  1. When implementing all Adobe/Protect security features to prevent printing, copying, or editing a secured pdf, the PDF can still be edited, copied or printed when opened by the Chrome Document Previewer. With the print option reenabled in the previewer, you can print the secured document as a PDF and save to a file directory and upon opening the saved copy, all security policies have been removed. After discovering this, I researched to see if there was an oversight on my part and stumbled across an article on WikiHow titled, "How to Unlock a Secure PDF File" which outlines…

  2. In the latest update pushed this week, 2024.005.20421, the Light Theme "Old" style Acrobat (Pro and Reader) version was updated to 2024.005.20421 recently. The "Light Gray" Display Theme File Menu bar highlights color changed and is hard to read the text since it doesn't change the text to White like the main window bar. When the mouse hovers over the File Menu options, the dark Blue color overpowers the text color which stays a dark gray. See attached. Before, it wasn't a blue highlight but a gray with black text.
No changes to the Windows 11 system settings for Color…

  3. Acrobat DC 2020 (20.013.20064)
    MacOSX 10.14.16

Exporting PDFs in Acrobat DC 2020 to Word (.docx or .doc) embedded raster images with (rastered) text (e.g. maps etc.) are blurry/with low resolution in the resulting Word document. This is especially the case if the export OCR option is clearly disabled. Other raster images (without text) are not affected. Embeeded raster images in the source PDF can be jpg or tif with "high" resolution like 300 or 600dpi and the result is allways the same bad quality for raster images with text (either source format of the embedded …

  4. Without using the password, a secured PDF can be rendered unsecured easily with Acrobat Professional. Click on the Tools tab, click Edit, then allow Acrobat to save a copy of the file. Password protection is removed in the new file. I would consider this a serious bug that needs to be addressed promptly.
    Thank you

When we exchange layout PDFs with our clients, they send us the PDF back with comments. It would be really helpful if you could insert screenshots via copy/paste into the comment box.

  6. Steps to reproduce the issue: Open a PDF file in single-page continuous layout. Connect an external mouse. Compare scrolling the PDF with an external mouse and with the built-in trackpad.

Environment: Acrobat Pro DC 2021.001.20145 on macOS 11.2.3 in MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020). External mouse: Logitech M720 Triathlon. Smooth scrolling is enabled.

Expected result: Scrolling with the scroll wheel on an external mouse should scroll the PDF as smoothly as scrolling with the built-in trackpad.

Observed result: Scrolling with the scroll wheel on an external mouse scrolls the PDF too quickly compared to smoother scrolling using the…

  7. We’ve recently encountered a set of PDFs that cause errors in Acrobat Pro DC.

They are provably valid and syntax error free. We’ve checked the PDFs with:

    • Adobe's (DataLogics) PDF checker command line
      No errors reported.

    • Acrobat's pre-flighting
      No errors reported.

    • RUPs (IText)
      No errors reported.

    • Enfocus PitStop
      No errors reported.

Every other software we've tried can open, read and edit the document without issue.

Yet when these same PDFs are opened in Acrobat DC Pro, we find that Acrobat shows generic errors when an attempt is made to edit the PDF.

    Steps to reproduce the issue:

    1) Open…

  8. I am unable to "save as" since the most recent update. I use Windows 10 Pro. My expected result is that I can "save as" rather than the white screen I get when I try to "save as"

  9. I can no longer save copies of completed/cancelled agreements. It acts like it saves it, but when you go to where you saved it, nothing. It even opens a new copy of the agreement, adding a bunch of symbols and characters to the original file name, but I can't find where it is located. I try a 'save as' on that version and it tells me it can't because the file is already open. This is a huge issue if I can't get final versions out of Adobe and into our company archival system. Please fix asap!

  10. Prior to Acrobat DC I could add a variety of markups/items (shapes, lines, text boxes) to a PDF and then select them by dragging over them with the arrow tool and then copy them either with a CTRL-C or by holding down the control key and dragging further. None of this now works in DC and that makes it much harder to use.

  11. Need a keyboard shortcut to insert Clipboard contents into PDF as new page. Should default to adding after current page. Should work regardless of whether pages tab is open. This feature would help make Acrobat the top tool for documenting web pages as web print output is often awkward and we need to combine multiple images / pages into one PDF document.

  12. I frequently use a program where I open multiple PDFs, combine them and only save the final result. I am now only able to combine them after I have saved each PDF individually. This was not an issue previously.

  13. TLDR: expected result is that fonts will look the same in exported JPEG as they do in the PDF (when displayed 1:1). They currently don't.

When exporting to JPEG from PDF, even at max quality setting, embedded fonts have no smoothing/anti-aliasing applied when rasterized and look very choppy. Especially if exporting for web at 72ppi. Only way to mitigate (without fully resolving) this is to export at some absurdly high resolution (600+). We need not only resolution settings but dimension settings for JPEG export settings, and the embedded fonts need to be rasterized at that size and resolution / have…

  14. When a date field in a PDF form is set to "read only" and the user tabs or clicks into the box and presses the down arrow, the calendar picker still pops up and allows the user to select a new date. This was tested by setting the field to "read only" via signature, and by setting it manually as well.

Tested in both Windows and Mac environment on the latest versions of reader and pro.

Expected result would be that the field remains completely uneditable when setting to read only.

Observed result when following the steps outlined above is…

  15. As of right now there are only two options to highlight documents. One is freeform (the circle cursor that allows you to draw out a highlight) and the other is text selection highlighting. These are great , however, Adobe Acrobat DC decides which one you can use and will not let you switch. Also there are times when OCR cannot recognize the text on a printed/scanned image so when I go to highlight it highlights the random whole sections of the page. The work around to this is using the rectangle tool but now that tool is limited to being…

  16. I am mass printing forms that contain signatures created by drawing on tablets or mobile devices to Acrobat PRO; however I am seeing that some signatures are being covered by a black box when opened in Pro. It is random. This does not happen when I try to Save as PDF and not bring the image into Adobe however I then lose all Adobe Pro capabilities like Combine, OCR, Organize, etc

  17. Within the Adobe Admin Console an administrator does not have the capability to export user data identifying which product is assigned to the user. To run the reports you have to drill to every product and export the data. I asked for the report from tech support and they said the feature I am requesting is not available but to request to it added as a feature. On the feature wish form drop list it does not specify Admin functions so I chose first Adobe product on the list. The function to export all user data to understand the products…

  18. Less idea than general feedback below.

I've found adobe acrobat to be a fantastic pdf editor, however, on nearly every occasion i use it I notice there is a considerable performance issue when scrolling through documents.

Vertical scrolling is usually fine, although sluggish, however scrolling side to side nearly always results in there being so much lag, by the time i finish scrolling on the mouse there is about a minute of slow page movement.

This is exasperated when zoomed in where it becomes almost unusable to navigate around a document.

I'm using a very powerful gaming laptop, and…

  19. To ensure that assistive technologies can parse tables, headers that are repeated across pages should be marked as artifacts. This is recommended by the PDF Association's Tagged PDF Best Practice Guide: Syntax: https://www.pdfa.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/TaggedPDFBestPracticeGuideSyntax.pdf . However, this structure is not followed by PDFMaker when converting from Word to PDF.

    Steps to reproduce the issue
    1. Open the attached Word document.
    2. Go to Acrobat > Create PDF.
    3. Press Save.
    4. Open the resulting PDF (also attached).
    5. Open the Tags panel (View > Show/Hide > Navigation Panes > Tags).
    6. Expand the <Table> tag.
