  1. Unfortunately Acrobat DC buries an important tool; the ability to select text. I believe it is hidden somewhere, but I have yet to find it. It is very common to want to select some text in a document. Why bury a common task deep within the program? There seems to be the trend these days with software to a have a minimalist interface and bury the most common tools. My toolbar has the least commonly used tools as standard.

  2. We need a keyboard shortcut for "go to the next sticky note." This would prevent my having to scroll through the comments pane if I have a lot of callouts and text boxes (in addition to sticky notes).

Sorting the comments doesn't work; I need to be able to see the text boxes and callouts as I'm reviewing the sticky notes.

  3. The Tool Bar cannot be easily moved or hidden.
On some documents this means that information is covered by the Tool Bar and there is no way to move the document to show it.
In the attached example, the left column of the table is hidden, and there is no horizontal scroll bar to move the document across.

  4. I need your full suite of products, specially those related to pdf, (reader, editor, etc.), for work on Linux, kubuntu or Debian.
I know of there are many companies of the lack of these tools jeopardize the switch of the work stations to Linux, for the daily office task.

  7. I never use Bookmark ... but here it is every time I start Reader (taking up half of the screen with my document scrunched down accordingly). Not to mention the nav buttons hiding down in the corner on a right-hand tool bar. Are you people mashugana?! It's like you've never seen a Windows nav tool bar (well, before the little morons "ribbonized" things).

    1. How do I get rid of the auto-loading Bookmark panel?

    2. How do I get my nav buttons back into the top tool bar where they belong?

  10. Windows environment.

When using the Edit PDF Tool to change minor character styles (color, weight, underscore, etc.), the Tag structure and read order for the page the edit is applied are broken.

For example: change the color of a header (H1) line of text. Return to the Tags Panel and all current page content has been consolidated into one <p> Tag. All the original Tags associated with this page are empty and placed randomly through the Tag Structure. Depending on page content, you may be unable to break apart the new tag single into the individual Tags necessary for…

  12. This issue of InDesign and Acrobat incompatibility in regards to Acrobat displaying all spans even when the Reading Order is correct has been around for over two years. We deserve to know what Adobe is doing about it.

Acrobat Team acknowledges the problem and blames InDesign:

"It's actually not an Acrobat issue, it's an issue with InDesign and how it's generating the Content that Acrobat is displaying correctly"

  13. This is about both editing and exporting PDFs.
The attached PDF has an explicit explanation of the issues + screenshots. Text from the attached file goes right here.

I’ve got Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2015 Release Version 2015.006.30355.

    On Web page https://www.zm.gov.lv/mezi/statiskas-lapas/nozares-informacija/buklets-meza-nozare-latvija-?nid=1088#jump
..there is a link to a PDF file "Latvia's Forests During 20 Years of Independence" 2010, https://www.zm.gov.lv/public/ck/files/ZM/mezhi/buklets/MN_20_EN.pdf
The PDF file seems to be a nicely composed PDF with Adobe InDesign CS5.5 (7.5.2).
The font used, Museo Slab is a publicly available font, I bet it should not have any major issues.

In the said file, page 47 there…

  14. I know I had this functionality in Adobe in 2014, but I was able to customize the mapping for keyboard shortcuts for tools I frequently used. In 2014 I mapped 'ctrl + shift + x' so that a text comment could be added wherever I clicked. I did turn on single-key accelerators, which is just 'x' as of recently in 2022. I just want to map my own shortcuts so that I can also create a text callout (for example, 'ctrl + shift + y'). I don't see text callout as a single-key accelerator option. I did use the cycle…

  15. When my team uses the updated Shared Review, they do not have access to all of the commenting tools as they did prior to the update.

The REPLACE TEXT, INSERT TEXT etc. are vital to our review process. Not having these tools available prevents us from updating the InDesign layout using the new PDF COMMENTS feature.

So, to sum it up, we were excited about updates that are not working because they were not fully deployed with the features we need.

    Thanks for your feedback !

We have added this in our backlog, will let you know once we implement it in future.

  16. There should be a setting when creating a form in Acrobat Pro such that when a user opens it in Acrobat Reader and they click on the comment icon, that the comment list pane on the right side of the document does not automatically open up. This is confusing for some users. They should be able to open it up manually, but it should be possible to set it to not auto-open that pane.

  18. Please revert back to the old layout. Trying to add comments is just painful. I used to be able to quickly select the tools to delete, change and replace, add comments and highlight with ease.

Now everything requires an extra step which is just slowing the process. And now it looks like I can no longer cross text out (without replacing). Please revert back. It was the perfect tool before. Now it's just awkward and cumbersome and it's leaving me so frustrated.

  20. I have a number of Watermark and Header/Footer "Saved Settings" on one Mac (desktop) that I would like to export from it and import into another Mac (laptop). These include page number specs for different page sizes. It would be a great time saver if, once those were saved in one computer, they could be exported into another without entering in the specs from scratch.
