Startup window should open at Startup AND when all PDFs are closed
It's good for those of us who utilize Document Cloud and Creative Cloud to have the startup window with access to these files. However, if you close all of the PDFs you have open, this window is no where to be found unless you quit and restart the application (unless it's hiding somewhere in a menu, but why would that be?).

64 bit IE plugin - required to run IE 11 with Enhanced Protected Mode
Adobe Reader XI was given a 64 bit IE plugin in patch 11.0.7, but the 64 bit IE plugin has not been included with Adobe Acrobat XI.
- 64 bit IE plugin - required to run IE 11 with Enhanced Protected Mode
- Include the same 64 bit IE plugin, that was added to Adobe Reader XI in patch 11.0.7, to Adobe Acrobat XI
- Verified in Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2
- When IE 11 is configured with Enhanced Protected Mode, sites that are in the Trusted Zone open in a 32-bit process and will use the 32 bit IE plugin. Sites athat are in the Internet Zone open in a 64-bt process. Sites in the Internet Zone should be able to use an Adobe Plugin.
- Since a 64-bit plugin does not exist, PDFs are not displayed with IE 11. "Work arounds" currently include adding sites to the Trusted Zone and copying the link to the PDF into Adobe Acrobat to open.

Wider Outlook Portfolio Creation Tools
The current Adobe plugin for Outlook 2016 works very well when creating portfolios from a group of emails. I'm able to add as many emails as I want to a single portfolio and the ability to append them when more emails come in is excellent. But these portfolios can only be added to from Outlook. It is important that I am able to add files to these Outlook portfolios without having to email them to myself first.
1 voteHi
Thanks for your request. But this is as designed behavior because non-email PDF files won’t have fields like To:, From:, etc. which will create inconsistency in the PDF Portfolio.
So the workaround would be to email those files and convert/append to portfolios. Thanks

We are looking into this problem. Are you getting an error while converting from PDF to docx (no docx created?), or the file content in docx file after exporting from PDF is incorrect? Please elaborate on the exact issue you are facing.
Also, please share the version of Reader/Acrobat you are using. You will find the version number under Help→Adobe Adobe Acrobat…

Adobe Sign adds a blank page after every page on imported Google Documents
Adobe Sign adds a blank page after every page on imported Google Documents. I didn't find Adobe Sign as an option so I filed this under Acrobat. When we save the document to Word docx the problem does not occur.
3 votesThanks for reporting this. Can you please elaborate on your problem, with steps to reproduce the issue? Also, please share a screenshot/bugfile, if possible, that demonstrates the issue.

Replace the word emit with omit.
In advanced printer settings, when selecting a color to exclude from printing (tiny printer icons next to cyan, magenta, yellow, and black color blocks), please change the word emit with omit. Very different meanings.

Thanks for your valuable feedback. We have forwarded this to engineering team.

Adding White Space via the Crop Tool Does Not Work for Some Pages
Here is a posting I recently made to the Acrobat "Editing and Exporting PDFs" forum:
try67 wrote: "Yes, Acrobat Pro DC can scale all the pages of the file in a single command."
As it turns out, Acrobat Pro XI is supposed to be able to do this, but as I stated offline to try76, "... I experimented with increasing the white space around pages (to 8.5 x 11.0) in XI. The single-column test page I sent you is from a 9-page, mostly three-column document, and when I use the Cropping Tool while attempting to do this, there is one lone (3-column) page that refuses to re-size - whether I try to do it individually or on the whole document...."
All of these pages came from exactly the same source (i.e., a single .TIF scan series, followed by export via ABBYY FineReader Pro 14), so there should be no differences in them - yet Acrobat fails to perform. AFAIK, this is yet another bug, rather than some peculiarity injust that one page.
In the meantime, this same putative "cropping" feature (cough!) in Acrobat Pro XI should be able to process the desired range of pages within the 200-page (4.25 w x 7.0 h) file that I mentioned in my initial forum posting on this subject (above), but when I try it, any number of pages, scattered throughout the document, do not respond to the command.
I already own a full license for ABBYY FineReader 14, which is fully capable of exporting documents having whatever standard or custom page size I choose., but it is somewhat of a PITA having to drag a file like this into FineReader. This risks destruction of front- and back-matter page numbering that was painstakingly created within Acrobat - after which I then have to drag it back into Acrobat for clean-up of the page-numbering mess.

Problems with Icon Rendering on Folder-Level Javascripts in Acrobat DC
My folder-level javascripts place icons on the toolbar using an iconstream. These exact scripts have worked in every version of Acrobat and Reader I have used for several years on both PC and Mac platforms.
In Acrobat DC, the icons behave erratically, sometimes rendering appropriately and sometimes only showing the red Lego-like shape icons rather than the true icon.
The scripts still function properly when invoked by clicking the Lego-like shape icons, but the lack of the scripts' appropriate icons decreases their effectiveness.
I have removed the folder-level scripts, restarted the system and Acrobat and then re-installed the scripts with restarts and still no reliable function.
I have experienced the same behavior on Windows 10 (32 bit system) and Windows 10 (64 bit system) running Acrbat Pro DC (current version 2017.009.20044).

Please make it possible to 1.) import a word doc with images that remain at 300 dpi 2.) check the dpi of images in a PDF
Just to expand the thought above. Many people are online searching for ways to do this. I was told in an Adobe chat that it was not possible. You all are brilliant -- can't you make it possible?

eliminate DC function from DC.
remove the DC function from acrobat DC so users cannot access cloud files. this is a grave security risk. the feature has to an option at installation time so a user cannot switch it on.

Clearer communication
Adobe newsletter touting availability of Compare feature doesn't mention this is a Pro-only feature. The link from the article lists step-by-step instructions for using this cool feature never once mentioning that it's only available for Pro version. The screencap shows Pro but it is tiny font and very easy to miss.
This required an investment by me and your customer support to resolve this. Better communication on your end about who has access to your features is a good thing.1 vote -
Selectively Flatten Watermarks
When adding a watermark to a .pdf file in Acrobat 10, such as "For Draft Review", it would be nice to prevent another Acrobat user from removing the watermark while retaining the ability to still have operable links, such as the Table of Contents or figure references.

Bug - Acrobat Pro X for Windows crashes and stops working every few weeks
Once every few weeks Acrobat Pro X, which I install as part of CS6 for Windows, crashes and stops working. It crashes when I try to open random files. After that it stops working and I need to reinstall it. It happened on two different computers, one running Windows 7 and one Windows 10.

signature appearance
Since last update of Adobe Acrobat Std/Pro, our engineers are not able to sign drawings cause now a predifined rectangle appears which is way too large. People have to sign at the right side of the drawings (DIN A0) with a very small rectangle. You have now to place the new predefined rectangle where top left corner have to fit with top left corner of drawing field. Therefor, you have to zoom out the document to be able to place the rectangle. That way, it's hard to see if you sign the right field at the drawing. Signing hundreds of drawing is a nightmare now.
Please return to old way, where you can define the rectangle by yourself .... or build in a switch to return to old way ... or give us the chance to change the size of predifined rectangle somewhere in "Preferences".

Bug - Acrobat Preflight Fixup Transparency Flattening introduces extreme JPG artifacts
When using the Flatten Transparency Preflight Fixup, transparent images that are flattened are heavily compressed, introducing extreme JPG artifacts and banding in smooth gradients.
This does not match flattening out of Indesign or Illustrator or using the Flattener in the Acrobat Print Production tools. We would expect to get the same results with the Preflight fixup that would be produced with other flattening methods.
See attached with examples of original unflattened art, art flattened with Acrobat Print Production and Acrobat Preflight fixup.
Preflight produces a severely degraded image with visible banding and large artifacts that aren't visible on the other two blends.
Produced using Mac OS X, and Acrobat DC and XI. Source files came from Illustrator CC 2017 and InDesign CC 2014.
PDFs were exported as PDF X4 if left unflattened when PDF was made or PDF X1a if flattened during PDF generation out of the source application.
