this panel to prepare my form all the time. What I do need, is to be able to see the actual pdf page zoomed in and all my thousands of small fields that I can see and adjust.
In the previous version, I was able…1 vote -

Hyphens and apostrophes disappear when programming editable fields in a form.
This bug is only for reversed out text, and only happens when Indd files are placed into another Indd file, before the PDF is exported.
The PDF is fine, until you go to program editable fields, at which point the hyphens and apostrophes all disappear. (This only happens for white text).
