1. save PDF to same folder as original file

   When I right click on a word or excel file and "convert to pdf" it would be better if the new pdf could save to the same folder as the original file by default. There should be an option to allow this, which I found to be a huge time saver when using Kofax Power PDF. The current adobe saving options only allow for using one pre-defined folder, or the last folder that something was saved to. This results in files being saved to the wrong location, or time wasted navigating to different folders every time.

3. Clicking on links causes Adobe Acrobat Reader to crash

   Clicking on any links in any PDF causes Adobe Acrobat Reader to hang and crash

   1. Open any PDF document that contains a hyperlink in Adobe Acrobat Reader
   2. Windows 11 (Continuous Release I Version 2023.006.20320 I 64-bit)
   3. I expected to open the link in my default browser in Windows 11
   4. The application hangs (spinning mouse cursor) and becomes unresponsive. After 10 seconds of this, I have to close Adobe Reader and try again. But it does that again. Unable to open any link whatsoever. I just copy the link by highlighting it in the PDF and paste in the browser. Much much quicker! But it means that clicking on any links in Adobe Reader there is a serious delay and becomes totally unresponsive when the link is clicked and when the program asks me to open it

4. Microsoft Teams Link Error

   Copy and pasted MS Teams link from MS Outlook/MS Teams and the URL would display properly in MS Word. Print as PDF. However, when copying and pasting this URL from PDF and into browser or MS word, a hyphen is missing creating a dead URL. Part of URL is blacked out for privacy.

6. additional lines appearing on hardcopy

   Physically printing PDF-files with Adobe Reader (2025.001.20474) results in additional lines on the printed page. Can be reproduced when printing with "Microsofot Print to PDF" and saving as PDF. See attached examples: DemoOriginal.pdf is the original file, DemoReexportwithBug.pdf is the result when printing with Microsoft Print to PDF. This is also what it looks like when printed on a physical printer.

7. OMG, what a nightmare.

   I have been working with Acrobat for as long as it has existed, and this version is a nightmare. I have spent hours trying to sign a contract while my customer waits for a response. The sign icon at the top is greyed out. I am unable to edit, add text fields, add signature image. I may have to resort to printing the entire contract and rescanning it as I also cannot insert a page into this locked document. We do not need more features, we just need the ones we have to work.

8. Outstanding Product

   It's been over ten years since I sold the tech company I owned for 22 years. I've been enjoying retirement...until about a month ago! A friend recruited me to help convert some hard copy documents, produced in the mid-eighties, and make them into accessible PDF files. She knew I had some background in technology and specifically with creating PDFs from paper. The documents were going to be part of a new web site about the history of ADA! Given the nature of the site, the documents needed to be accessible! I downloaded Acrobat Pro DC (and a couple of screen readers to help with testing (JAWS, NVDA,(it wasn’t until later that I found Adobe’s ‘read out loud’ feature)).

   I knew right away the Acrobat Pro software was one of the most incredible tools I've ever used! And I've tested a ton of software. My company was an ASP (Adobe Service Provider) for many years and produced a lot of searchable databases full of PDF files.

   The 7 day trial and monthly subscription made it easy to get back in the game. I didn’t know anything about Acrobat Pro, I’d never even heard of it. After learning and using it for a couple of weeks I can absolutely say it IS the most completely amazing piece of software I’ve ever used! Congratulations!!

   All of the old documents have been converted and have passed all accessibility checks!!

   BTW – sometime in the mid-nineties I was selected to be the moderator of what I think was the first and only symposium on a new technology called “Portable Document Format”. If I’m not mistaken the companies represented were Word Perfect, WordStar and Adobe. The symposium was held at the headquarters of USGS (United States Geological Survey). My company had been experimenting with this new “universal” format from the companies represented. It was clear to us Adobe was way ahead of the competition. The symposium left most of the attendees with the same conclusion.

   Also in the mid-nineties my company was selected to convert the whole collection of OTA (Office of Technology Assessment) documents before the agency was closed. We were having a problem with one of the documents; it was about 600 pages long. We tried and tried but could not make an image+text PDF from our scanned images. The PC kept crashing or locking up. I called Adobe and actually got the Acrobat Product Manager on the line. After some discussion he told me he had never seen a 600 page PDF and wasn’t sure if one could be created from hard copy…but if I was successful would I please send him a copy on a CD! We maxed out memory and everything else you could max out on a PC back then and voila! We made a 600 page PDF! 10. Error code : 401. Can't establish connection with servers

    Steps before I encountered the issue :

    Wrote a document in LibreOffice Writer, exported it directly as PDF.
    Opened it in Adobe Acrobat Pro (Windows). Put 2 signature-type text fields for me and my friend to sign (it's a debt acknowledgment paper, needs 2 signatures)

    Clicked on "Vérifier et Envoyer" (verify and send button).

    Expected Result : send a mail
    Observed Result : no mail sent. Error code 401.

    I also tried to save as a certified directly from the signature tab but it doesn't work. Doesn't work with 1 signature, doesn't work with 2. The progress bar stops half-way and nothing happens.

    My friend also tried on his side and he has exactly the same problem. I'll ask him to upvote this post if he can.

11. Bug: Incorrect number format options for form fields - missing thousand and decimal separator options

    Mac OSX, Adobe Acrobat PRO DC (Build: 20.9.20067.384717)

    I am working on improving some pdfs at work, in one of these there are two fields for the user to input numbers (currency), but the field type number does not include any format that is correct way of formatting numbers in Norway.

    I need the thousand separator to be space and the decimal separator to be comma, the only options in the form field settings is
    1.123,10
    1,123.10
    1123,10
    1123.10
    1'123.10
    not the one I need, and that is correctly format for most numbers in Norway (expected result):
    1 123,10

    Instead of selection between those 5 presets, it should be two separate options, one to set thousand separator and for decimal separator. A third option should allow changing thousand separator to other groupings. And it should also be possible to turn off decimals.

13. Edit filename of PDF that is saved to Document Cloud

    I am editing a PDF I have saved to Document Cloud. I realize the filename is no longer right, so I want to change it. I only know two ways

    1. open web browser, go to Document Cloud, and rename file
    2. save a new local copy of the PDF named "File B." Then upload File B to Document Cloud and remove File A from the document cloud. Then delete my local copy of File B.

    I would just like to be able to change the filename on the fly (like in Google Docs) Thank you

14. Allow input of special characters in comments and option to display them

    Allow special characters in comments such as zero width non-joiner, non-breaking space, non-breaking hyphen, forced line-breaks (not paragraph breaks), etc. and provide an option to display them like InDesign’s “Display Hidden Characters”.

    It is an indispensable feature for workflows where copy editors and typesetters use PDF comments to correct texts that will then be imported into InDesign for review.

    Furthermore, comment text fields should allow invoking macOS Emoji & Symbols palette (see https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/mchlp1560/mac) to easier input.

15. Edit mulitple form properties at the same time

    Can only change tool tips for one item at a time. Have to change dozens from previous form and can only do one at a time. If copy / paste have to change the name so they won't be linked.

16. Error Adobe can not read your page properly....{bug}

    Hi, any idea what the error is relating to this PDF? It was created in adobe acrobat pro, but once filled and png signature image applied over the top of pdf the file shows the error pictured. The pdf previews perfect in every other PDF reader known to man apart from adobe acrobat dc and pro. HELP please. :)

17. Unknown location if available for the crop feature. To crop documents.

    Older versions I was able to quickly locate the tools to crop an image to make it smaller. I was also able to break down a document and extract one page if needed as a pdf file. Manipulate files is what this was useful for. No longer is this a user friendly program.

19. Needed : a true 64-bit version of your software

    The current 32-bit version of Acrobat Pro DC becomes corrupt within a few weeks of normal use on a 64-bit machine, which thereafter makes it increasingly frustrating to use (with difficulties saving files to new names or locations, among many other issues). I am tired of having to reinstall your software every few weeks, only to see it degenerate to the point of unusability again. I wish you would release a 64-bit version that was designed for dedicated use on a 64-bit machine.

    second, I know that we can attach a jpg file ,but you will have to leave the reader and open it and when you send it to others it won't open and I know that we can edit pdf to add images ,but sometimes there is no enough space in the page and its so hard to readjust the pdf so it looks normal again, so if we could to comment with a sticky note but we can add in that sticky note a jpg image so that we could write a caption with the image it would be so helpful especially for students of chemistry ,pharmaceutical science and medicine .
