1. Trashy application and garbage user experience

   I have been using Acrobat Read (paid) for 1 year.

   The application is trashy at its best.

   1. Had crashes when exporting from word to pdf. It crashes 3/6 times.

   2. Export to pdf from word was changed recently and the user experience was broken. After the export to pdf the user is moved from the existing line to the beggining of the document. If you do this 100 times per day and if you work continously with the export this is not work - the product that designed this is idiot. He should have asked the customers. This new „feature” was recently „introduced”. Another idiocy of the application. Another broken feature not designed for customers.

   3. Another broken feature is when you open a pdf in the read and you select view of 2 pages. It used to align both of the pages correctly into the view of the reader and when you were paging 200 pages document it would correctly align each 2 new pages into the view and you were viewing only the 2 pages. Right now after it was „fixed”, the scroll was designed so idiotic that you see 4 pages, and you need to manually align them. When you have a 200 pages document this is stupid.

   4. The product is continously updated and reinstalled, meaning the level of bugs is so high that the application needs to be continously in repair mode.

   This product is not designed for customers, is designed by idiots that are not using it and that dont know the customers.

2. Measurements keep disappearing

   I am having an issue trying to do takeoffs on my architectural plans. I measure everything out and mark up drawings to send out for pricing and all my measurements disappear. If I scroll out or in I can no longer see them

   Hello,

   I tried checking the forums to see if my idea was presented yet. I did not find it and have scrolled a lot of pages.

   So... my feedback is regarding the Adobe Create PDF Group Add-in in MS Office on the Ribbon. The Adobe Group Add-in keeps coming back when I remove it. I have been very thorough in my attempts of removing it, to the point of deleting the registry keys for it several times. I mean like, I kill it hard but it keeps coming back.

   Please do not make coding that bypasses the settings we put in. We know what we want or do not want and having features arbitrarily put in place feels violating. If a user removes a feature they do not like, leave it that way, and don't take it personally. It's not that we do not know the feature exists, it's that we do not like it, nor want it in our ribbons.

   Reading a lot of the comments, people are mad. I understand. There is no "one way" of pleasing the populations of earth. Diversity is key. As such, software designers need to stop with trying to make a uniform, one-off environment hoping their way changes the world and dominates. Interoperability, dynamic content, and customization by the user are what will sell. Forcing features into our programs after being removed motivate users to look for alternatives.

   For the most part, I like Adobe. I have been with Adobe since the early '90s. That is until this recent change of the UI. I find it hard to use and going the way of Microsoft. I implore you, please return to the game changing, alternative, stand by itself, user pleasing company you once were. Adobe made very well written programs once. That part is slipping. I give Adobe 28GB on my hard drive for all the apps I run. For that price of digital real estate, and a premium monthly fee, I want more than slumming it with Microsoft tactics. I want the premium experience back please.

   Historically, Adobe rocked because they stood alone. The programs were solid, responsive, and feature rich. At one point I wished Adobe would make an OS because I thought they would do a fine job of it. Not anymore. Adobe is becoming a hack ridden doppelganger of all the other crapapps. Break free Adobe! Be who you were meant to be.

   At the least, get your addin out of my MS Word and Excel.

4. organizing pages by typing new page number as an option

   with multiple pdfs, each over 50 pages long, to drag and scroll to move the pages to their correct location is a huge hassle. Can you find a way where the pages can be organized by selecting a page or range of pages and reassigning the page/range location? please and thank you

5. Bug: file jumps back a number of pages after rotating a page

   When rotating a single page in a multi-page document, the document will jump back a number of pages, requiring me to scroll back to the page I just rotated. This happens about 80% of the time that I rotate a page with no observable action that causes the jump.

6. Newer version

   For some reason my programme quit! When opened, it was updated to a newer version - I DID NOT ASK FOR IT - i work with this software every day and now I cannot tick off my corrections as I work (box for tick is NOW right click and scroll down...!!!)

   IT IS TIME CONSUMING - please put it back!!!

   My work is time based and not a toy.

7. Comments are slipping when opening a single comment

   If I double-click on a comment it rises in the height (because of the post-button). Sometimes it rises also without double clicking, just on one click! If I click on the next comment the comment before shrinks and the current comment rises. So the complete list AND the current comment slips up. So if I have al list of 1000 comments and copy every comment-text to paste it in InDesign, my eyes and my brain gets tired of the constant comment-slipping. It's also hard to orientate if I switch between InDesign and Acrobat. Especially if the comment panels just shows half of the amount of comments compare to Acrobat X. That means I have to scroll additional much more than before. And after a scroll I have to orientate again.

   Please make the single comment the same size no matter if the comment is closed or opened (to post a comment or copy the comment-text).

8. Page layout and zoom settings not working - fix immediately

   The default page layout and zoom settings that I choose in the Preferences menu aren't applying to documents I open. I have it set to Single Page and Fit Page, but every time I open a document, it scrolls as if I've chosen "Single page continuous" instead. This is a waste of my time having to set it correctly every time. Fix this immediately.

9. IDEA - Insert All Links On Page

   This is a variation on an existing function in Adobe Acrobat Pro that appears in Tools - Document Processing - Web capture - Append All Links on Page. This function seeks out a linked file or webpage, converts it to PDF, and then appends it to the end of the host PDF file and then internally links/bookmarks the link to that page.

   Instead of appending the links to the PDF file at the end and creating an internal bookmark link to the page, this feature would do the same thing but instead attach the file or webpage in the link as a file. This can be done manually via the Tools - Content Editing - Attach File option. It would be helpful to do able to have this done for an entire page or document. Useful options would be to convert the target link to PDF first, or just attach it as a native file.

   I work with high volumes of legal discovery electronic documents that I need to file as affidavits or books of documents. eDiscovery programs find the files, but putting them into a formatted and indexed court submission still takes some manual formatting.

   Right now create a hyperlinked table of contents in a spreadsheet or wordpro that link to each of the files I need. I convert it to PDF then I can use the 'append all links on page' to convert a hyperlinked Table of Contents into a linked document, but it can be hard to know what file I am looking at since it all becomes one big file. By attaching the file and having the link open that attached file (in a new tab in Reader) I can see which discrete document I am looking at, and all the documents are in one PDF. PDF portfolios do not work for this task as the layout options are primitive and do not read in many PDF readers. Other options would be also to bulk amend/append the file names in the attached list (to add numbers to them) and enable the ability to search all the attached files in the base document search. FIle size is not really an issue.

   I'm working on trying to create a javascript to do this, but it would be a super value added feature natively in Acrobat Pro. If anyone has a batch script or action that does this, or can offer some tips, please comment below and thank-you in advance.

   AcroPro users since version 3. I still use Acrobat XI on a second PC often because it enables certain functions I can't get in DC Pro.

11. Bug in Windows 10 preview handler navigation

    System: Windows 10, MS Outlook, Acrobat installed preview handler
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. In Outlook, when receving a mail that has an attachment with more than 1 page, click the attachment once to open the preview handler
    2. Secondary problem/design flaw: in the preview you cannot scroll
    3. Main problem: for navigation in the pages there a "Down" and an "Up" button at the lower edge of the preview. While going down using the Down button works fine, going up again with Up button doesn't work at all.

12. Widen the Index Selection dialog

    When you need to locate an index to use in search, you encounter the Index Selection dialog. The problem is that it’s far too narrow. Sure, one can widen the columns and slide the bottom scroll bar around, but if the index is nested in a few folders, it becomes an unnecessarily onerous task.

    In the screenshot I attached, you will note they are a bit easier to see, but only because I placed all my indexes on an SD card, named just AI — which stands for Acrobat Indexes.

13. Setting Links within PDF

    Currently to set a link within a PDF (for example, a link from a table of contents listing to the target page for that listing) you have to open Edit, open Link, highlight the listing on the contents page and set the link action to "go to page view" and then scroll to the target page to set the link. Why in the world can't Adobe simply have a place in that window to add the target page number? The current method is archaic.

14. Has the PDFMaker Crashing MS 2016 and MS Office 365 Issue Been Fixed?

    Has the issue with PDFMaker crashing with Office 2016 and Office 365 on Windows been fixed? The workaround provided in your article acknowledging this issue (see link below) did not suffice, and we had to remove the Acrobat plugin from our MS Office 365. In so doing, we lost the added bookmarking features available via your plug in. The rules for California Court Filings require bookmarking, which that plug in helps automate.

15. Let us drag and drop images/text boxes across page lines when editing a .PDF instead of cut/pasting everything.

    Right now, if you select a picture or text box or ANY object while editing, if you want to move that to the next page, you can't just drag and drop it. you have to CUT it, then scroll to the next page, and paste it. What if you have a full clipboard already, and don't want to put this new thing on it, because it'll slow your work down? There's so many reasons to let people do this, and not one good one I can think of to not have it at LEAST be an option to turn on and off.

16. Improving Auto-sizing Text in Multi-Line-Read-Only data fields on web forms

    I dislike the way text inside multi-line-read-only data fields gets larger when documents are zoomed in on in active web forms. This sometimes means the text becomes too large to fit into the field and it becomes a scroll box. This happens even if there is not that much text and ample room in the field. This happens whether I set the text to the smallest size (8) or "auto-size" the text. I wish the text would just stay the same size as it does when you are actually creating/editing online forms and zooming in and out in the editing window.

17. open cross-references to same document in new tab/window

    please add a functionality that allows you to open a cross-reference to a point within the same document in a new tab/window. currently when you click a cross-reference the reader jumps to the linked section in the document and the current position where the link was clicked from gets lost. this happens a lot of times when you read a scientific script for example and there are references to figures/tables on a different page. every time you click a link and you want to go back afterwards it takes a lot of time to scroll back to the origin page. i posted this issue to the community and got told to submit a request here by an adobe support team member.

18. Turn off floating page overview

    There is a new "feature" that pops up something that looks like a floating page thumbnail in the upper right corner of the document whenever I scroll with my mouse. Although there is a tiny X to close it, it's hard to get it to close and it doesn't stay closed. There doesn't appear to be any way to turn it off.

    I'm not sure what the purpose of this feature is-- maybe it's useful for a touch screen (although I don't really see how), but it gets in the way when trying to read/edit an existing PDF. Specifically, when you open Find, the Find window opens in the exact same spot.

    I would love for you to a) name this feature, and b) give the user the option to turn it off. It is totally useless when using a standard monitor/keyboard/mouse setup-- there are better ways to navigate a document.

19. inherit zoom default - Hyperlinks within the pdf document pages.

    It would be very Helpful if Adobe would address this issue with being able to set the zoom level of the hyperlinks within the pdf document to inherit zoom as a default setting. As explained by others it is a real pain to have to change all the hyperlinks in the document 1 at a time to accomplish a "inherit zoom" setting in a large pdf document that can have hundreds of hyperlinks. Using inherit zoom is a document standard that is required in many industries, so it is not just a preference that I personally prefer. I must use inherit zoom hyperlinks in documents submitted to the FDA. I have also read in other blogs that Legal documents submitted to courts must be filed using inherit zoom. I hope Adobe program engineers will recognize that there is a great need to have this functionality in their program. Adobe has only addressed the "Bookmark settings" and have not addressed the "Hyperlink settings" within the pdf...which causes the most pain and time to currently set in a document.

    There is at least one software maker that recognizes this need and has developed a ADD-IN called "Debenu PDF Aerialist" ( https://www.debenu.com/products/desktop/debenu-pdf-aerialist/ ) that claims to be able to do what Adobe Acrobat cannot do on it's own.

    BE able to save multiple subsections and bookmarked Sections as a PDF rather than the whole document when PRINT action does not allow subsections to be saved through printer dialogue. Going to save as just saves the whole document again. NOT the selected Subsection or multiple pages.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your valuable feedback.
    We have recorded it as a feature request in our database.
    However saving multiple pages to PDF option is there. You can give selected pages in ‘Pages’ option on print dialog.
