  1. Prior to Acrobat DC I could add a variety of markups/items (shapes, lines, text boxes) to a PDF and then select them by dragging over them with the arrow tool and then copy them either with a CTRL-C or by holding down the control key and dragging further. None of this now works in DC and that makes it much harder to use.

  2. I am unable to "save as" since the most recent update. I use Windows 10 Pro. My expected result is that I can "save as" rather than the white screen I get when I try to "save as"

  3. Need a keyboard shortcut to insert Clipboard contents into PDF as new page. Should default to adding after current page. Should work regardless of whether pages tab is open. This feature would help make Acrobat the top tool for documenting web pages as web print output is often awkward and we need to combine multiple images / pages into one PDF document.

  4. As stated in the title, Acrobat is repeatedly seizing window focus and popping back on top of the other windows when it opens another file.

This even happens when running actions on an entire folder of pdfs.

I have been running a set of action sequences on a folder of about 400 files for the last few days.

My original intention was to start the sequence and then continue to work on other portions of the project while the pdf's were modified and saved.

Instead, acrobat grabs the mouse and keyboard back every time it opens the next file (about…

  5. I frequently use a program where I open multiple PDFs, combine them and only save the final result. I am now only able to combine them after I have saved each PDF individually. This was not an issue previously.

  6. When "Promote Gray to CMYK Black is selected, all neutral and near-neutral grays in an RGB files are converted into a predominantly black color.

When this function is disabled, the grays are converted into CMYK as encoded in the target ICC profile.

The expected behavior is that only grayscale images are moved to the black channel of a CMYK image.

The only explanation in Acrobat's online User Guide is as follows:

"Promote Gray To CMYK Black - Converts device gray to CMYK."

This function should not change the way an RGB image is converted into CMYK. This conversion…

  7. As a proofreader, I like to use the read-aloud feature. Acrobat's, however, is now unusable. It crashes on my Mac. I cannot read paragraph by paragraph. If I pause to insert a comment, it restarts reading from the top of the page. If there are columns, pullquotes, figures or tables, sometimes it reads across the width of the page instead of vertically. It's just a mess.

I used to be able to use my Mac's built in read-aloud feature, which allows me to select text to read out loud. That no longer works in Acrobat, although it does in…

  8. If required fields that are hidden are not filled, then the submit form action for a button produces an error that required fields are not completed.

I have some fields that are set to be hidden or visible depending on other information in the form.

I am searching for a script to work around this; however, I think this should already be the case as hidden fields are hidden for a reason.

  9. I created a form in Acrobat DC Pro, distributed and collected the form successfully. In the collection window, Any field filled up in Arabic shows up properly – see screenshot (Collected-results-with-Arabic.jpg).
However when I export all results to .csv format so I can compare all results, any Arabic text will display as dots – see screenshot (arabic-in-excel.jpg)

I performed all above steps on Mac and Windows using Acrobat Pro DC 15.23.20056.213124 with similar results

Arabic text should be readable in the exported .csv file

Arabic text is converted to dots upon exporting all data from…

  10. Adobe Acrobat Pro DC on Windows 10 ver 1803 is unable to print the pdf file. It says "not responding" for an hour. I reboot the computer, restart the program and the same result each time.

    Thanks,
    DC

  11. Without using the password, a secured PDF can be rendered unsecured easily with Acrobat Professional. Click on the Tools tab, click Edit, then allow Acrobat to save a copy of the file. Password protection is removed in the new file. I would consider this a serious bug that needs to be addressed promptly.
    Thank you

  12. We’ve recently encountered a set of PDFs that cause errors in Acrobat Pro DC.

They are provably valid and syntax error free. We’ve checked the PDFs with:

    • Adobe's (DataLogics) PDF checker command line
      No errors reported.

    • Acrobat's pre-flighting
      No errors reported.

    • RUPs (IText)
      No errors reported.

    • Enfocus PitStop
      No errors reported.

Every other software we've tried can open, read and edit the document without issue.

Yet when these same PDFs are opened in Acrobat DC Pro, we find that Acrobat shows generic errors when an attempt is made to edit the PDF.

    Steps to reproduce the issue:

    1) Open…

    1. Open a PDF containing text in Acrobat Reader or Acrobat (18) in macOS (10.12.6) on the Mac (also applies to other versions).
    2. In order to select a string of words, double-click on the first word and, without releasing the mouse button, drag in the required direction to extend the selection.

Expected Result: Acrobat should select the word you double-clicked on, and THEN extend the selection word by word based on the direction of the dragging.

Observed Result: Acrobat selects the word you double-clicked on, and then fails to extend the selection.

The only way to select a string…

  13. To split pages, you have 2 different workflows for the following:
    -Application (Adobe Acrobat DC)
    -Online
Create the same workflow and copy the Online workflow version to Application because it is easier to work.

  14. As of right now there are only two options to highlight documents. One is freeform (the circle cursor that allows you to draw out a highlight) and the other is text selection highlighting. These are great , however, Adobe Acrobat DC decides which one you can use and will not let you switch. Also there are times when OCR cannot recognize the text on a printed/scanned image so when I go to highlight it highlights the random whole sections of the page. The work around to this is using the rectangle tool but now that tool is limited to being…

  15. Within the Adobe Admin Console an administrator does not have the capability to export user data identifying which product is assigned to the user. To run the reports you have to drill to every product and export the data. I asked for the report from tech support and they said the feature I am requesting is not available but to request to it added as a feature. On the feature wish form drop list it does not specify Admin functions so I chose first Adobe product on the list. The function to export all user data to understand the products…

  16. I am completing a school application form. It requires a signature. When I select/enter a signature it sits behind the white rectangle that is intended as the background for a hand written signature i.e. the signature is completely hidden and the form is unusable without being printed out (I have no printer).

  18. After exporting a pdf as images and combining the files. It won't save the combined file. When I hit "save" and choose a location it doesn't save and the save icon stays lit. This only happens with images I export from Acrobat. I can combined PDFs perfectly fine. I have Windows 11

  19. When implementing all Adobe/Protect security features to prevent printing, copying, or editing a secured pdf, the PDF can still be edited, copied or printed when opened by the Chrome Document Previewer. With the print option reenabled in the previewer, you can print the secured document as a PDF and save to a file directory and upon opening the saved copy, all security policies have been removed. After discovering this, I researched to see if there was an oversight on my part and stumbled across an article on WikiHow titled, "How to Unlock a Secure PDF File" which outlines…
