1. Workspace saving for Adobe Acrobat

   In the Adobe CC programs, you can always save a workspace. I'd love to have that in Acrobat, too. Everytime the program updates, my tools in the right vertical tool bar go back to default and sometimes also the tools in the horizontal toolbar do that.

2. New interface needs changes

   The new "modern" interface just doesn't work for people like myself who use a lot of plugins and don't need Acrobat for commenting or e-signing. I work in a print shop and I'm constantly reviewing and editing customer files. I need to be able to easily see the page counts, scroll through documents, check page box sizes, etc... All of these changes have made that really difficult and it slows down our workflow drastically. I get wanting to clean things up and I remember that DC was a big shift from older versions like XI that could seem very cluttered. But not letting me put anything in the top toolbar or at least get rid of icons for tools I don't need just doesn't make any sense to me. Even the new "floating toolbar" I can't get rid of the digital signature and comment tools to make space for the tools I use on a daily basis. What is the purpose of this? I'm sure I can get used to having the tools on the left instead of the right but at least let me shrink the window size or minimize it like we used to. I know I can currently switch back but I know that will only last for so long, so I was really trying to get used to it.
   Judging by all of the other people complaining, it doesn't seem like you'll listen but I hope you do.

3. Ditch the 2023 User Interface in Acrobat

   There are so many shortcomings and problems with the new 2023 GUI interface. Here are just a few:

   1. Swapping left and right-hand panels for no reason. This does not improve anything for users. It just forces users to change everything about how they work in Acrobat every workday.

   2. Functions are indicated by random icons. In the 90s, we learned that icons in software and websites don't work across different populations. Users have a difficult time figuring out what the heck they mean. Give text labels.

   3. The left panel is permanently positioned on the screen and obscures part of the document below. Seriously Adobe, WTF.

   4. The entire menu/panel system can't be customized, moved, or docked. Another WTF.

   5. Hamburger menus (those obscure 3 horizontal lines) are used on mobile interfaces to collapse menus. They are totally unnecessary and inappropriate on desktop interfaces — where working people spend most of their time working. Give people real menus with real names. "Menu" is not accurate, either. What is the name of the other menu to the right? Menu 2? Cheeseburger Menu?

   6. The new interface is inaccessible for those with disabilities who use assistive technologies, especially screen reader users. Adobe has seriously violated its VPAT with governments and corporations worldwide who are required by law to provide accessible work environments and tools.

   7. Grey on Grey is not an accessible color scheme. Can't tell if some icons are active or disabled. Those with low vision can't discern the icons.

   8. Digital signatures, Document Cloud (where Adobe stores your files by default), subscriptions, OCR, file creation, file combining, and accessibility all have reported major problems for the past few years...but rather than fix these critical problems, money was instead spent on rearranging the deck chairs on the sinking Titanic.

   As long-time PDF consultants, my firm has found that the majority of customers are professionals who use Acrobat for their jobs. These are not "casual" users working on their smartphones. They are using desktops/laptops with full screens, not mobile devices to do their jobs. And they work with PDFs a lot.

   They have developed actions and scripts to automate processes on dozens, hundreds, and even thousands of PDF files every day. These industries include print, prepress, graphic design, accessibility & remediation, accessible forms, variable forms, variable printing, data validation, financial institutions (think of all those bank statements every month!), health care, investment and finance, and manufacturing.

   Dramatic GUI changes like 2023's completely change how these automated processes work...if they still work at all.

   The cost to these industries to correct the now-broken processes — brought on by Adobe's whimsical, untested design idea — is appalling. If I was a major corporation hit by this unnecessary expense, I'd ban Adobe products from my company and look for another PDF vendor.

   Calling this Acrobat's "Modern Viewer" is a form of gaslighting Adobe customers. It's not modern at all — 30 years ago, using icons failed in software and web interfaces, and it's failing again with Acrobat 2023. Sometimes retro isn't good, especially retro user interfaces. Please don't attempt to bring back disco, old-fashioned 20 inch TVs, polyester suits, rotary phones and VHS tapes as being "Modern," too.

   Ditch this "Modern Viewer" and instead give us a working tool to get our jobs done.

   1. Revert the interface back to what it was.

   2. Fix Acrobat's bugs. There are so many!

   3. And improve the accessibility for those with disabilities (who can't get to the Comments panel, Bookmarks panel, understand what and how much is redacted, make edits or change the content, scale/enlarge the interface, nor sign a PDF).

   For those still reading this, users can revert to the old interface for now (August 2023).

   I have no idea who long Adobe is going to let us revert to the "real" interface.

   The Floating HUD toolbar will then be docked automatically into your Top toolbar.

5. Create tickmarks tool box for quick access through keypad

   In other PDF editor programs, there is the ability to customize tickmarks in a toolbox that can then be assigned to a keypad number to be accessed quickly and repeatedly. Creating this functionality would greatly increase the speed in which user can apply those tickmarks in reviewing a document, generating significant efficiency when a large volume of documents require this type of review.

6. Bottom tool bar

   Bottom tool bar which appears over the document every time, it's always covering a page numbers, it's disappears so long and slow and no way to close it or make not appear at all... I never, just never, used this bar and any tool it provides. Wish I could set preferences to get rid of that annoying tool bar. Thank you.

7. Feature request - Give the user the option to choose default tool to be Arrow/Selection or Hand/Pan

   It should be clear with the countless posts of users wanting the default to be the Hand Tool and others wanting the default to be the Selection Tool.

   In both cases, there has been countless work arounds and fixes to make it work one way or another. Since this latest update none of the fixes appear to be working now and it seems everyone is forced into having Selection as the default.

   Simple feature request - have a Preference setting to select your default tool - Hand/Pan or Arrow/Select.

8. Shared documents should have the capability to use the insert text and replace text.

   These should be added immediately to make reviewing as easy as possible. Our team has paid for Adobe Pro DC thinking this would fix the problem to being able to use these tools, yet they still do not work.

9. Request for Customizable Bookmarks Tool Panel Placement in Adobe Acrobat

   Dear Adobe Support Team,
   I am writing to share my frustration with the current version of Adobe Acrobat, specifically regarding the inability to move tool panels—such as the Bookmarks panel—to the left side or other locations within the application window. In previous versions, the placement of the Bookmarks panel and tools was on the left (which makes sense to be on the left), and it is essential for my daily workflow and productivity to keep it on the left.

   The recent interface changes have switched sides of all the tools, and now the Bookmarks panel is fixed on the right side, with no option to reposition it. This limitation disrupts my work and makes the software less user-friendly. Many users, including myself, rely on the ability to organize tools according to our needs.

   I strongly urge Adobe to include the ability to move panels and tools, or to provide enhanced customization options in future updates. This change would help users like me work more efficiently and maintain the high standards we expect from Adobe products. We don’t have time to spend figuring out the new way to work, when we have WORK to get done quickly every day. This drastic change of tool / menu positioning is a serious time waster when there are deadlines that need to be met.

10. Give option to make Hand Tool the default option instead of the Select Tool

    The Select Tool is the default tool. I never use it and have never seen a need to use it. It makes the screen turn blue and wants to select things instead of letting me drag and move around the page to review large documents. I always have to stop what I'm doing and switch to the hand tool. I am opening and managing easily over 100 PDFs a day and having to switch at every new document is frustrating and time consuming. Adding this as an option would save so much time for users that need this as their default setting.

    You can make the hand tool the default option by trying:
    1)Look under Preferences> Acessibility
    2)Uncheck "Always display the keyboard selection
    3)Then select the Hand Tool.
    4)Close the program
    5)The Hand tool will now be default

11. Zoom and Scroll while using connected lines comment tool

    Please enable zooming and scrolling while using commenting tools like the "connected lines" tool. I often have to trace lines on a schematic and it is REALLY difficult to do without being able to zoom or scroll using control / shift plus the mouse wheel.

    Really this should be enabled when using any commenting tool but it's especially problematic with the connected lines tool.

12. The new interface simply very annoying. Just add a button upfront for users to simply and easily switch back.

    I feel very upset about the new interface. It's confusing and very hard to find tools, or some are missing, or some are misplaced. Not user friendly in any level. Completely hate it. Just want the old version back. Add a button upfront to switch back that actually will not switch back the next time a new file is open.

13. This is a one big -*** program that installs very long. I would require a lite version. Optional options could be installed as plugins.

    Please create a lite version. This program is so heavy with all the unnecessary tools. I just need to edit a PDF and it's been an hour I am downloading and installing it.

14. turn off finger input when using pen

    When using the pen, allow the user to scroll, etc, by using a finger touch. At the very least, make scrolling with a two finger touch possible. Otherwise, you need to keep switching tools when reading through and commenting on the PDF.

15. Edit default text (color, font, size) for Measure Tool

    The measurement tool lacks any ability to change the text font, size, and color for measurement labels, the default is not sufficient especially because it tends to glitch and turn from an Ariel type font to a very spaced out Courier font which is not convenient for measuring small distances, the perimeter and area measure tool should also enable text callouts.

16. Be able to add text without having entire document going through "edit."

    In older versions we could just add text to a document where needed. Now you have to go to Tools, Edit which then takes the time to recognizes all the text in a document. I frequently add text in all kinds of documents including charts and forms. When it goes to "recognize" the text on the full page, it distorts it to something unuseable. I end up having to open the document in Photoshop - if it will read it since usually it was scanned in first. If it won't, I have to do a screen shot, cut and paste the form out, resize and type in the comment I needed to put in, then save it again as a pdf. Total pain when we used to be able to just click add text and voila you had a text box.

17. Toolbar on far right needs the ability to move

    Having the All Tools toolbar on the left and everything else at the right is confusing and inefficient. We need the ability to move ALL the toolbars to the top. My arm, mouse and neck are moving all over the page.

18. Why is there an Edit Text & Images tool in Prepare Form?

    In Prepare Form, why can't I use the Select Object Tool to select multiple fields with a marquee anymore? I've always used it in the past but every time I use it now, it automatically switches to Edit Text & Images, which I don't want it to do. This change supposed to be an "improvement" in the most recent update of Acrobat DC, but it has made my job both harder and take longer. Evidently, there's no way turn off Edit Text & Images when you're in Prepare Form, so you're just stuck editing fields without using a marquee to select. Adobe broke something that previously worked great. Edit Text & Images should be removed from Prepare form! Or at least have the choice of turning it off.

19. Put the screen menu options back where they were and add the new features ther.

    I am frustrated by the view or placement changes of the menu. It seems the menu items on the top left (save, print, tools, etc.) are now on the right and the items on the right (editing menu) are now on the left side. Automatically I go to the left to get something and find it has been moved and have to look on the right, I am searching back and forth all day, very frustrating. I like the new editing features, but just leave the menus where they were and where we are used to it being. Your new tools should help us move quicker not have us searching back and forth for what you need. 20. Allow for multiple change options to be selected in Password Security.

    Please break out all the current change options to allow more than one option be enabled under password protection. Really have a need to be able to have two of the four options (e.g., insert, delete, comment, fill and sign) available. What would be really nice is if we could select the Tools that are not available under password security and in any configuration. Your consideration would be so very appreciated!!!!
