  1. It would be useful in Preferences to turn on Show Rulers & Guides by Default. At present you have to go to "View / Show/hide / Rulers & Grids" for every new PDF that you open.

    Implemented  ·  amukherj responded

Right status is Implemented. Resolved is used when we resolve an issue with help, educating the user, providing workaround etc. Actual work from our side in this case – hence Implemented.

  2. Comment Pane: Add/ allow user to resize/ change width of Comment Pane. -

*This is a f/u to previous posts (2021 and older) regarding the width of the Comment Pane.

PLEASE add/ allow user to resize/ change the width of Comment Pane.

Reason? Because each computer monitor, laptop, or tablet have different screen sizes; AND each user have varying degrees of space between actual monitor and eyes (think ergonomic devices, individuals with vision impairments.) Depending on these factors, the Comment Pane prevents the FULL VIEW of a document.

Is this an issue that can be related…

  3. I'm trying to make the select tool the default when Acrobat opens instead of the hand tool.

I was running Acrobat DC fine with the select tool as the default on Windows 7. I just got a new computer with Windows 10 and now I'm having trouble. Same version of Acrobat, just a new operating system.

I've tried almost everything mentioned in this thread: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2179758

The one thing I couldn't try was the scrubbing tool, because I have Creative Cloud. I did uninstall and reinstall Acrobat. It didn't work. Then I tried the "Repair Installation" option in the Acrobat help…

  4. When scrolling the pdf, the comment pane scrolls accordingly. This is expected behavior and a nice feature. However, when viewing multiple pdf files in separate windows, scrolling in one window will also scroll the comment pane of the other windows. This is not expected, scrolling in one window should not scroll the comment pane of other windows.

  6. I am having a hard time editing my documents. I can't find tools. There is a "search for tools function" but it only searches the document and not for tools. Is there an easy way to go back to the earlier version as I'm finding this version very non functional. For instance, it keeps turning on a grid, which is irritating. One time, after about 15 min, I found a way to turn it off (using Google search!) but now I can't find it again. We should be able to search for a tool.

  7. It would be nice, if the TabStrip could be hidden in Reading mode to see more of the whole PDF file. Especially when im arranging/organising more than 2 PDFs on one screen, (for example 4 files on each corner of the screen)
there would be significantly more reading Space on the screen without the 4 TabStrips. As a comparison possibility i have attached SumatraPDF, where you can see less waste of reading space.

  8. Can Adobe PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY - add the crop tool back to the main set of tools (All tools) so I dont have to constantly remind myself where the heck it is? Why did Adobe bury the lead? The crop tool used to be front & center and now its hidden in a tab. I'm forever searching for it on the rare occassion I need to crop within Acrobat.

  9. Return back to prev search tools, especially new window with search results listed. And provide user choice tools on the toolbar across top.
I spend so much more time trying to use newest ver. that I am looking for a better pdf reader solution...you screwed up the most useful tools.

  10. Adobe Photoshop has 70 tools. Acrobat has about half the number of tools as Photoshop. In Photoshop, a user doesn't have to load tools. All are accessible from the Tools panel and menu commands in the Windows menu. In Acrobat one has to load tools from the Load Tools Window. Also in Photoshop one can configure a personalized UI design and save the Workspace. In Acrobat one can spend a few hours configuring the Workspace (for example one designed for working on forms) then the user begins to work on other activities (say comment & review). To…

  11. We are currently in the process of modernizing our internal approval processes and have a number of forms that have been converted from excel worksheets into PDF forms. These forms when submitted, need to step through and be signed by a number of reviewers before final approval by the company Director.

Our process is very collaborative and quite often, signers/reviewers have additional information that needs to be added to the document as it passes through different departments.

With the way our forms currently work with Adobe Sign, whenever a change or addition needs to be made, the sender has to…

  12. There will be no time ever in which I will open a document in Acrobat Pro and want an AI summary rather than reading it. The entire point of opening is to read it, not your guess of what it says. I do not want this feature, I do not want it popping up and offering me ****** AI "tools" I don't need it and it slows me down to actually have to click past it to get my work done.

Please disable all this AI slop by default.

  13. Hello Adobe support,

I cannot find the setting to deactivate "open documents as a new tabs in the same window" (I want a new window for each!) under [preferences > General > Basic Tools] anymore since the latest update. Please can you let me know where I can turn this off? I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader MUI (23.003.20244).

    Thank you and regards,
    Patrick

  14. The latest page layout is so confusing. Why did you do this to us?! It's one thing to update looks and add/subtract features. But you swapped sides. Now all editing tools are on the left and navigation (bookmarks etc.) are on the right. Why do this? That just slows us down and confuses us when we are used to it being editing on the right and navigation on the left. There doesn't seem to be a purpose in swapping them except to torment us. Perhaps you can add a preference in settings where we can make the layout as we…

  15. I regularly highlight documents with numerous colors based on a key. It would be helpful if the comment pane showed the color of the highlight in lieu of the generic grayed out highlight icon. It would make perusing large documents with significant highlights easier to peruse.

    Thanks!

  17. This needs to be massively cleaned up. Tools don't work intuitively, workflow is choppy at best. Understand new functionality is being added, but, the smooth fit-for-purpose flow the older versions had where you can get in and out, get your job done is massively broken so badly that we all actively avoid using the tool as much as possible until we have absolutely no choice. It feels like it's trying to become a destination that sinks a massive amount of time. I want my tools to be quick, easy, efficient and get out of them and on with my core…

  18. Please add keyboard shortcuts to reorder items in the tag panel.

Currently, a user must drag and drop tags in the Tags panel to change the reading order. It is easy to drag and drop items in the wrong place.

    To recreate this problem:
    1.) Open a tagged PDF
    2.) Open Accessibility Tools
    3.) Open Tags Panel
    4.) Attempt to re-order items

It would be extremely useful to be able to do the following
With a tag selected, I want the ability to do the following with the keyboard:

    -Move the tag up
    -Move the tag down…

  19. In a recent update, Adobe Acrobat added 2 buttons in Microsoft Office applications to "Request for Signatures" and "Create and Share Adobe PDF".

This integration doesn't appear in the Ribbon or in the Add-ins list, so currently there is NO way to remove/move those buttons. It is a significant problem when you work with documents side by side or in lower resolution displays because they take too much space in the ribbon and force other more important buttons/groups to collapse/hide.

  20. Bring back the interface where all tools are at the top. In the latest interface various functions are spread out amoung the upper left corner, the top right corner, the bottom left corner, and then some more in the menu bar at the top. Um, who thought this was a good idea?
