  1. Ability to undock the comments list and view it horizontally.

There are cases where the comments can be really long, and a vertically orientated list makes it really difficult to read, not to mention the comment may even take up the entire comments pane. Sharing the same screen space between bookmarks, the actual content, and the comments list makes everything less readable. Users should have the option to undock the list and view it anyway they like.

  2. The quick tool icons were changed after Acrobat X during the overhaul of Acrobat's UI to DC and beyond. One of them was to make the tools in the quick access all GRAY, and eliminate their COLOR unil the pointer hovers over it.

This was a terrible decision and backwards step from a usability standpoint. Humans interact in their environment by perceiving things in color, lots of colors, and rely on color to understand and navigate the world. While shape outlines are one point of information to understand what a thing is, color adds considerable information to that mental processing…

Fellow users, please add or vote up the features that are most critical for you.

  5. Adobe Photoshop has 70 tools. Acrobat has about half the number of tools as Photoshop. In Photoshop, a user doesn't have to load tools. All are accessible from the Tools panel and menu commands in the Windows menu. In Acrobat one has to load tools from the Load Tools Window. Also in Photoshop one can configure a personalized UI design and save the Workspace. In Acrobat one can spend a few hours configuring the Workspace (for example one designed for working on forms) then the user begins to work on other activities (say comment & review). To…

  6. The ability to view a summary of all comments while working in Adobe Document cloud. Also the ability/option to hide "resolved" comments. We can mark comments as resolved, but they stay in the list, making things very cluttered. If I could turn on an option that would automatically hide (but not delete) comments once I've marked them as resolved, that would help tremendously as we go through proofreading comments.

  7. Quick tool icons are TOO BIG - In Adobe X I was able to fit ALL of my Quick Tools across the top, now you've apparently optimized the program for tablets and there is no way to make the Quick Tool icons small enough which creates TOO MUCH UNNECESSARY CLICKING. WHY do you assume that everyone needs these GIGANTIC icons? Why can't we reduce the size or the "padding" around them? It's beyond annoying.

  8. I am having a hard time editing my documents. I can't find tools. There is a "search for tools function" but it only searches the document and not for tools. Is there an easy way to go back to the earlier version as I'm finding this version very non functional. For instance, it keeps turning on a grid, which is irritating. One time, after about 15 min, I found a way to turn it off (using Google search!) but now I can't find it again. We should be able to search for a tool.

  9. I'm trying to make the select tool the default when Acrobat opens instead of the hand tool.

I was running Acrobat DC fine with the select tool as the default on Windows 7. I just got a new computer with Windows 10 and now I'm having trouble. Same version of Acrobat, just a new operating system.

I've tried almost everything mentioned in this thread: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2179758

The one thing I couldn't try was the scrubbing tool, because I have Creative Cloud. I did uninstall and reinstall Acrobat. It didn't work. Then I tried the "Repair Installation" option in the Acrobat help…

  10. Add selection tool for selecting all comments on each page in bulk. In addition, add the rotate comment tools by selecting all comments.

This is required while shifting comments from Old PDF document to New PDF document with major change in sheets/ orientation etc.

  11. The latest update to Adobe is terrible. Please revert back to support the old version

Everything takes way longer and functions are now hidden within other functions

also why did you swap the side that the tools are on? it makes no sense.

  12. Since updating to Acrobat Pro DC (version 2017.012.20098), I cannot individually copy arrow, line, rectangle, or oval shapes (with or without accompanying comments) from one PDF and paste them into another PDF. As an editor, I use these tools all day to mark corrections and I regularly have the need to carry over unaddressed/outstanding edits to the next version of the project. Without the ability to simply copy and paste, I have to redo a lot of work—losing efficiency and opening up room for error. Please restore this fundamental function!

  13. Comment Pane: Add/ allow user to resize/ change width of Comment Pane. -

*This is a f/u to previous posts (2021 and older) regarding the width of the Comment Pane.

PLEASE add/ allow user to resize/ change the width of Comment Pane.

Reason? Because each computer monitor, laptop, or tablet have different screen sizes; AND each user have varying degrees of space between actual monitor and eyes (think ergonomic devices, individuals with vision impairments.) Depending on these factors, the Comment Pane prevents the FULL VIEW of a document.

Is this an issue that can be related…

  14. We are currently in the process of modernizing our internal approval processes and have a number of forms that have been converted from excel worksheets into PDF forms. These forms when submitted, need to step through and be signed by a number of reviewers before final approval by the company Director.

Our process is very collaborative and quite often, signers/reviewers have additional information that needs to be added to the document as it passes through different departments.

With the way our forms currently work with Adobe Sign, whenever a change or addition needs to be made, the sender has to…

  15. Please, for the love of all that's good and right in the world, stop dramatically changing the GUI of your products that are already functional as is and making us relearn where all the tools we use are because you decided to rearrange the furniture. It's not fun. It's certainly not an improvement. I have work to do, I don't have time to figure out, every time there's an "update" where you decided to hide everything I need to use to get through my day. Your latest Acrobat "improvements" meant that in the middle of an important, time-sensitive project, I…

  16. When scrolling the pdf, the comment pane scrolls accordingly. This is expected behavior and a nice feature. However, when viewing multiple pdf files in separate windows, scrolling in one window will also scroll the comment pane of the other windows. This is not expected, scrolling in one window should not scroll the comment pane of other windows.

  17. Not only is the website I'm physically on garbage, but whatever minion at Adobe thought that mirroring the interface in Adobe Acrobat was a good idea doesn't have half of their brain in their skull. A new intuitive design? When the majority of people who've been using your product for years now can't do half of the tasks it's taken them to do in a half hour now takes 2 hours and a number of crashes, can't really say this is an improvement. Quick tools? I can't remove the ones that are in the toolbar, and there's room for…

  18. Worst interface change ever! I am in the print graphics industry and I rely heavily on the ability to view my PDF page sizes. Removing the page scaling size from the toolbar along with a place to shortcut my most used tools was a slap in the face to your core user base.

    Leave those features alone!

  19. Please add keyboard shortcuts to reorder items in the tag panel.

Currently, a user must drag and drop tags in the Tags panel to change the reading order. It is easy to drag and drop items in the wrong place.

    To recreate this problem:
    1.) Open a tagged PDF
    2.) Open Accessibility Tools
    3.) Open Tags Panel
    4.) Attempt to re-order items

It would be extremely useful to be able to do the following
With a tag selected, I want the ability to do the following with the keyboard:

    -Move the tag up
    -Move the tag down…

  20. The latest page layout is so confusing. Why did you do this to us?! It's one thing to update looks and add/subtract features. But you swapped sides. Now all editing tools are on the left and navigation (bookmarks etc.) are on the right. Why do this? That just slows us down and confuses us when we are used to it being editing on the right and navigation on the left. There doesn't seem to be a purpose in swapping them except to torment us. Perhaps you can add a preference in settings where we can make the layout as we…
