  1. Legitimately everyone who has ever posted on this forum about this feature hates it. GET RID OF IT ALREADY! Nobody wants or needs the bookmarks tab to open by default. It is the most irritating thing on the planet!

  2. The user's choice for "fit to width scrolling", "fit one page", "read mode" should remain consistent for ALL documents and sessions. It's extremely aggravating that i have to choose my preference for every document.

Further, based on internet searches, setting the page display preference to "single page continuous" and "fit width" in preferences does not actually change the default behavior to what i want nor stick across future docs that are opened.

Every f*ing doc i open i have to click on the "fit to width scrolling" to be able to read the doc.

  3. Less idea than general feedback below.

I've found adobe acrobat to be a fantastic pdf editor, however, on nearly every occasion i use it I notice there is a considerable performance issue when scrolling through documents.

Vertical scrolling is usually fine, although sluggish, however scrolling side to side nearly always results in there being so much lag, by the time i finish scrolling on the mouse there is about a minute of slow page movement.

This is exasperated when zoomed in where it becomes almost unusable to navigate around a document.

I'm using a very powerful gaming laptop, and many…

  4. The U.S. Patent Office ("USPTO") includes Bookmarks to documents filed on its website. To report the documents to our clients, as filed with the USPTO, I follow the order of the documents as listed on the USPTO's Electronic Acknowledgement Receipt ("EAR"). We download the documents from the USPTO's website. Once you select the documents filed to report, they are downloaded into one file. That file will have bookmarks defining the specific documents downloaded. The order of the downloaded documents rarely match the EAR. For ease of reference for the client, I order the bookmarks to match the EAR. After the …

  5. Dear Adobe Team,

I would like to suggest an improvement for Adobe Acrobat: the addition of a small preview pop-up when hovering over bookmarks, internal links, or external links within a PDF. Many modern applications provide such a feature, allowing users to quickly preview the destination before clicking.

This enhancement could greatly improve navigation efficiency, especially for users working with large PDFs containing extensive bookmarks, cross-references, or hyperlinks. A small pop-up showing the linked page, section title, or even a thumbnail of the target page would make it easier to locate information without unnecessary clicks.

    Would it be…

  6. Workflow that causes issue: I have a PDF book with multiple chapters. Each chapter starts as a PDF generated from InDesign with bookmarks (generated by a table contents) for the different sections in that chapter and a particular, chapter-specific page numbering scheme, e.g. the twelfth page of Section 2C becomes page "2C-12," the fifth page of section 3B becomes page "3B-5," etc. I start by combining all the chapter PDFs into a single full-document PDF. So far so good. The bug occurs when a chapter has been revised, a new chapter PDF has been generated from InDesign, and the pages…

  7. Please add multiple buttons/slots at the top where temporarily current view can be stored and after scrolling to the previous pages one should easily move back where he was reading. While reading, to recall something from previous chapters of a book or to see next mentioned chapters, is a really tedious job to do when you want to go back where you left reading.

  8. Making a PDF from a Word (2016 or 2019) document on the Mac, I can't select job options AND get bookmarks and links. I use the ribbon tool, which offers two options: High Quality and Online (which, ominously, tells me it uses Microsoft servers... why??). High Quality (using, I guess, Distiller) won't make bookmarks or preserve links. Online makes bookmarks and preserves links, but resamples. I end up making both and copy/pasting graphics from the HQ PDF into the Online PDF. Ridiculous workaround.

  9. As shown on the attached screenshot, the mouse wheel does not work here. It would be nice to have this function available for scrolling up or down a long list of comments.

  10. This only occurs if the "New Acrobat" is enabled. The "Split" action does not work when you ask it to split on top-level bookmarks and use the bookmarks names as the output names. When you click on the settings to select these options and save them, sometimes it takes you back to the main screen and the "Split" pop-out is gone. If you go back in, the settings are gone. Other times you can click "Split" but it just names the output files with sequential numbers instead of using the bookmarks.

Disabling "New Acrobat" brings back the old functionality…

  11. When I export just one page from a large Word document to PDF, the bookmarks from ALL pages are included, not just from the selected page. That means I have to wait for the programme to run through all 200-400 pages. I think it is a bug in this version, I have never experienced it before.

  12. I am a paying user of Adobe Acrobat, but I recently discovered that I can no longer create new bookmarks in my PDFs — only view existing ones. This is a core feature I have used extensively in my work and reading, and its removal (or disabling) severely impacts the usability of the software.
If this is an intentional restriction in the new interface, I strongly urge Adobe to reconsider. Bookmarks are a basic navigational tool, not a premium extra. If it's a bug, please prioritize fixing it.
I also tested this on previously created bookmarks, and I can…

  13. In some rare scenario one might want page scrolling to jump to next page like it does by default, but it is an annoyance in the most common context of reading a text document. While there is a way to change this setting, general people cannot be expected to understand that this is done by changing "Page Layout" to "Single Page Continuous" under "Page Display" from "Preferences" under "Edit" menu. Please beef up your UX team!

    Hi,

You can always set the continous scolling as your default view.
Here s how you can do this :
    1) Open preferences dialog (Ctrl+K) and go to Page Display tab
    2) under “Default Layout and Zoom” select the Page layout as Single page Continous and saveit

Let me know if this helps ?

    Thanks
    Ayush

  14. When you click on the shaft of the scroll bar, it doesn't go down/up by a page, but by more than a page.
This only happens when "Enable scrolling" in disabled in the toolbar.

Steps to reproduce: Disable "Enable scrolling" in the page navigation toolbar. Click with the mouse left button on the scroll bar shaft region to scroll one page up or down.

Environment: Windows 10 Pro. Acrobat Reader Continuous Release | Version 2024.005.20320 | 64-bit

Expected behavior: Scrolling one page up or down.

Observed behavior: Scrolling more than one page up or down.

  15. Please Keep "fit one full page" and 'fit to width scrolling" as separate buttons and not in one drop down menu. I switch between these two options a lot since I read a lot of scientific publications and I need to go back and forth, zoom in and out a lot. It is really annoying to click twice every single time.

  16. I am getting issues with scrolling documents - for viewing or editing - on Acrobat DC on Windows - all software up to date.

As I scroll down instead of the document moving clearly I get multiple repeats of the individual lines making the document unreadable.

It is only resolved by scrolling up a few lines and the document 'catching back up' with itself

This 1st occurred when I had Acrobat DC open on 2 windows - it now seems to happen after the program being open for a certain period of time - 15 - 20 minutes, whether I…

  20. How about rolling the mouse wheel to zoom in/out and hold down either left/right button to scroll a document.

Currently DC is set up very unconvenient. I have select zoom and then scroll and then zoom and then scroll as I progress down a documents. It just break the flow.
