  1. Currently to set a link within a PDF (for example, a link from a table of contents listing to the target page for that listing) you have to open Edit, open Link, highlight the listing on the contents page and set the link action to "go to page view" and then scroll to the target page to set the link. Why in the world can't Adobe simply have a place in that window to add the target page number? The current method is archaic.

  2. Right now, if you select a picture or text box or ANY object while editing, if you want to move that to the next page, you can't just drag and drop it. you have to CUT it, then scroll to the next page, and paste it. What if you have a full clipboard already, and don't want to put this new thing on it, because it'll slow your work down? There's so many reasons to let people do this, and not one good one I can think of to not have it at LEAST be an option to turn on…

  3. please add a functionality that allows you to open a cross-reference to a point within the same document in a new tab/window. currently when you click a cross-reference the reader jumps to the linked section in the document and the current position where the link was clicked from gets lost. this happens a lot of times when you read a scientific script for example and there are references to figures/tables on a different page. every time you click a link and you want to go back afterwards it takes a lot of time to scroll back to the origin page.…

  4. If I double-click on a comment it rises in the height (because of the post-button). Sometimes it rises also without double clicking, just on one click! If I click on the next comment the comment before shrinks and the current comment rises. So the complete list AND the current comment slips up. So if I have al list of 1000 comments and copy every comment-text to paste it in InDesign, my eyes and my brain gets tired of the constant comment-slipping. It's also hard to orientate if I switch between InDesign and Acrobat. Especially if the comment panels just shows…

  5. I dislike the way text inside multi-line-read-only data fields gets larger when documents are zoomed in on in active web forms. This sometimes means the text becomes too large to fit into the field and it becomes a scroll box. This happens even if there is not that much text and ample room in the field. This happens whether I set the text to the smallest size (8) or "auto-size" the text. I wish the text would just stay the same size as it does when you are actually creating/editing online forms and zooming in and out in the editing…

  7. Has the issue with PDFMaker crashing with Office 2016 and Office 365 on Windows been fixed? The workaround provided in your article acknowledging this issue (see link below) did not suffice, and we had to remove the Acrobat plugin from our MS Office 365. In so doing, we lost the added bookmarking features available via your plug in. The rules for California Court Filings require bookmarking, which that plug in helps automate.

  8. It would be very Helpful if Adobe would address this issue with being able to set the zoom level of the hyperlinks within the pdf document to inherit zoom as a default setting. As explained by others it is a real pain to have to change all the hyperlinks in the document 1 at a time to accomplish a "inherit zoom" setting in a large pdf document that can have hundreds of hyperlinks. Using inherit zoom is a document standard that is required in many industries, so it is not just a preference that I personally prefer. I must use…

  9. I often works with mixed size documents. I have document set on Fit Width or Fit Visible and it is at about 80%. Then I hit a page in landscape, and it is still Fit Width or Fit Visible but my view is at about 30%. Then I scroll down to regular portrait, and I am still at Fit Width or Fit Visible but I remain at 30% so I have to MANUALLY adjust it. I usually pick the other of the two - Fit Width or Fit Visible - and I am back at 80%. Can you make Fit…

  10. BE able to save multiple subsections and bookmarked Sections as a PDF rather than the whole document when PRINT action does not allow subsections to be saved through printer dialogue. Going to save as just saves the whole document again. NOT the selected Subsection or multiple pages.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your valuable feedback.
We have recorded it as a feature request in our database.
However saving multiple pages to PDF option is there. You can give selected pages in ‘Pages’ option on print dialog.

    Best Regards!

  11. I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2019.021.20061
When I open a PDF and double-click with my middle mouse button (the scroll wheel), a mini page thumbnail window is opened, similar too the Pan & Zoom window, but slightly different. For a picture of what I mean with the mini page thumbnail see this post: https://superuser.com/questions/428987/how-to-disable-middle-button-showing-a-page-thumbnail-in-adobe-reader

Note that this is not regarding the Page Thumbnail sidebar nor the "Pan & Zoom" window. There is no menu option to make this mini page thumbnail appear, the only way is to double-click the middle mouse button.

While that mini page thumbnail window…

  12. When creating a PDF via the "Create PDF" button in the Adobe Ribbon in MS Word, I have noticed that sometimes the hyperlinks are not clickable in the PDF and sometimes they are. I found the pattern and I think it's a bug.

    1) If a hyperlink in the DOCX contains an anchor (e.g. www.myfile.com#page=32), then all the linked text after that one in the PDF are not clickable. The anchor in the DOCX also causes the bookmarks in the PDF to render incorrectly from that point on.

    2) If a hyperlink in the DOCX is internal, then it…

  13. I'm using LaTeX (Beamer) to create my files and Drawboard PDF to draw on them. When I open the files with Acrobat, the slides with annotations with them result in Acrobat saying "There was a problem reading this document (18)". I can't even edit and try to save the document:

    https://community.adobe.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/111413iA8217F5167446A0C/image-size/original?v=1.0&px=-1

Other PDF applications and even Chrome work just fine:
    https://community.adobe.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/111414i91B07C2CC5A11750/image-size/original?v=1.0&px=-1

    1. Steps to reproduce the issue
Open the file and scroll to a slide with annotations.

    2. Environment
Acrobat DC 2015, Acrobat Pro DC 2020.006.20042, Windows 10

    3. Expected Result
Acrobat opens the file without issues.

    4. Observed result
      Acrobat throws an error…

  14. I see a strange behavior of Acrobat Reader/DC Pro here.

I use a JavaScript button to toggle the visibility of a (comments) layer in diverse documents. In some, but not all documents, there is the phenomenon that once I set the visibility of the comments layer to invisible using this JavaScript button, and then change the zoom factor of the PDF document, the invisible layer turns visible again.

The hidden layer even becomes visible if the document is only scrolled.

See the attached sample document that shows this phenomenon.

It is even stranger that this problem disappears once the visibility…

  15. Each new release you make takes away from my productivity!

    1. The new version of Acrobat Pro shows the right col. Comment list by name of commenter, but I need to see the entire list of the marked comments/changes. This function seems to have disappeared with the recent release. The comment col. as a scroll list view showing all corrections/changes is also a great checklist to make sure all client and manager changes have been made. I review and proofread many, many PDFs each day and it's very frustrating to have to open each comment one-by-one.
    2. Each opened comment…

  16. Software: Adobe Acrobat Pro, Continuous Release, Version 2023.003.20180 (New Acrobat)

    OS: MacOS 15.0.1

To Reproduce the Issue: Open a multi-page PDF document with content at the very top of the first page. Set the page layout to Single Page Continuous. Toggle rulers on and off, and notice that the horizontal ruler overlays the very top of the PDF document, blocking the content at the top of the page from view. Also, try scrolling up with rulers on, and notice that the user cannot scroll up the document enough to display the portion go the document covered by the horizontal ruler.

  17. For what it’s worth, this is coming from a guy that used to be kenc@microsoft.com (1988-97) – “Ken C-is-for-Chart”, they called me (an area I was responsible for in Works and just a bit in Excel) – Microsoft, where half the folks I worked with were, like the agent today, from India! And it has occurred to me, as I have observed the program behavior detailed in the accompanying doc file, that hey, if I were the programmer on the other end of the program – Acrobat, in this case – I would want to know about this behavior!

    Given…

  18. If I have 2 docs open and I have scrolled down the list of thumbnails in the thumbnail navigation pane, then switch to the other acrobat doc, then return to the first doc, it now displays the beginning of the thumbnail list and I have to scroll back to where I was every time I return to that document.

  19. When user scroll up and down pages, thumb nail page in the left hand pane is not that much recognizable. I think system will be better showing thick solid line surrounded around the thumbnail page even user scroll the page without magnifying it. Hope this will make sense to you guys. It is simply dotted line surrounded, which is not recognizable.

  20. Preference to change the scroll wheel so when i push/roll the wheel away from me the document also moves away from me. when i pull the wheel back to me the document also pulls closer to me.
Please add the reversing option for this zoom scroll action.
