  1. I'm getting no sensible suggestions on how to flatten a file for printing. This is one of the simplest and most basic of needs for the printing industry and I'm just staggered at the lack of clarity everywhere I look and whenever I ask. I work in Word to create artwork then convert this to a PDF but the existing pathway to flattening the file does not work and creates a chaotic image with bits missing and colours changed. How do I flatten a PDF???

  2. TITLE:
Saving PDF file from Word always results in "a file conversion is already in progress" error on a Mac.

In Word the Acrobat ribbon's "Create PDF" button either does nothing when it is clicked or it results in "a file conversion is already in progress" error from Acrobat.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE:
    1. Open any Word Document
    2. Click Acrobat tab to see the Acrobat Ribbon
    3. Click "Create PDF"
    4. This opens the "Acrobat Create PDF" dialog box.

  3. Acrobat Pro Feature Request

I have a document that is approximately 6x3". I need to output this document to two different PDF deliverable files:

    1) at the 6"x3" size, for use on a tiny screen

    and

    2) on 8.5"x11" size with 3 tiny pages per sheet, for efficient printout on standard paper or viewing in PDF

I save my source content to the 6"x3" size and get a beautiful PDF file. Deliverable 1 looks great.

But, I cannot save my source content to PDF with multiple pages per sheet (from Word).

Also, from Acrobat, I cannot save the output 1…

  4. Steps to reproduce the issue:
    1. Open "Send"-tab in Adobe Sign
    2. Use the classic experience
    3. Upload about 10 to 15 files
    4. Try to sort it

    Environment:
    Windows 10 Version 22H2 (Build 19045.4529)
    Microsoft Edge Version 126.0.2592.81 (64-Bit)

    Expected result:
    1. Files don't overlay the UI-elements
    2. File-container adds scrollbar and can be scrolled if attached files take up more space than the container is large
    3. Files can be sorted

    Observed result:
    1. Files overlay UI-elements (looks like overflow visible)
    2. No scrollbar is added
    3. Files can't be sorted in the part that overlays…

  5. In Acrobat Pro DC, I'd like a way to equalize the width of space characters. OCR results often give uneven spacing that needs cleaning up. I can reset the horizontal scaling and the character spacing using the "T" and "AV" options, but the width of space characters are not affected by that. The only workaround I've found for this is to copy the results to another application, and then back to Acrobat again, which seems inefficient.

  6. This is a bug report.

A user reported Acrobat is crashing when opening a PDF and clicking on a textbox to edit it. It happens 2 out of 3 times on multiple PDF's.

We repaired the installation, reinstalled, removed the AppData\Local\Acrobat folder and also removed the Acrobat reg key but the problem persists.

I took a copy of a document and ran it on the previous version of Acrobat reader (On another PC outside of the users environment) and it didn't crash.

I then updated to the latest version (2023.008.20421 64 bit) and tested again, and the problem happens.

    Therefore…

  7. Environment:

    Windows 10
    InDesign 15.0.3
    Acrobat Pro DC 20.0

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create a new Document in InDesign
    2. Add a text frame and filler text
    3. Export PDF No. 1

    4. Add a soft return / forced line break somewhere in the filler text (e.g. between "evendae." and "Et", line 5)

    5. Export PDF No. 2

    6. Compare PDF No. 1 and PDF No. 2 in Acrobat Pro (compare everything, not "text only")

    Expected result

The soft return should be recognized as a change.

    Observed result

The soft return is not recognized as a change in the comparison, despite impacting the text flow significantly.

  9. This issue relates to a feature request which I will submit separately. In the meantime, here is what I posted about this problem in the Acrobat Pro "Editing & Exporting PDFs" forum:

As described in a related "PDF Page Size" message thread, I am needing to change the font color of all - or a specified range of - pages within a 200-page PDF file, from dark grey to black. As stated in that separate thread:

In experimenting with changing the font color in a fully-justified three-column text document, in Acrobat Pro XI (Windoze 7 Professional), I am having disappointing …

This is how Acrobat is designed to work and currently we do not have any plans to change it.

  10. SysInfo ICS File Converter is an easy-to-use tool that helps you convert .ics calendar files into different formats. You can save your calendar data as Outlook PST, Excel, Google CSV, Word, Image, or other document formats. It can convert multiple calendar files at the same time. Additionally, it also migrates ICS to Office 365, Gmail, and Google Workspace with attachments. Using this utility, you can remove duplicates and apply a date range filter for selective conversion.

Adobe Reader 2020 when selecting "Send File..." displays a dialogue the initial time with an option to "Remember my choice" to select Default email application or Webmail. If the application and
"Remember..." option is selected this dialogue does not display again and future PDF emailing drops directly in to Outlook.

  12. The blue ribbon that prompts me to apply unapplied redactions is a major inconvenience. (See: Adobe Acrobat blue ribbon.PNG)

I use Adobe Acrobat to redact information from large documents. I can spend weeks assessing and redcating the same document. I do not apply the redactions until I am finished, because:

1/ I need to be able to refer to content that is being redacted throughout the assessment process.

2/ I need to keep a copy of the document with unapplied redactions.

3/ Sometimes I need to be able to undo previously made redactions.

Prompting me to apply redactions when I…

  13. Since the Adobe Acrobat Update in December with version 23.008.2042x, our
    coworkers reporting Adobe Acrobat crashes.

    Steps to reproduce the issue:
We found out, it is only, when opening the pdf and click instant a linked document (another pdf) on a fileshare, so that you hover the link, it does not display the full URL.

    Expected result:
Opening the hyperlink / another document.

    Observed result
If you wait around 3-5 seconds, and the mouse hover shows the full link, than Adobe does not crash, and asks with security dialog, if you want to open this file.

  14. The joined file is a simple image JPEG which has been converted into PostScript with 'jpeg2ps'. The resulting PostScript file is only a wrapper around the JPEG file which is coded in ASCII85 inside. Acrobat Distiller 20.0 (Windows) converts into a blank file. However, it was correctly converted in Acrobat Distiller X and XI. It's also converted correctly by GhostScript. Remark: I have renamed the file image.txt because it was impossible to load a file with the extension ps. However, when changing the extension to ps, it's my file.

  15. I have a major problem with the Date of Signing field.
Because I work in a regulated industry, all our documents are controlled and therefore must go through an approval process before they can be released. The previous version of esign allowed the text size of the Date of Signing to be controlled with the box size so I could fit the date inside the document field. The new version puts date of a standard size font into the space I designate, regardless of how small/large I make the box. The result is that the date is cut off the…

  16. Most of the time, I've had no trouble with conversions of scientific graphics in Microsoft Word to the corresponding PDF images. This time it was really messed up! I've attached the Acrobat DC conversion and a similar conversion with another PDF converter program. The latter was a faithful translation of the Word image.

    Can this be fixed?

  17. 1 of several problems in how PDF Maker (and InDesign's export to PDF utility) tag PDFs.

In Table Editor, the editor's cell markers (bright pink lines) do not align with the actual <TD> data cells. This makes it difficult, and sometimes impossible, to correct a cell's tag.

Most commonly seen in complex tables with merged cells in the column and row headers. See screen capture.

    Also see this blog post:
    https://www.pubcom.com/blog/2020_04-05/ACROBAT_tableeditor.shtml

    EXPECTED RESULT:
Table Editor's cell outlines should match the actual cells.

  18. In the new version UI, when using Find (Ctrl+F) sometimes the search yields no results, and in consequence causes a popup saying that it didn't find the result, independently if the term I was looking for is in the documente. (please see attachment).

The before behaviour is not showing an popup when the search yielded no results.

This popup will interfere with the focus on the UI, and pressing Esc to get rid of the Find bar will only get rid of the popup, not the entire bar.
To remove the bar I need to press 2…

  19. Request: Improve dialog for scanning settings

Pain Point: When scanning documents, I sometimes need to select single-sided scanning and other times 2-sided scanning. It is cumbersome to have to click on the "gear icon" for document type, e.g., color and then also have to click on a very small option for 1 or 2-sided scanning.

Desired result: Build in sets of radio buttons to quickly establish document type, color mode, e.g., color, gray or black and white, and 1 sided or 2 sided scanning.

  20. When working on a change that involves 50 different PDFs, similar but not exact, but all need the same little text box, cloud or arrow added to it - it would be helpful if when copied and pasted it would LAND IN THE SAME PLACE IT WAS ON THE ORIGINAL. It is time consuming to task to have to go to each PDF and adjust the placement.
