1. Internet Explorer crashes on AcroPDFImpl.dll randomly

   Within our company we use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (currently 15.020.20042). About 140 employees are having issues with random crashing Internet Explorer when using a web application with PDF's Crashes are appearing to be random about 3-5 times per day.

   The exact message is:

   What we have done so far:
   - Updated Acrobat Pro to the newest patch level (17.012.20095) This lowers the times the crashes occur to about 2-3 times per day.
   - Removed and reinstalled the client software. This has no effect.
   - Removed the user profile from the computer and let the user log on with a clean profile. This did not resolve the issue.
   - Tested Acrobat on a system with no policies, disabled Internet Explorer Protected mode and disabled protected mode in Acrobat. None of these fixes helped.
   - Testing with Acrobat Pro XI does NOT resolve in a crashing Internet Explorer and the software works without flaws. This will not be an option because of the ending support for XI products from Adobe.
   - Testing with Mozilla Firefox with Acrobat Pro DC (15.020.20042 and newer) results in a situation that will NOT crash Internet Explorer. Adding another browser to the system is configured a security risk and could be chosen as a work around when no solution will be provided on short notice.

   The possible suspect I have is the XFA functionality within Acrobat (or the web plugin). This explains the fixes of XFA functionality in the 17.012.20095 update and the lower crash rate. Also testing the functionality with another browser that uses another Acrobat plugin (I assume this is another plugin or method that is calling the plugin) For viewing PDF in Firefox the native PDF viewer is used.

2. Batch OCR blocking app and interfering with system

   The batch OCR feature is simply not fit for purpose and needs completely replacing.

   1. When performing a batch OCR the application is entirely locked into the process and is unable to do any other tasks. Acrobat installs itself as the default PDF viewer, so you cannot even view a PDF by default when the OCR process is running. There needs to be a way to run these batch processes as true background tasks that do not interfere with other Acrobat functions, or the ability to open multiple instances of Acrobat.

   2. The batch process will often crash without warning or error message, I simply come back later and find Acrobat is closed and only a few of my files were converted.

   3. On the Mac (latest OS) when a batch is running it does NOT behave nicely with the rest of the system. It sets the cursor pointer to the 'busy wristwatch' SYSTEM WIDE, not just for when the actual Acrobat app is in focus. It also likes to bring the Acrobat window to the front a LOT, which means you have to drag Acrobat off screen to stop it interfering with other things.

   The automation for OCR is clearly a hack that's been put on top of an architecture that was never designed to be automated.

   When will we get a modern application that justifies the monthly fees we pay for this?

3. New version runs terribly

   Everything about the new update is worse than the previous version. I get terrible slowdown and "not responding" messages literally every time I use it, and the FIND function in particular has been ruined. It barely works, and constantly shifts itself out of the search bar. PLEASE REVERT THIS FUTURE TO THE WAY IT USED TO BE. Otherwise the software is almost unusuable.

4. Adobe DC Out Of Memory

   I keep getting an error message "Adobe Acrobat ! Out Of Memory" on brand new Dell XPS 8930.
   Seems to occur after having multiple pdf files open at the same time.

   I have never experienced his with X Pro. on my 10 year old HP PC, which i'm still using due to this issue.
   Please help.

5. Single Page View Icon doesn't work properly in Acrobat Pro DC ver. 19.008.20080.44583

   My default is page width. From there I click on single page view but nothing happens. If I click on the 2 page side by side view and then the single page view if changes to single page view but NOT directly from the page width view.

6. Change it Back

   The new changes have messed everything up. It makes editing very frustrating. Specifically adding text to the pdf. It worked very well before, but now it is a mess. I can't add text where I want. It's too easy to accidentally drag existing text around and alter the form. The font size has to be changed for every text box, because it goes back to the tiny default size. The line spacing is no longer easy to adjust, and it doesn't save your preference. It's awful. PLEASE change it back.

7. Wrong Fonts since update to Version 2024.002.21005

   Since the last update to the mentioned Version, many of our pdfs are displayed with strange font settings.

   See the attached file. (I had to black out the document.)

   Around 160 PCs do have these problems in our Company.
   Other PDF Viewers are working like expected. The Problem only occours in adobe acrobat reader.

   So, i dont find any possiblilty in adobe acrobat reader to change the default font.
   So how can we fix this problem?

8. My created Document's are not permitting me to add recipients or the domain is being blocked from view.

9. Bug: nuova visualizzazione

   Ma come cacchio vi è venuto in mente di stravolgere l'interfaccia? Almeno potreste mettere un'opzione per ripristinare l'interfaccia precedente.
   Abituati da anni ad avere determinati pulsanti in determinati posti, la visualizzazione della pagina in alto, etc, ora è tutto stravolto.
   E con gli strumenti sempre tra i piedi... se è una mossa per convincere a comprare la licenza per l'uso di questi strumenti potrebbe essere controproducente; non solo non posso comprare la licenza (lo uso al lavoro) ma così infastidito probabilmente imposterò Edge come visualizzatore PDF di default.

10. Mozilla Firefox since v127.0 cannot install anymore the Adobe Acrobat Pro extension (adobe_acrobat-1.0-windows.xpi) file

    Tested on more then one PC: The Adobe Acrobat Pro extension (the adobe_acrobat-1.0-windows.xpi file) cannot be installed anymore in the Mozilla Firefox web browser and it always gives an error message upon its installation: "This add on could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt".

12. User Setting - Checkbox to Opt Out of Pop Ups

    Pontificating that there must be a "newbie user" segment who needs extra assistance in using Acrobat, I ask that you please remember you have a multitude of Perennial Power Users who don't need the constant hand holding, introductions, or reminders in pop ups. My efficiency is being damaged by the interruptions. While presenting in meetings, these pops ups are unprofessional and actually drove me to choose to default to opening PDFs in Microsoft Word. Yes. The unintended consequence of YOUR programming choice has driven me to use the big bad competitor's application. Please provide an option to opt out of your pop ups. If you prefer to categorize them and allow me choices to opt in and out of groups of pop up types, by all means, provide the options...but please start with one to opt out of ALL of them before you take the time to do that. Thank you for your consideration.

13. Need a solution

    We are testing a PDF, created with Acrobat pro DC. The hyperlinks work on our desktop PC's. All hyperlinks, except for the email hyperlink, work on iphone 4 and i phone 8. We are using current Acrobat reader app as default reader. please help.

14. Buttons no longer work

    Since the last update (2023.008.20533) the buttons no longer work.
    If you click on them, a security warning appears. If you allow them, this message appears:
    "This pdf cannot be displayed in adobe or reader and the application is now terminated"

    Another, locally stored pdf should actually be called up.

17. transparent colour

    One of the most common things we do as art directors, design directors and creative directors is to comment on PDF's.

    In doing that we have to make boxes or circles to show where we want to make changes.

    Almost every PDF editor under the sun has Red Stroke, NO Fill as default for this reason.

    In Acrobat I have to click 3 times before I can get to set any object as no fill.

    I'm really happy to be able to change fill colour of my rectangle or circle, but at least have one of the colours in the default colour picker be transparent instead of having to double click into the Mac OS colour picker.

    And in fact why am I having to mix the colours in the Mac OS colour picker anyway.

    What is this like 1997?

    Considering every other adobe program has an extensive Adobe colour mixed and colour selection tool built in I find it very strange that you are relying on the MacOS colour picker to do this in Acrobat.

    (And please don't tell me to turn down the opacity because that affects the stroke aswell. I just want a regular old, red line rectangle with no fill.)

18. Bug Report: Split PDF function not working

    When I use the split PDF, I select split by "Top level bookmarks" and "The same Folder Selected at Start" for "Target Folder" and "Use bookmark names for file names" under "File Labeling" under "Output Options". Then I click "Ok" and click on "Split".

    I receive an error message that says "The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder."

    However, the file is NOT ready-only and no one else has the file open because it's saved in a local folder on my computer's hard drive. Apparently, the bug has something to do with selecting "The Same Folder Selected at Start" because the split function DOES work when I select "A Folder on My Computer" for "Target Folder" instead while keeping "Use bookmark names for file names" under "File Labeling" under "Output Options".

    That means that I have to manually select the folder in which the split PDFs will be placed, which can be time consuming and annoying. Please fix this. Thank you.

19. macOS Big Sur Beta 10: Page scrolling unbearably slow

    Even in the latest public beta of MacOS 11, overall performance of Acrobat is sluggish. The app may take over a second to respond to a page scroll request via track pad and scrolling will be choppy.

20. Adobe Acrobat will not combine files into single document

    Adobe Acrobat will not combine files into single document..
    When trying to combine multiple pdf files into a single pdf file the attached message appears and the 2nd file is repeated for all of the remaining files.
    When we follow the error shown path and still not able to combine pdf.
    need your immediate assistance.
