  1. Whenever opening pdf file, Acrobar Pro DC always shows a window titled as 'content preparation progress". This takes too long and blocks file content & makes hard to read file content.
    Sometimes several minutes, sometimes forever!
    This needs to be improved.

  2. This is about both editing and exporting PDFs.
The attached PDF has an explicit explanation of the issues + screenshots. Text from the attached file goes right here.

I’ve got Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2015 Release Version 2015.006.30355.

    On Web page https://www.zm.gov.lv/mezi/statiskas-lapas/nozares-informacija/buklets-meza-nozare-latvija-?nid=1088#jump
..there is a link to a PDF file "Latvia's Forests During 20 Years of Independence" 2010, https://www.zm.gov.lv/public/ck/files/ZM/mezhi/buklets/MN_20_EN.pdf
The PDF file seems to be a nicely composed PDF with Adobe InDesign CS5.5 (7.5.2).
The font used, Museo Slab is a publicly available font, I bet it should not have any major issues.

In the said file, page 47 there…

  3. I want to suggest an improvement to Acrobat Professional:

When adding headers or footers to a document, I suggest that the mechanism use the document's page numbers, instead of inventing its own.

For example, my document has page numbers A.1 through A.29 followed by B.1 through B.7 followed by C.1 through C.6 ... followed by V.1 through V.11.

Right now, it seems that the only way I can get the actual page numbers to accurately appear in the footer is Add 22 different footers. That's an onerous task.

  7. Need a feature that allows you to change the default "Save As" location. This is available in Microsoft Word, but not in Adobe.

  8. We often receive multi-page PDFs of publications initially created in InDesign with a request for updates. In order to make these updates flexibly, we would have to recreate the document indesign and then make the updates.

I seams reasonable to ask Adobe, to create a functionality, where one can convert or export PDF (generated from InDesign document) to .indd InDesign file format.

  9. Provide a check off that functions to prevent the OCR from mixing numbers and symbols in words.
For example: Custodian should not be read Cu&t0d1an - only letters should be recognized in words.

  11. I am running Adobe Acrobat DC on a Windows 7 machine with 16GB of RAM and an NVidia NVS 310 Graphics Card. I have no issues regarding visual display or memory with other software. When running Adobe Acrobat DC, I frequently encounter issues where the file/program crashes, giving an error that it is Out of Memory or encountering a Draw Error. This has happened while reading multiple different PDF files, usually after I have been scrolling through the file for a short time. Usually, when this message occurs the page displays as a blank white page, and if I continue…

  12. The dang AI pop up keeps popping up in front of things I need, I don't know how to read what I need without it popping up in front of it... you make the cursor go away and the pop up goes away, but when you go back because you're trying to highlight something it just pops up again... give it it's own space, not floating in front of the documents. Same can be said for the toolbar... keep it off my document, keep it below or on the side, do not cover the whole reason why I have this…

  14. Running Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 2024.001.20604 on a Mac.

Previously, we could change the commenter name and make the new commenter name a default by editing the comment "Properties > General" and then checking "Make Properties Default", as detailed here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-cc-comment-name-change/td-p/9307260

With the most recent update, "Make Properties Default" has no effect. It continually defaults back to each individual's Adobe User Name with every new comment. We can change each of them by hand, but cannot change the default behavior.

We can enable Edit>Preferences to "Always use Log-in name for author name", but that will only use the log-in name…

  15. The icons are way too small and are greyed out so not very legible
also the most important icons are buried in the bottom right so drop off your screen completely - the most common thing u do when opening a pdf is to enlarge or shrink the size, its a right pain hunting the icons to do that, every time.

  16. Dear Acrobat,
Please listen to customers and stop alienating them. People become dependent on your product through work, then you switch up things and worsen the lives of untold numbers of people. You deserve to lose income in a large scale as a result, faster instead of slower. Stop harming customers. Start making it easer to give you feedback. Start paying attention to it. By making things confusing and harder, your product deserves to lose in the market. But you are leveraging your existing market position to hurt people instead.

  17. The new toolbar isn't great but I can live with it. However, it FREQUENTLY protrudes over the document when you use a tool with a submenu or the type tool with the font and color options. This is very bad, especially when adding a comment in the margins. Since it is possible to move the toolbar, why not make it possible to orient it horizontally at the top or bottom of the page? That way, it won't obstruct lines in the middle of the document that happen to be close to the edge.

  18. New Acrobat has at least 5 menu / tool locations that can not be hidden and panels that pop out.

To call this messy, annoying and cluttering is an under statement.

At least the top menu bar has been slimmed down compared to the prior version.

The top window edge has enough space for all items.

The bottom edge status bar can stay.

ALL OTHER BARS SHOULD BE COMPELTELY UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE USER FOR CONTENT AND VISIBILITY - AT THE APPLICATION LEVEL, NOT PER DOCUMENT.

Ideally, for my uses, Acrobat should open one windows PER document (another bug/omission,…
