How do I make Adobe the default program to open documents - using iMac Sierra 10.12.5
I was using a different program as the default program to open documents but I don't like it so I want to go back to Adobe but I can't figure out how to change it, it doesn't give me the option to make it the default program even though I deleted the other program, now it defaults to Preview.

Default hide navigation pane
If I can't figure out a way to stop getting a massive bookmarks pane EVERY SINGLE TIME I open any file I am going to set my computer on fire.
The Wizard won't do it. Edit > Preferences > Restore last view setting when reopening documents won't do it. I can't mess with the system registry on a work computer so that won't do it. Do not tell me to tick the restore last view setting box.
Look at this bookmarks pane. Look at it.

Forms Submit Email Button - Alternation of default text on body of email
When creating a form using the Submit by email button, and when testing the function, you get the below text as the default body of the email.
“The attached file contains data that was entered into a form. It is not the form itself.

Change default number of pages when splitting documents
**NOT FIXED FOR NEW VERSIONS ONLY OLD
Need the ability to change the number of default pages when splitting a document from 2 to 1. I never have to split the document into 2 page increments and changing that number from 2 to 1 every time is tedious and slow. I saw this was fixed 4 years ago but the new versions of Acrobat Pro have the issue again with no solution.1 vote -
Possible Bug: Adobe Sign fails if using quotes (") anywhere within message body.
If you use quotes (“) anywhere in the message body, Adobe Sign will fail at 60% with this error when you click on the “Specify Where To Sign” button or “More Options” link.
It had no problem with the ($) and the (/) characters.

"Read Only" message cannot be closed
When I open a document, a blue bar with a "Read Only" message is displayed near the top and the only way to close it is to click "Enable Editing". Older versions allowed the bar to be closed by clicking the "i" icon on the left (what an idiot had such stupid idea???).
BTW, what editing??? Which part of the word "Reader" don't you understand? Adobe Reader is a tool for viewing documents, not editing them!!!

Ability to open PDFs in Organizer MOde by default (or to switch back and forth). Or alternatively the ability to switch to organizer mode for multiple PDFs that are open at the same time. Right now, you would have to click on each PDF individually and then click on Organizer

Collapse "navigation pane buttons" bar by default
Hello friends. Firstly (coming from X on Windows 10) I think the new Acrobat UI is very cool! I have been able to customize almost completely to optimize for my work. I'd like to request a new feature I can't find (but if exists please point me to the solution). I'd like to open a pdf and have the "navigation pane buttons" completely hidden by default. Default browsing top to bottom is not neutral.
Default browsing method is from past, text roll what was used in churches and squeres for the news and informing new things, laws etc.
For arabic text bacward and reguar browsing method, horisontal, it can be used mouse too but easyly by arrow keys. Now horisontal and vertical are mixup, it causes disfunktion in brain, when you read a book you say forward but in computer you say down, it doesent make sense because in european culture down is back and up is forward, how we understand things. Change default "Home" screen in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
When using Adobe Acrobat Pro for scanning documents every 10 minutes, I need to have a "Home" screen with only one button - "Create PDF" + "From Scanner" + "Grayscale Document (front side)".
The new setting is driving me crazy. I wish I could downgrade to the old Adobe Acrobat design!

Add a download link with words in the web view of pdf sent by Sent&Track service, customers don't think to your logo and refuse Send&Track
The download logo is not enough. Most of my customers can not find / do not understand how to print when they see the page after following a sent&track link. They don't think to download and don't pay attention to this logo so they refuse your system and request the pdf file by email ... for a link.

Error message when attempting to compress a file "An error was encountered while processing images."
I receive this error message when I select File -> Compress PDF.
I currently have Adobe Acrobat Standard DC installed on a computer running Windows 10.
I have used this feature to compress numerous other PDFs made from documents that contain text and images. I'm not sure why this feature has found a problem with the images. It would be nice if the error message also included suggestions on how to fix the problem.

Error message when attempt to recover autosaved files
The autosave/autorecover feature is malfunctioning. "There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found" is the message I receive after being prompted to recover document after Windows restarted my computer with an Adobe documents open with unsaved changes. This occurs each time since I upgraded to the Pro version.

enable scrolling - please
View>Page Display > Enable scrolling. Make it easy to change the default for this OR even better please make enabled scrolling the default view. Who on this earth doesn't want to enable scrolling? Please tell me what kind of business person that is who likes the pages to keep jerking around as you get too close to the bottom of the screen when enabled scrolling is not enabled. Tell me! Probably seismologists.

I want to be able to set the view defaul to "fit to page" because every time I open a new file or skip to a bookmark, I have to decrease the page size to be able to see the whole page and this REALLY slows me down.

Default Thumbnail View/Size
I am coming from Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 and started using Adobe Acrobat Pro Continuous Release (latest and greatest?). My only real complaint is that Pro 2017 would keep the last thumbnail size and panel width when opening new documents. Our office uses Adobe to extract documents using the page thumbnail feature, and now we will have hundreds of employees having to readjust the thumbnail size/panel width for every new document. Combine Files errors encountered message options
When Acrobat encounters an error while combining files, the following message is shown. The options are Return to the File List, and Open Combined File. If the user wants to open the combined file AND review the files which caused errors, they have to combine the files twice (which can take a long time depending on the number and type of files). Note that if many files were combined, not all of the files can be seen in the main window in the background (behind the error message window). Default line endings were changed on ink annotation gestures
The line endings on gestures within ink annotations are defaulting to being rounded and prior to the most recent adobe acrobat update, they were flat. Please switch them back to default to flat/none or provide a way to set them to flat/none via javascript (or some other configuration).
For example, we have OCR and other downstream processes that no longer work efficiently or work at all with the rounded line ending updates.

Delete default Actions List.
I want to be able to remove the actions in the actions list that are available out of the box. I never, ever use them and I want the ones I use all the time to be the only ones available.
